We Have Got The Vermont Xl-i Love This Tent (we Pa

We have got the Vermont XL-I love this tent (we paid £499 in 2009)!! I wanted a good family tent that had a seperate "kitchen" area and "sitting" area- this delivers!! Its bigger than my first student digs!Even if the weathers bad you have enough room for the kids to play games and to cook etc safely and without getting in each others way. I have the front set up as kitchen area (cooker, fridge, cupboards and have hang storage for fruit/snacks etc- the toggles and loops in the tent lend itself perfectly to hang light mesh storage baskets etc- go to Ikea/Primark.WE DONT use the wardrobe in the middle bit-waste of living area!!

The middle bit is our living area (weve got the carpet for extra cosiness)again pop up storage baskets for the kids indoor/ outdoor toys.A blow up sofa/bed from wilkinsons (£20)electric hookup- so we can listen to music/watch films etc.if the kids need calming down.Even an electric portable heater (Tipsy)

the kids share the smaller bedroom(r) and we have the wardrobes in the middle bedroom (long ways on )with the middle zipped down to get our doublebed (L) dressing room.

I am so addicted to this whole camping thing now!! We have got the side extension which is brilliant extra space and we have our table and chairs in there to eat/chill in the evening. It gives you a nice bit of shelter from wind/rain.Also good if the weathers bad for that nightime dash to the loo- you can get out of the tent, put your shoes on in the "porch" bit and leg it without getting the tent soaked.Just bought the awning (doored version of the side extension for £134!!!!!Still waiting to use it.

Who knew camping could be sooo comfy- home from home. We have converted a few camping sceptics who thought it was all leaky tents,muddy/hilly fields.

Shocked alot of people at how quickly we put it all up and that we actually got it all in our Honda Stream too. Vermont XL is perfect for a family tent for all ages. I know we are "glampers" but really why rough it- this is luxury camping and to me perfect camping. I have seen so many different layouts but this really is perfect for us!!Good luck!!

Really Disappointed With First Trip In Vermount L

Really disappointed with first trip in Vermount L , one main pole was squashed at fixing point so had to open that up with a gentle tap of the hammer (ok, a large tap). One of the clear windows came away from main part of material ( about 4" ) whilst zipping up . When packing up the tent , one of the cables holding the pole sections together broke then putting the tent back in the bag ( which even after watching the videos available and follwing instructions is really not easy ! ) the bag ripped in one corner !

I have used various tents over 20 years and was really looking forward to many years with the vermount but am very disapointed ! Will give them one more chance as heard so many positive things and really liked the tent in every other aspect . Loads of room, leak free, front porch is great, window systems great, wardrobe great feature, carpet and footprint are a must for extra comfort......

This Outwell Vermont Tent Is Fantastic, We Were Go

This Outwell Vermont tent is fantastic, we were going to buy montana but stumbled on a website selling this larger tent, vermont for £425 2008 model. So after talking my husband into it we finally went away May bank holiday week and it was fantastic. Loads of room. Wardrobe is fab as you can hide all the junk out of site. Brilliant tent was pretty easy to erect too! One thing bugged me though we hung the outwell light Jupiter as illistrated in all the press about this tent, I am only 5.8" and I kept knocking my head into it. So make sure you buy small light for this.

Huge Tent, King Size Mattress Fits In The Main Bed

Huge tent, king size mattress fits in the main bedroom with space either side for bags etc, double fits easily in both the other compartments again with space for bags etc. Main living area is great. Wardrobe is useful as are the storage pockets. Option to enlarge the main area by unzipping the inner doors to encompass the front porch/wet area gives masses of space. No leaks even in heavy rain and very stable in high wind.

Excellent, even my wife who was not a fan of camping loved it.

A Very Spacious And Bright Tent. Easy To Erect , (

A very spacious and bright tent. Easy to erect , (mother and 2 sons aged 11 and 14) took us about 1 1/2 hours first time.

Lots of headroom in bedrooms and in general. Like the 3 doors , plenty of ventilation and in very bad weather with high winds you can choose which door to use. The carpet is great for our beach holiday as I can lift it out and shake off the sand /grass etc.

We are not new to camping ; I have camped every summer of my life , my four children love their camping holidays. This is our 6th family tent and so far I am impressed.

Ok, We Had Heavy Rain But You Could See The Seams

OK, we had heavy rain but you could see the seams were not sewn correctly in a lot of places. The inner sleeping areas do not have waterproof floors to them which would not have mattered if the tent had not leaked so badly. I was told by an assistant in a camping shop that there were a very large number of these tents returned last year for this reason.

Hopefully, Outwell have now fixed the problem, as it was a nice tent apart from the leaks and I really don't mean to put any one off buying the tent if it is fixed because the deign is otherwise good (OK, I have been put off the Vermont, but I had the bad experience, and I still do like Outwell tents).

Ours has been returned and we are getting an Outwell Norfolk Lake instead - very similar deign but polycotton and, hopefully , waterproof.
