Chez Gerard Brasserie, Manchester & London

Myself and three friends dined at Brasserie Gerrard in Albert Square Manchester just before Christmas. The experience was disappointing. It was very cold in the restaurant, the service was slow, and when the staff made mistakes with our orders they seemed to think it was our fault and made no apology. A couple of my friends thought that the food (main courses) was fine, but one thought the quality very poor, as did I. I had boeuf bourguignon and it tasted of very little but salt. I suspect it had been warmed up or kept warm for quite some time. I won't be visiting Brasserie Gerrard again.

We have eaten here several times and always had good meals, their steaks are fab and chips are deliciously addictive!

Last time my prawns came without the pancetta as they had run out but they didn't adjust the bill so worked out about £8 for four prawns!

Am not a pudding person but their sorbets are lush and the espresso was really good

We used the tesco restaurant vouchers on our last visit and they accepted them without complaint.

I have tried several meals at Chez Gerard brasserie, and all have been excellent! I have had one of the best steaks I have ever tasted at this restaurant. Service is good, and the ambiance is excellent for small groups.
