I Visited Belgo Centraal At Covent Garden With A G

I visited Belgo Centraal at Covent Garden with a group of 10 people on the night of 13.06.2009. This was my second visit to the Belgo Centraal branch. I am Turkish and a frequent patron at their Istanbul branch in Nisantasi. I'm also a practising Muslim and we do not eat pork. I ordered a Mediterranean Mussel platter as my main course tonight, but the waitress brought me the Fiorentina Mussel platter instead which has thin strips of bacon on it. I argued with the waitress that this was not what I ordered and I did not eat pork since I was a Muslim. Our waitress insisted that this was the Mediterranean platter but since I knew that it wasn't (this is probably the 8th time I'm ordering it.) I asked her to bring me the correct order. After waiting for 20 minutes (and starving while everyone else at the table ate their meals, offering to share their food with me.) another dish of Fiorentina mussel platter showed up! Although this was not what I ordered, I had long understood that our Oriental waitress did not furnish the essential language skills to fulfil my simple desire of eating a Mediterranean Mussel Platter, so I ignored this fact and started eating my dish, assuming that they had freshly cooked one without any bacon in it. A friend sitting next to me warned me that the plate looked exactly the same as the one I had sent away and suggested that the cook had only removed the pieces of smoked bacon, recooked the same platter and served it to me; but I found the idea ridiciluous and argued with him and said he was making a mistake and Belgo would never do such thing. However, at the end of my dish, I accidentally ate a piece of bacon hidden inside my dish, and realized that my friend was right in the first place. I cannot find the words to express my feelings at that point, but I'll try: Belgo does not find it enough that they are charging £9.95 for a simple platter of cheese and mussels, but they have to find more ways of saving money and employ incompetent people who cannot speak and understand simple English as waitresses, and since even that's not enough, they have to be so cheap to re-cook the wrong meal after only removing the bacon from it instead of caring to prepare a fresh one and serve the correct meal to a loyal customer.
