Rude Argumentative Staff, Like Fawlty Towers Restaurant
A new manager and rude staff in the restaurant. I just wanted to have something to eat and use up my 'free' hot drink as a member. Sat down with my 4 dogs and chatted with a customer. It was 3 of my lil dogs birthdays & was trying to enjoy ourselves. I waited for half an hour in total! One of my dogs peed on the floor, and I caught one of the waiting staff's attention. She told me to leave if I don't clean it up and I had my hands full! I was there 2 weeks before and a member of staff mopped it up. I refused and asked for the manager. I wasn't given her name and none of them were wearing a name badge. She was so rude. No one had complained. The manager came over and his attitude was that the company do not allow restaurant staff to use mops and clear up dog pee. He then criticised me for my dogs barking. Another staff member came over moaning about dogs in the café whilst she was clearing it up. I thanked her then I overheard the rude one gossiping about me to her colleague and I wanted to see the manager again. Then my dogs got upset and started to bark. I was trying to keep them quiet and I was upset at being spoken to like that. Then customers started complaining and the manager told me to leave. Then a customer walked over to my table and started moaning. I told them my dogs are being upset. I was 'ganged' up on as I was on my own and walked out. Two customers came up to me supporting me. I still wanted to complain as also being denied my 'free' drink. I put my dogs in the car and went back in to get the complaints procedure. I had to talk to the garden centre manager again, who was impatient with me when putting the info in my phone. Then a staff member who cleaned up the pee came over and started arguing with me. The manager just stood there and only said something to her because I complained about her arguing with a customer.
I've been a customer for about 10 years and won't be going back there again. I'm trying to obtain a refund of £12 membership fee as its only February and have only used 2 of my drink vouchers. I didn't receive the birthday ones last year?
I won't miss their high prices and happy to go somewhere else.

Garden Furniture -curva Sofa Set
This furniture comes with lots of warnings on the pamphlet enclosed-one states the legs should all be on the ground!
Ha impossible!
Where the legs screw in the welds are so bad that instead of being flat you are screwing into a randomly raised surface meaning the legs can never be level!
The legs should be screwing in to a flat frame- if you have the right legs that is - the legs supplied for the table were 3 of 1 kind and 1 of another!
Then when you come to report the problem the phone no on the documentation is "not available".
Working harder - you then pursue customer services via Google and find there is no number to call-you have the palaver of having to write an email with name age address "are you a robot" etc.
The auto response email says the turnaround time should be within 2days.
We've already waited a month for the incorrect delivery!
The product quality is dire and the customer service insulting.
On the website it says you should repackage the product with all it's original packaging and labels for return.
We really haven't got time for this !
Don't bother with this company-unless you have plenty of time and can afford to waste lots of money!
Fantastic Service
Have just purchased a set of conservatory furniture from Dobies Monifieth. A bit complicated as it involved purchasing a set and then an order to purchase a second 2 seater to match.
Dealt with Carlo and found him extremely efficient, helpful and very pleasant. First delivery next week so looking forward to enjoying our furniture.

Poor Fish Experience
been several times to Carlisle store to buy fish. on 3 occasions staff gave me wrong sex fish, resulting in males killing each other. I complained in store and to manager, had no reply from manager and staff were not interested. 70% of fish has died within 3-4 month. been very costly and its too much in fuel to get a 'replacement' fish every time. I will not be returning, found a pet store that is healthy fish and staff know how to sex them! lack of customer service and managers hiding from complaints. BAD
Dobbies Edinburgh Pet Department
My review concerns the pet department. Although in the past I was always satisfied in this case I am not.I was hoping to start a marine tank and after the tank and its equipment was running for a while took a sample of the water to Dobbies to take advantage of its testing service before putting fish inside. I was told all was fine and purchased fish for the tank. After three days the fish died I took the fish and a water sample back to Dobbies. They informed me the salinity was too high! I asked how this was possible when the water was tested by them and I was told everything was fine? The manager proceeded to give me a condescending lengthy lecture on how they would not test for salinity he was getting to the ranting level however I consider it the usual situation regarding the complex's of an irrelevant little man. I was refunded the cost of the dead fish however a great pity they died in the first place! It is disappointing that what I would consider the main fundamental test regarding a marine tank was not done so beware water tests at this branch of Dobbies are in no way reliable!
Breakfast
Me and my family went for a breakfast at dobbies this morning in Milton Keynes as we attend dobbies very regularly as the food is normally to a good standard however today as I took my first bite I experienced the longest gray hair I have ever seen I pulled it out as I moved the odd sausage and hash brown I discovered another two hairs so I called over a manger and showed him in which his instant reaction was no one that works here has blonde or grey hair then instantly looked at the three blonde ladies I was having my breakfast with. In response he offered me a refund for my breakfast and a fresh one only to come back and say breakfast has gone as it is 11:30 so I was offered my hair ridden breakfast back which I declined. I was not happy about this so asked to speak to a higher up manager (typical british thing to do) and the store manager mark came over and was the least sympathetic person I have ever met and said we have given you your money back what more do you want. He did offer me lunch but I had already had my fix of a sausage and hairs so declined and want something as a good will gesture in which he remarked no one worked there with grey or blonde hair so no. After a simple complaint that could if been resolved easily I was left to feel like a criminal as I had done this to achieve a free breakfast. I have always been a fan of dobbies but after my experience I will not be eating there again as I would prefer a macdonalds breakfast even though the quality is not great there is a no hair guarantee.
Poor Attitude
Visited the Ashford branch and saw a garden chair I liked thought it was expensive. Decided to think about it. Looked on line at the item a few times. Two days later it became unavailable online so I decided to try and purchase the one I had seen before I lost the chance.rang the store and was told the show model was still in the shop. Got put through to the furniture department where a very surly girl told me the previous girl was mistaken and the item was out of stock and had been for some weeks. I tried to tell her that I had been in the store and sat in it a couple of days before but she was adamant that this was impossible. I did not believe her and drove to the store- some distance away- to discover that the display model was still there and that there were 2 more in stock. Tried to relay my experience to staff who did not want to listen! Clearly some staff don't actually want to sell stuff!
Reptile Section
I am disgusted and appalled at how the milton keynes shop keep their reptiles. I have emailed the store manager to inform him how they should keep their tortoises and advised him how poorly their tortoise is becoming as they've had it in their shop now for a very long time. There's not one thing that they're doing that is good for that poor little thing.
Of course I've had no response through email and nothing has changed.
I will never ever be setting foot in any of dobbies again. I will NOT support cruelty to animals!
Poor Show
Called in to shop at Dobbies Shepton Mallet.
NO staff around to help.
Rude man in Aquarium area not interested in serving me.
Garden centre help nowhere to be seen.
Lack of knowledge of what's in stock when I finally find someone to help so time wasted.
Difficult to see garden plants as roses in rhododendrons and A- Z of shrubs non- existent order all confusing

How on earth can a store like this get it's customer service so wrong.
Queues as only one till in operation.
Lucky to have a queue but maybe not for much longer as everyone was raising eyes and sighing.
Autumn Bulbs
I have just visited your Garden centre in Lisburn today (Sunday) looking for Autumn bulbs. I just want to congratulate you on getting your priorities right - there was no Autumn bulbs but plenty of Christmas Decorations. Perhaps I should plant Christmas baubles instead and see what happen. Come on Dobbies stick to what you are known for i.e. plants, seeds and bulbs not Christmas decorations 4 months before Christmas, what's next Easter eggs?
