Like The Previous Reviewer I Too Have Had Serious
Like the previous reviewer I too have had serious problems with this product.
I had this same product for about 4 years before it quit working which was pretty good going although the ceramic coating came off after about two years.
I recently bought a new pair thinking they were still good enough value.
This time I have used them only three times and already the ceramic coating is off 40% of one plate. I have returned the product and will never buy again.
Avoid!!!

Having Never Used Straighteners On My Hair Before,
Having never used straighteners on my hair before, I didn't really want to spend big, so when I saw the Vidal Sassoon VS5316 Ceramic Straighteners for £20 I caved in and gave them a try. To my surprise they worked great, even on my thick hair. Being a bloke, I only have short hair, so I can't be certain they'll work as good on longer hair, but I don't see there being a problem.
Now for the bad bit, and pretty much the main reason for writing this review. Even though they worked great at the start, after about 3 months it was all down hill! The ceramic coating on the plates started to wear and eventually flake off, leaving exposed metal, which badly damaged my hair. It may have just been a bad batch or something, because it on occurred on the one plate; but to be honest they started to loose there effectiveness before the coating came off.
Overall, I think you get what you pay for. I just wished I'd kept the manufactures guarantee, that way I could have sent them back and got a new pair every 3 months haha, well maybe!
