I Generally Cook My Own (uk Resteraunt Style) Indi
I generally cook my own (UK resteraunt style) Indian curry's at home as I find them at least as good as most Indian resteraunts I have tried, some of the dishes at my local in Hastingsa are better than my cooking.
We've been to the Rajinda Pradesh at Elvenden Forest in Suffolk four times now, the first time we visited this Center Parcs we went once, the second time we went every night we where there because we loved the food so much, the main courses where delicious, and the menu points out which dishes are 'properly' prepared and which ones are thrown together to arder (I'm paraphrasing here), we only tried the properly prepared and marinaded dishes so I can't speak for the other dishes.
I will agree the dishes where a bit on the oily side, but still delicious, rich in flavour, the main problem was the value, the portions both of curry and rice where very small, the popadoms where a quid each and really not very tasty.
The Decor was really very good, for our last evening on our winter break we got a lovely two seater table by the window, and the staff where very friendly, if a little slow even when the reseraunt was half empty.
Overall I would recommend this resteraunt, especially for a tasty treat on your last day, but if you've got a big appetite make sure you've got the deep pockets to match!

I Have Been Cooking Indian Food Commercially For O
I have been cooking Indian food commercially for over 30 years and know all the tricks! Rajinda Pradesh at centre parks are unfortunately like most UK Indian restaurants... pastes, salt, pre-made and full of food colouring especially 'tandoori red' which I wouldn't eat if you paid me and certainly wouldn't give to children.I sat in horror after trying the one in the lakes. Children were being served bright red chicken tikka masala that came out 5 minutes after it was ordered. The colour was a clear give away that they use tandoori red food colouring and lots of it. THIS IS VERY BAD for you and VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY BAD for children. Shame on you centre parks. Sure the service is friendly - they are all centre parks staff. Please DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN EAT HERE.
Bit of a harsh review...most top Indian chefs in London can command six figure salaries,so you won't get one in some glorified holiday park. You obviously know far more about Indian food than Mr Joe Soap, who seems happy enough having feasted on KFC or chips for most of the time.If it is well cooked and presented then it is probably a treat for many if the price is right.I am lucky enough to have sampled a real Indian curry, with all the careful preperation, and you are right,a world away from what we get! But,Kids probably wouldn't eat it,hence the colouring......

Rajinda Pradesh, Center Parcs, Was A Very Clean Re
Rajinda Pradesh, Center Parcs, was a very clean restaurant, particularly the toilets. Polite and attentive staff - well trained. Baby friendly - happy to provide high chair. Tasty curries - above average quality.Thinking that the full menu was a little on the pricey side (for a curry) we opted for the early doors menu at two courses for £9.95 a head. For this, you get choice of starter and choice of main with choice of rice and naan to share. We felt that although the curries we chose (lamb jalfreizi and chicken passanda) were tasty, the rice portion was slightly small and the jalfreizi was far too oily. One of our curries was particularly oily. Poppadoms were disappointing and very pricey ( £1 per poppadom!), Chutneys - mango and raita only. and ludicrously small amounts served on ridiculously large plates. That said, the quality of the meat was good and on the whole very flavoursome.Overall,a highly enjoyable experience.

Ok, So This Is Centre Parcs - A Chain Of Family Or
OK, so this is Centre Parcs - a chain of family orientated outdoor and leisure facilities - but it does have at least one excellent restaurant - the Rajinda Pradesh (I've only tried the one at Longleat).
Situated alongside the (man-made) lake, it looks out onto hills and water - what else would you expect?
The service is excellent, the ambience great, children's dishes delicious and varied (from "meatballs with spag." to "vegetable korma"). They also do half sized dishes for older kids and kids sized rice. Excellent!
The food though is better than you would expect. I'm gifted in having three excellent curry houses within walking distance in my village. However, Rajinda's food is far better.
It's tasty, described in simple terms on the menu, and mild IS mild, Medium IS medium and hot IS hot. It's sounds daft, but it's amazing how many places get this wrong. I had a chicken jalfrezi and my partner the lamb bhuna. Both were excellent. So much so, my 9 year old, who'd opted for a half portion of the Chicken Korma from the adult menu, pinched additional mouthfuls from both! They were beautifully cooked and not oily. The pilau rice was fragrant, and the Naan full of flavour, and again not oily.
My 3 year old sadly couldn't be drawn away from the terribly un-Indian meatballs with spaghetti, but also helped her sister out with the korma.
A great meal, affordable and drinkable wine, and a lovely warm welcome. We wandered back to our cabin in the dark, through the woods, stinking of curry and with very satisfied stomachs.
Main courses are around the £9 mark with kids dishes around £5. With a chutney tray and some drinks, including a bottle of wine, we were less than £50 the lighter, including tip.
