I chose the Virginia Hayward hamper collection to send a special thank you to neighbours of my elderly sister-in-law. They had gone overboard to help her out when she needed cataract surgery at a hospital quite some distance away.

The hamper proved to be a superb way of trying to repay their kindness.

The site provided a fantastic selection and the service and delivery timing was excellent.

The hampers are good and wrapped and packaged well, but the delivery again this year was very poor, will not use again, too stressful. The delivery was not on we had to chase order, when it did arrive the driver would not assist with the drop off and left, two days later as we had to fight for a re-delivery it was returned, driver not happy.

We ordered a hamper to be delivered on December 22nd. The recipients were HOME (implied by Virgina Hayward team they were not). Hamper left with a neighbor with no note to recipients to say it had been and no email to myself. Neighbors did not refrigerate sticker and by the time it got to receiptents all items except a bottle of wine and tub of cupboard pate had perished. Two emails and a phone call later we were finally offered our delivery fee refunded, £6, and declined a full refund of £60 or a gesture of good will to a new customer. Terrible service, waste of money, frustrating experience. Please avoid.

Have ordered many hampers from this fantastic independent business over the years. They have always delivered on both quality and value. All hampers have reached their destination without a problem and the recipients have always been delighted with the contents and products. I have used them for my business and personally and can't recommend them highly enough.

Ordered the Love from Santa Hamper as a gift. Arrived with some items missing, all items broken, boxes they were in were damp yet the box they were placed is was not at all damp on the inside or outside. The inner boxes were damaged. The items were not packed in the outer box with any padding or support so you could pick the box up and hear them rattling around inside. The outer box was not marked fragile which you would expect. You can smell damp on the inner boxes and I would not feed anyone these items. I have put in a complaint and am waiting for any response.

Poor service from Virginia Hayward- would not recommend sending hampers to clients or abroad. The ordering was a difficult process with many wasted phone calls spent on retrieving the VAT receipt and tracking information for those gifts sent abroad. Post delivery it has come to light many respondents were unsure of the sender. With individual personalised messages written for each client and sent in Virginia Hayward this was not expected. Further time was spent contacting our client to see whether their package was actually received and clarifying us as the sender. Very unorganised and dissappointing service and would encourage interested customers to think before spending costly hampers from this website.

We received the £50 hamper as a gift. The contents must be the cheapest they could source, mostly unknown brands including one item from Indonesia! There was a tub of broken crisps and a small pack of fudge which is simply revolting, but the very small packet of jelly babies was OK.

They get good reviews because those buying them find the ordering process easy and those who receive them are too embarrassed to say how awful the contents are.

I ordered approximately 100 pounds for x 2 gifts and paid extra for named day delivery. Only one item was delivered and this was delivered without the message card, so the recipient had no idea who sent it! The only way the confusion was somewhat solved was through Facebook. No idea where the second PAID item is. I suspect that the owner has a great website and products, but has no idea about customer service let alone satisfaction, the least of which would be to actually send the item that has been paid for. I will continue to try to contact via telephone, but advise any potential future customers to simply go elsewhere.

My Nan really enjoyed the hamper that I ordered this year from Virginia Hayward, although she did say that the crackers were a little bit dry. I'd have preferred two bottles of wine, but the sprakling wine was actually really nice. Netx year I'll see if there are two bottles before ordering!
