More Red Then Purple

It's okay color but not what I wanted, I want purple hair I have also used schwarzkopf live ultra bright purple, it did become pink in my hair so I mixed blue ultra bright and purple then it became purple maybe it is the same with this if you maybe mixed it with blue maybe it would become purple. Problem with the ultra bright color is that it washes out fast so I don't want to color my hair so often. So I thought when the bleached hair grown out I would try this, I really want purple hair, I use hair chalk to get it more purple. I still have to experiment to get the color I want.

But I have noticed many colors have to much red in them, also when I wanted to color my hair brown, I had to really think what color I bought to get brown and not red brown, even if I like orange hair.

It Came Out Exactly As It Looked On The Box!

The very reason some of you, didn't get the right result, was because it's best to lighten your hair blonde, before you put this dye on it. It's really the only way of guaranteeing that it will be the same colour as shown on the front of the box. I had mine blonde, and so when I put the Mystic Violet over the blonde colour, it was exactly what I wanted it to look like. It was a dark pink, when I applied it to my hair, then during the development time, it looked like it had turned black/almost black. When I rinsed, conditioned, and dried my hair, I was VERY pleased with the result. It's a subtle shade of purple. It's what I call a CLASSY shade of dark purple, because it's not too dark, and not too bright. The only reason why it goes dark pink, when you apply it, is because of the mixing. Don't let it make you think that you'll end up with dark pink hair. You won't. You may get a shock when you rinse the colour out, as a lot of the red pigments, wash away in the water, but obviously, so that the purple can show through, better. It looks exactly how it does on the box. Very impressed :)

Great Colour! Love It! Will Definitely Use Again :d

I've had my hair dyed before using blacks, browns, and even once had red in it. Although every time I've dyed my hair, someone else was in control of the procedure.

Today, I finally took the plunge and decided to attempt dyeing my hair myself, and I've wanted to go purple for a while, and wanted something quite bright, but being a bit of a magnet for screw-ups, I chose to go for something a little less outrageous, and immediately fell in love with the colour shown on the box for Mystic Violet.

Being a first-time hair dyer, I am so glad I chose to use this product. It was so easy to use to apply, and I have shoulder length, fairly thick hair, which one bottle covered happily with some to spare!

The colour came out amazingly! Almost identical to the shade shown on the box, since my natural colour was a light brown. It's slightly dark at the minute because I have only just done it, but after a wash or two, it will be a perfect shade.

My only problem was when rinsing the dye out, my hair never fully ran clear, so after about 15-20minutes of rinsing, I decided it was enough and added the conditioning lotion.

Admittedly my white towel regrets that decision, but it will wash easily enough, and as much as my back looked like I had painted it, using make-up wipes and nail polish remover managed to get the majority off and it is barely noticeable now.

I would definitely recommend this. The colour is amazing and the process was so easy. Until I get more experienced with dyes and worry less about missing a spot when using vibrant colours, I'll definitely be using this to top up my colour.

TLDR: Amazing colour! Easy application. Only 4 pound at Asda.

Disappointed

Been using this company brand for years, always been red though for around 4 years now but I was really bored of red, so I went for purple. Stripped the red out of my hair completely and dyed it purple a few days later. My hair isn't anywhere near purple, it's still red with small hints of purple. I am disappointed to be honest. The company should try to make the formula the same colour as it is on the front picture. I'll keep trying to dye it purple, if that doesn't work out, then I will be rather upset.

Waste Of Time And Money! Want My Money Back!

been dying my hair for years with schwarzkopf products, but always been black (tbh you can't get black hair dye wrong so that isn't a saving grace) but I thought I'd try something a little different.

Having black hair I stripped the bottom section that I wanted violet with Adee Phelan's Hair colour remover (worked a treat! went to my original colour!) then applied the schwarzkopf dye. I waited 30 mins like it said then washed it all off. Being soaking wet I blew dry my hair and low and behold, I had simply redyed the bottom section of my hair black. I can either compare it next to the previous dyed black hair .

Not only did I waste my money buying this product, I might aswell not stripped my hair either so money lost on that, even though that DID what IT SAID ON THE BOX

looking to get my money back, not pleased at all.

True!! i died my hair pure violet at the hairsalong.. but i wanted it more purple so i bought the product from schwarzkopf and decided to try it since at the backside of the box said it's going to work on black, darkbrown hair and such. But that product turned my hair black!!! so not worth the money!.. waste of money

Way Better Than Red!!!

going from blonde to purple was a big step but i took the challenge and now i love it and get great comments, the only down side i have to say is that it doesn't stay in long and seems to fade very quickly so i find myself re dying my hair just about every two weeks..

I have naturally brown hair,I did exactly what it said on the box. It did not, however, end up the same colour as shown on the box.It ended up black with red roots with a purplish tinge to it.I love the colour but it is not the same colour as shown so do not be fooled.

What A Mess

Basically, I bought this colour a while back. I wanted to go purple but because of where I work, I couldn't.

So instead (being as stubborn as I am) I bought Cyber Purple too (thinking it would give me an almost unnoticeable purple tone as the box implies it'll turn your hair a slightly redder colour.

HOW WRONG I WAS.

Having not dyed my hair at all, The cyber purple was fantastic in colour! I got a really great purple on my hair (exactly like the colour that's on the mystic violet box funnily enough). A few weeks later, my roots needed done and I still had that mystic violet box of dye so I used that. It completely ruined my colour! It's red - not purple at all! It's so red, I actually thought maybe a huge mistake has been made and Schwarzkopf are packaging the two different purples in the wrong box!?

Mystic violet came out like a faded version of the picture on the cyber purple box.

And cyber purple came out like the picture of mystic violet!?

Either way, my hairs too dark now (thanks to mystic violet) to get a nice strong purple colour.

Oh and not to mention, if you have hair that's even slightly past your shoulders in length, get two boxes! Maybe I just have mega thick hair but there's really not enough dye in the single bottle for a whole head.

I shall be going to a hair dressers next time.

Q&A

samandmorton

Just wondering how similar mystic violet colour is to the xxl ultra brights purple punk? I have medium brown hair and recently dip dyed the ends with purple punk, adored the colour, which took really well even on my brown hair, but after 2 weeks was almost unnoticeable, which was very disappointing as I only washed my hair twice!

Looking for a permanent colour similar to purple punk, any suggestions?
