Unacceptably Poor Service

Been with Mr Site for 2 years now, but will be jumping ship to Squarespace once my membership expires. Their service is a joke. They regularly experience technical difficulties so your website regularly goes down. The fact that pressing the Help button on their site leads to a dead link says it all. Their live chat isn't much use either, with the customer service person on the other end unable to say when the site will be fixed and back up. Avoid.

Avoid Mr Site!!

Utter bs! - reality check they are terrible at customer service and kept doing things without asking my permission and mess them all up. MR SITE account page is obviously not up-to-date given Mr Site Support staffs have to add or edit the infos manually. Not updated in real time.

I rate MR SITE -No Star- (unfortunately minimum is 1 star need to be given.) for being rude and hung up on me while I was struggling to rectify my email issues.

None Better For The Price!

Ok so I give Mr.Site a 4 out of 5 stars. I have used several web hosting companies and although Mr.Site is not my favorite, its great/perfect for the price. Many web hosting companies I have used charge for paypal integration onto your site, however Mr.Site does not which is a HUGE plus. I give Mr. Site 4 stars and not 5 due to how hard it is to actually make your website look good. Its a difficult task for someone like me with limited web design skills. I would not recommend Mr. Site to anyone who wants a instant great looking site without putting a little effort in. I purchased a year subscription of the Essential Package. While creating my site, I had a few questions along the way. Mr. Sites Customer Service is SUPERB and the main reason I give them 4 stars. They have live chat during normal business hours and are quick to answer any questions you may have. Mr.Site is more bang for your buck, and with a little time and patience you can have that great looking site you want for half the price or lower than other web hosting companies.

Tantamount To Blackmail

It is worrying just how many disreputable businesses are about!

I have just had an urgent email to ring a person in London regarding one of my websites that was being hosted by a company called MR SITE ... (Please remember this company!) for about 6 years now. I was told that my website had expired on 5 November. My doesn't time fly ... as it seems like it was only yesterday that I renewed it?

Well, they wanted me to renew hosting for a 'special offer rate' of something like £89 for 2 years ... £59 (I believe) for one year. I said I would need to think about it and would renew online if I felt this was value for money ... more especially as this seemed a lot for the service provided. This was not possible ... he said; I had to renew straight away ... so I suspected a hoax. I argued that I have received no previous reminder so how was I to know he was legitimate as, like a mug, I'd not bothered to check before calling him. I said that I would consider the 'offer' but would probably move to another supplier but was told that my site had been already taken down an hour ago. Well, isn't this professional?

So, if this jerk was who he said he was ... then I feel I am better off not dealing with his company.

I don't usually write reviews but feel compelled in this case. Mr site did the same thing to me. Rang me to say my site had been removed, pretty much demanded £50 there and then to re-instate it. I refused on the basis I don't pay cold callers over the phone anything!!

I got onto the online renewal to find it had indeed expired (where was my e-mail to notify me?) Again the guy sounded like the aforementioned Ali G. I decided to not renew there and then.

problem is 10 days later, I find they have raided my linked bank card for the £50. the Site remains deleted. Now out of pocket I phoned up to get an Indian call centre who told me I would have to e-mail the support desk. 14 days ago I e-mailed surprise surprise no response!!! I have e-mailed again, this time I have threatened legal action unless the £50 is returned. Check your accounts people..have Mr Site taken the dosh anyway?

I had a similar experience. The chap sounded like an Ali G impersonator. Made me feel like a punter. I have tried to renew but the instructions I have been given don't work.

I do not have anymore time to try to deal with this company.

Avoid Mr Site

I have used this company for domain hosting and their Takeaway product for website and webmail and recommend that those reading this do themselves a favour and avoid at all costs. My webmail was often inaccessible. Customer support is very poor and communications are substandard. A month before renewal, they debited my credit card. I asked for a refund and told them that I wanted to transfer my domain elsewhere. That was when the trouble really started: they started bouncing all my email. They asked me for £15.00 to transfer the domain which I agreed and suggested that they take if off the money they owed me and refund the balance. They contacted me again asking for my credit card details because they had refunded all the money taken from my credit card. I said you have them. They said we don't keep customer's credit card details. Well how did they manage to debit my credit card with renewal charges without asking me? Plainly they are dishonest as well as incompetent. 1 month later and they still have not transferred the domain.

Te Worst Hosting Company In The World?

Not a good service. Slow and sometimes could not retrieve emails.

They set up a recurring payment without my authority and took money from my account without notice.

I contacted them and asked for a refund as I wanted to move my domain.

No refund but they have withdrawn service and are bouncing emails.

All this 14+ days before the account is due for renewal.

I have asked them to transfer my domain but thay have not done so.

I have complained and been told I will get a call back - nothing.

Is It A Scam? Stay Away

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED 'COMPANY'- MR SITE.

When my package only had a month before renewal I decided that I wanted to try a new company with better designed websites, so i contacted Mr site to ask to have another company host my domain name only but still use Mr Site until my contract ran out. I contacted them by email 5 times with no reply and by live chat 21 times also with no reply. Eventually someone answered me after I enquired about one of their more expensive packages and rung on their numbers that costs 50p a minute. They told me that i could not have my domain name back and they would keep it for 5 years unless i paid £15. When i refused, I mean why should i pay them more money after the service or more like the lack of service i had received. Technically they were providing me with a faulty service. The girl was very unpolite and patronising saying that they normally charge £25 to unlock the domain name as though they were doing me a favour!. In the end i was forced to pay the money (at least I would have no more trouble from them or so I thought ...) the next day I went to check on my website and it was no longer there, my email account that I had also paid for was also deleted. I had still 15 days until my contract with them ran out and they had deleted my Site and would not speak to me after numerous emails and phonecalls !

STAY AWAY unless you want weeks of hassle and your webiste with all your hard work to be deleted while your still paying for their service- a complete scam !

I am going through the very same thing. They have given me the run-around now for almost a month until my site expired.

My advice. DON'T USE Mrstire.

So Bad

Don't touch Mr Site with a barge pole - advertising says "easy", "simple", this is so not the case. One of the worst services I have ever had the misfortune to be involved with. Their "gurus" (IF YOU ACTUALLY GET CONNECTED TO 1) have standard answers they give you and my experience is that nothing ever gets resolved. There is actually NOTHING I like about Mr Site!

Frustrating Support, I'd Rather Bang My Head Against A Wall

I contacted Mr Site to delete my account a few months ago. Sorry, we don't delete accounts so wait until your domain expires.

I contacted them again, yes we'll delete your account. My site and account continue to function as they did.

I contact them a third time, again your account will be deleted within 24-48 hours. Account still remains, site taken offline.

I contact them a fourth time. Your account has been deleted. So, I try to login and oh look, it works.

Mr Site operates a typical out-of-touch overseas call centre. Sometimes it's a case of "we can't perform this action" (they can't be bothered) and other times it's "we have performed the actions required" (they haven't, nothing has changed).

I am now contemplating what options I have left or whether to just leave my details with Mr Site who are probably breaching some sort of Privacy Act by refusing deletion of my personal information and lieing to me.

Here's a tip for anyone considering an easy Hosting provider. Go for someone who uses wording such as or similar to "easy" or "simple site-builder" and has a straightforward Cancellation policy.

Mr.site Having Stuck It Out With Mr.site For Two

MR.SITE Having stuck it out with Mr.Site for two years, I'm frankly apalled at how BAD it is. The website design is, as everyone has said, limited and clunky, often crashing halfway through setting out or uploading pages, and losing all your work in process - and I'm talking *very* often: about one in three or four pages, for me - it's also incredibly slow to edit due to upload times. The links which you put in to your site often seem to change or fail at random, and the technical help is non-existant. I've phoned the helpline on auto-redial for hours with no joy. I've also e-mailed when they're supposed to get back to you. They have, a few times, often several days later, and with such random and form advice that I suspect that it's an automated program (which doesn't explain the delay to get back to you), forcing you to re-write the same enquiry several times, then wait several days for another form and useless reply. After weeks of this, I've given up. Finally they cancelled my site without informing me that my annual fee was due. I can't even get through to the sales line, let alone the helpline.

Bottom line: DON'T BUY IT. GO ELSEWHERE
