Simpson Diamondback

Just received my special order metallic blue Simpson Diamondback helmet. This is one awesome looking helmet. The Dupont paint finish is outstanding. The helmet is also very comfortable to wear and lightweight. The Carbon-X lining is soft and the cheek pads seem to be some sort of memory foam. The helmet fits like a glove and feels very secure on my head. The decent sized eyeport provides a great view which eliminates having to turn your head too far to the right or left. I have not used this helmet in a car yet but I did try it out on my motorcycle and found it to be very quiet and stable no matter which direction I turned my head. There was absolutely no buffeting. This is all probably due to the raised diamond design sculped into the helmet shell. The thick shield is optically correct and has detents to allow it to remain in a couple of different positions. There is also a felt lining around the rubber eyeport. Regardless of the size you choose, the shell on this helmet is large and fully covers your head, The chin bar is huge and provides excellent coverage below your chin. Overall, I am very happy with this helmet and would buy another one in a heartbeat.

If you are looking for something different, this is a great helmet. There is definitely nothing else out there that looks like it. I am currently waiting on a tinted sheld which will give it an even more menacing look.

With regard to size, I've noticed with the past couple of Simpsons that I have owned that they seem to run 1/8th size smaller. I normally wear a 7 in helmets but 7 1/8 was a perfect fit in this helmet.

Just purchased a Simpson Diamondback helmet in metallic blue. These helmets are Snell SA2005 rated with a nomex interior. Helmets are made to order meaning that my helmet wasn't sitting on a shelf in some warehouse, it was manufactured after the order was placed. The manufacture sticker inside the helmet is dated.

This is one awesome looking helmet. There is definitely nothing out there that looks like it. The black nomex interior of the helmet feels plush on your head. The helmet is extremely lightweight and the view through eyeport is outstanding providing a good periferal view without having to turn your head to far. The helmet is also very quiet. I took it out for a test run on my motorcycle and was very pleased with it's performance. The way the helmet is sculpted with the raised diamond on the crown of the helmet creates a nice airflow over the helmet without a lot of buffeting. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and plan on getting some good mileage in this helmet.

I highly recommend this helmet to anyone participating in motorsports activities. This helmet looks best in black with dark smoke shield but the other colors look good on this helmet as well. If you have an extra $100 to spend, the rattlesnake paint which changes colors according to the light is awesome.
