Jlbiwm1402 Failure
The machine offers the range of choices representative for the price bracket. But it is badly designed .... difficult to repair as the thing is rebadged for john lewis But they know nothing about it ...
crucially the drum is inside a gray plastic shroud which is STUCK together ... so repair to loose spiders or bearing replacement IS IMPOSSIBLE ....
rubbish really ....

Good Wash Quality But The Machine Itself Did Not Last Long
There is a good choice of wash cycles and the clothes come out very clean. It also has a good eco wash. However, our machine packed up after four and a half years and the quotes to reapir it were anything from £160 to £290 so we just brought a new machine!

Machine Failed After 10 Days Use. John Lewis Custo
Machine failed after 10 days use. John Lewis customer care was good although had to wait a week for replacement.
It is easy to use and the wash quality is satisfactory although spin cycle is noisy. Provided that there are no further problems can consider it good value overall.
My land lady recently replaced a very good Bosch machine with a JL1200 and I can see from her perspective that its price and durability are very appealing. However she doesn't have to live with it! This machine takes over 2 hours to complete a standard 30 degree wash, the spin cycle sounds like a Jumbo jet taking off and the main wash is not much quieter. Given the time and hassle a washing load takes in this machine I am unimpressed by the quality of the wash and to add insult to injury I now have to wash my jumpers by hand as there is no cold wash option. Clever old John Lewis, they have captured the market for mean landladies.

I Have Previously Had Bosch And Zanussi Machines W
I have previously had Bosch and Zanussi machines which cleaned my clothes perfectly . However this machine doesnt seem capable of removing stains without me having to apply stain remover. If I dont,I cant get the stains out in further washes. I pride myself in getting my whites really white, but since having this machine, nothing is white any longer. The towels are off white and dull. I wouldnt recommend this machine to anyone.

Brought Machine From John Lewis. Machine Very Nois
Brought machine from John Lewis. Machine very noisy and moves around in kitchen when on spin. Engineer attended and said it is a problem with this machine that the pump is noisy and when on spin it will run around the kitchen. Still waiting for John Lewis to get back to us there advise was to put a rubber mat under the machin not the response I was expecting.

I've Had This Machine For Approximately A Year, I
I've had this machine for approximately a year, I wouldn't recommend it, it doesn't actually seem to clean anything properly, lots of items I wash and then need to use vanish on or some concentrate washing liquid to get out any marks and then re-wash. Whites seem to come out not quite white enough for me, I end up doing a boil wash in a pan on the cooker to get them back to white and I never mix whites. If I was buying another machine now, I'd do a lot more research.

Pros: Simple To Understand Wash Programmer And Fle
Pros: Simple to understand wash programmer and flexibility to run most main washes with a quick option or extra rinse. 3 year warranty is a particular boon (last machine was a Whirlpool which chewed two drum bearings in 15 months). Reasonably quiet in operation though has to be positioned very carefully to avoid unbalancing.
Cons: Outer case is a bit flimsy, already collected a few minor dents during install and daily use. John Lewis is delivery only, so you will need to plumb in yourself - not rocket science but some might prefer a delivery and install option.
Overall quite pleased with the machine, not as robust as maybe a Bosch or Miele but hopefully last longer than its predecessor.

John Lewis Jlwm1203. Just Bought This Machine Yes
John Lewis JLWM1203. Just bought this machine yesterday at John Lewis outlet for seconds/slightly damaged. wondered why there were so many of this model for sale, some used. Now I know. On spin it is walking across the kitchen floor and crashing into things. I would not leave the house with it running. It will be pulling the hoses off next. Is easy to use, but main wash cycle is over two hours, and spin exceptioally noisy. I was assured it was an AEG model, but powdr drawer is exactly the same as my Zanussi it is replacing, also filter hatch, filter and drain off hose are exactly the same. And my old one did not move at all- retrograde model.
When John Lewis say this model is an AEG they are technically correct as AEG is and has been for years a member of the Eletrolux group which includes Tricity Bendix and Zanussi;ie they are all badge engineered apart from the obvious cosmetic /knobs etc...differences.AEG washing machines in the distant past were all German and generally very well made upmarket machines costing alot of dosh and that is how they made their excellent name....no longer as they sold their soles to Zanussi and Co who at one time made good machines back in the 1980`s with their very good Washcraft series.Alas no longer too!To sum up saying it`s an AEG sounds posher than saying its a Zanussi. What do i think of these washing machines whichever label is written on them.....Terrible sums them up-drum bearing failure at 2.5 years is common and PCB go u/s is even more common-their a bad buy.I`m a washing machine repair chappy of 28 years and i work on this stuff every day.Buy something else....though God knows what!!!

Loved The Jlwl1203 Machine Until The Locking Mecha
Loved the JLWL1203 machine until the locking mechanism stopped working. Less than a year old and already parts are unavailable and I am still waiting for a replacement machine after a month. Isolated problem with my machine made worse by appalling customer support perhaps.

John Lewis Jlwm1203 ? Buy It! It Really Is Brillia
John Lewis JLWM1203 ? Buy it! It really is brilliant. I can't believe that such a reasonably priced washing machine has so many useful features and programmes. Child-lock - 3 yr old is very frustrated! pause programme, intensive wash, 30 minute wash and very useful hand wash + others. The wash does come out really clean and I'm washing baby clothes, toddler clothes and bibs too! Super washer and delivered spot on time too.
Q&A
Machine powers up. Select program cycle machine clicks three times does not start. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have an error on my washing machine, E20 keeps coming up on the cycle window and it stops working. Has anyone else had this problem, who could help me out?
