Recorder Was Good Price Because It Was Second Rate!
At $99 special price it looked like a bargain ( less than half of what my older Pioneer Recorder cost ) but NOW I know why!
It never conked out eraly on like some cheaper quality recorders do, picture quality was O.K, and the player had an attractive slim design, but the problems far outweighed the advantages.
- it would not play Dvix or MP3 discs ( as it claimed it would in the manual )
- Shortly into the players service life, recorded discs that had more than 40 titles would not finalize, so became coasters.
- Player would often scratch blank or rented discs that were put in it, or take eons to prepare discs for recording.
-Computers that were used to play the Samsung recorded discs often either took some time to play them, or would not play them at all.
- Often after a disc was finalized, the last titles would not play in even good quality DVD Players, almost as if they were hidden : another glitch.
Poor quality 4 hour recording mode compared to other recorders ( with

Our First Digital Dvd Recorder And Definately Our
Our first digital dvd recorder and definately our last ever samsung product we will ever buy.Sometimes a disc would be acceptable then the next time same disc would be spat out.Gave up trying to play shop bought films. Took for ever to load EPG,and turn itself off.Spits out discs even when it's off.2 years of frustration is now coming to an end ,we will buy something else, NOT A SAMSUNG.

I've Had This Samsung -sr150m Dvd Recorder For 14
I've had this Samsung -SR150M DVD Recorder for 14 months and it has finally died. When it was alive, I would at best have described it as quirky. Now it's dead, I'm delighted to say that I finally have an excuse to replace it with a Sony.
The processor inside was painfully slow. Every time you touched a button you'd think the battery must be flat in the remote - then it would suddenly responds some time later. The program guide would sometimes shift the times by an hour, so that if it condescended to record the time was out by an hour. There was noise on the video visible when the picture was black. It hated weak signals, and would lock up.It hated most types of media. A select few DVD-RW would work in it.The finalised disks were rarely readable by DVD players. The user interface was obviously devised by somebody who designs toasters, as it was totally illogical.

Would Not Recommond To Anyone Who Uses Any Type Of
Would not recommond to anyone who uses any type of discs other than retail related. Will not play any recorded DVD's from PC. Only plays retail DVD's. Very poor sound quality with this unit. Also annoying that remote does not have a volume function. You are forced to use your tv remote to adjust it.

Fabulous Image, And Dvd Contol, The Vr Mode Is Goo
Fabulous image, and dvd contol, The VR mode is good, great for editing out adverts etc...
Would recommend one, once you get used to Samsungs strange menu layout, it's easy! It would be handy if Samsung gave a list of recommended blank dvd's to use, I don't really understand the differance between 1x-2 and 1x-4.
