Do Not Buy

Visited my 88 year old mother this evening. She was very shaky and obviously distressed. Eventually told me she had allowed a demonstration to be carried out after receiving a phone call a few days ago. This was for a bath lift called a Bath Knight. It began at 11am and the man finally left at 4pm. Thats 5 hours. He talked and demonstrated and pushed and pushed for a signature from her. She had not intended to do anything other than discuss with me after he had gone. BUT she eventually felt pressured to sign up and eventually signed a pre contract form to order a lift. She has just over £2000.00 to her name. She actually signed a credit agreement for £1545.00 and the interest would be a further £255.00 over 18 months meaning a total of £1800.00. That is unbelievable and I shall be cancelling this first thing in the morning. Read the reviews on google - the product is unsafe and allows people to slip off the back and when it lowers the person enters the bathwater sat at an angle tilted to one side. A rip off. Disgusting how they kept my mother for 5 hours without even realising she had completely missed her lunch and left her exhausted. DO NOT EVEN ALLOW THEM THE TIME ON THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am really sorry to heat this, the same has happened today to my 87 year old father, absolutely disgusting, he has paid £3,000 !!!! deposit whilst they were there and then anther £2,000 when installed. He told them he wanted his daughter there but they pressurised him. Cancellation on the way tomorrow.

Unsuitable For Amputees

Owing to a bad drugs choice by hospital my husband suffered Peripheral Vascular disease in his feet and hands. As a result one leg was amputated and the other had no feeling in it. In March 2007 we were sold a Bath Knight lift for £1600. It was used 5 times - two attempts by my husband and once each by the grandchildren ! I had a major problem manouvering him onto the strap seat. Then as it lowered he found himself sitting on an angle so he needed to reposition himself by trying to wriggle along it. Not easy with only one foot and no feeling in it. In trying to do so the second time he slipped off the back of the strap and was wedged until the strap was completely down. I had to get help to get him back onto the strap before he could get out. He just didnot feel safe on it. He died 14 days after the guarantee of a partial refund ran out and they would not budge even after I explained it had only been used 5 times. So there it stays rusting ( yes rusting!) on the bathroom wall because I cannot afford to pay for an electrician to take it off and someone to re tile the bathroom wall. I have always hated it. I thought the salesman too pushy and we couldn't really afford it but husband was persuaded it would be the end of bed baths so it was bought and regretted soon after installment.

Bullies

We tried everything we could to cancel an appointment made in error with these cowboys!! They arrived and stayed for 3 hours. They used upsetting and bullying tactics. We bought just to get rid of aggressive salesman, but they refused to cancel the order later. We now have a huge lump on our wall that neither of us need or will use. DISGRACEFUL!!

absolutley agree, they are are very uncaring and dont care if they elderly person is confused or distressed.

they are definitely not talking nonsense as this has just happened to my 87 years old father. I am glad you have had a good experience but it is wrong to dismiss someone elses experience, when you were not there.

My father received a phone call while awaiting a Council Care appointment. He was told not to bother with the Council, Bath Knight will sort out everything. He telephoned me in a very distressed and confused state of mind. Luckily I was able to visit and reassure him that the original appointment would go ahead and everything was well.

These people have pressurised my 90 year old mother for two hours before leaving. She tells me she has not signed anything, but I am angry as they contacted her despite being registered with the Telephone Preference service!

The guest above is obviously a care-knight shill. They charge massively over the top, some might call it robbery and exploit vulnerable elderly people.

Had ordered a bath lift and the price quoted was not the price on invoice and now have gone the loser of a lot money. The salesmen had gained my confidence and filled in the cheque himself!!! I am a pensioner with very little saving and now they have been taken them from me!!! Be very carefully before purchasing anything.
