Philips Whirlpool AWM

Have always bought commercial size washing machines last one being a whirlpool top loader which did not fail once in the 15 years I had it. Decided to buy whirlpool awm1020 front load washing machine 18 months ago.... Huge, massive mistake!!! Have had 2 replacements since buying in 2012, both times washers pour water from the door or fail half way through a wash. Had engineers out on numerous occasions who don't understand the problems??

Massive inconvenience as I do 2 large wash loads per day, I am again without my washing machine and have to wait 2 weeks for an engineer.

Whirlpool - wouldn't touch you with a barge pole!!!!

The Philips Whirlpool AWM has been a fantastic machine, however it eats coins and the filter rubber tube connected to the drum is awful to dismantle to clear the tube exiting from the drum,it's now not draining and all other filters have been cleanes so the only thing left is the other end of the pipe which is inaccessable

The machine has been reliable for the first year, as the door seals have got worn the pipes and filter are prone to getting blocked by small items.

At least once a month I am taking the machine apart.

Bought a philips whirlpool AWMxx (can't remember the rest) along with an AWZxx (same again) dryer.

First of all the waching machine started shaking like it was about to take off. Engineer came out and found that a suspension arm wasn't attached.

Then I found out it didn't wash at all on 95 degress. Engineer came out again.

Next thing was it started leaking and stopping mid cycle.

Finally Comet came and changed it for another one.

Now, 12 months later and just out of guarantee, it stops washing correctly and doesn't spin properly. But the best bit of this is that 3 different washing machine repairers have said that this is the common problem with these machines (something to do with the timing) and that they all wouldn't touch it with a barge pole and for me to get a new one.

Aside from this the dryer starting leaking and getting as hot as my cooker and that was duly swapped as well (this one is still working luckily).
