13 Months Then Dead

Bought the Hotpoint WDL540G because it was cheap in Comet for the specifications and also looked quite nice in graphite colour. However, having owned it for 13 months, this will be my first and last Hotpoint. The drying cycle seldom dried the clothes (just steamed them!), then after my 13 months of light (I live alone) use I got the "common fault" of all the 4 lower lights flashing rapidly. Looking online, some say it is a PCB ("capacitor") fault, some say its the condenser, and others say it is blocked outlet hose. As it's out of warranty, Hotpoint and Comet (where I got it from) weren't going to fix it without a sizeable fee. Seems lots of people have a problem with this unit, complaining about "poor Indesit electronics". The warranty on repairs is only 3 months anyway so even if they did fix it for free, I might have to have an engineer out every 3 months to fix it again. It froze full of water too, and the pump out cycle won't work because of the error, so I had to siphon the water out using the outlet hose, and manually unlock the door using the plastic emergency tab located in the hidden panel at the bottom.

Machine Is About A Year And A Half Old. It Started

Machine is about a year and a half old. It started to leak a little. Couldn't work out where it was coming from. Then last weekafter a full cycle it seemed to enter its entire water content onto my kitchen floor as I watched it. Strange thing is where it came from. The water was flowing out of the detergent dispenser. It seemed the pump wasn't taking it to the waste but pumped it back up through the dispenser. Coincidently spoke to people at my work and same things happened to my colleague. Utter rubbish!

I Cursed Myself Everyday Since I Brought The Hotpo

I cursed myself everyday since i brought the Hotpoint WDL540G, it took the machine about 3drying cycles (9hours) to completely dry a 2kilo load, and its only 2 month old now and all of a sudden stop working, the POS freezes and gives flashing lights halfway of every wash.
