Bought A Supposedly Brand New Laptop Laptop From L
Bought a supposedly brand new laptop laptop from lambda-tek. Turned out to be an MDM locked, completely unusable laptop. MDM locked laptops are most often stolen devices! Very expensive mistake.

Lambdatek "the Award Winning Electronic Store"
1, Go to website main page, it says “read more here” regarding the Queen’s Award, click it. It says they can use “the Queen’s Award Emblem in advertising, marketing and on packaging for a period of five years as a symbol of their quality and success” They got it in April 2015, we are now August 2022, it expired 2.5 years ago, its still mentioned with emblem on every page and even on a flag outside the office. If you go to the queen award website it clearly explains award is expired and they not allowed to use it anymore.
2, Go to the about us page they say "outstanding feedback left on various independent review sites Don't take our word for it, have a look yourself" I did they say google is 4.5 out 5, google say 2.5 out 5 and more than 1 review in same names of staff, one of them even has a picture, which looks like one I found of him online, not accusing, just saying. They say review centre is 95% good, review centre say since 2016 only 8 review and 7 of them bad, amazon they say 95% good, amazon say 3.2 from 5 and only 57% good in last year. Review io 2.6 from 5. trustpilot they say 9.1 out 10 trustpilot say 4.5 from 5, that don’t match other sites stats and trustpilot has warning saying poss comprmised and bias reviews.
3, In “about us” it says they have 50,000 items, on here they say more than 80.000 product lines, Queen Award page it says 100,000. But about us and award pages say they are resellers so therefore would have no stock, they sell other companies stock. I have confirmed elsewhere they are resellers with no stock, queens award website explains they excludes resellers from applying.
3, Goto Terms and Conditions via link on bottom of any page. Or see the “Internet Archive Wayback Machine” (google it) they been archiving T&C’s since 2014 and parts of website since 2001.
T&C’s say you are required to save a copy. The page has been set up so you can’t. Consumer Contract Relations Delivery of Key Information (and Electronic Commerce Regulations for both consumers and business customers) state, they have to give the T&C’s and other info, e.g. information about returns and a form you can use, In a durable format after the sale, AKA finalize the deal. Email is fine. If they fail the contract becomes illegal/unenforceable. You then get a minimum 1 year + 14 days to return, at LambdaTek cost, for a full refund. Up to 6 years (5 in Scotland) to make a claim for full/part refund dependent on circumstances. Burden of proof information was given is with LambdaTek They didn't give me the info and for exapmle many reviews here/elsewhere where people are having problems with returns, all the info and a return form must be provide I assume they didn't get the info either. Have a look at the emails you got after the sale.
4 Can’t list every issue with T&C's, the laws you need to look at are Consumer Contract Relations and Consumer Rights Act or phone the citizens advice, they can also help resolve problems and report issues to trading standards (I used to work for them this is how I know this stuff).
5 Complaint’s Policy found in T&C’s “images” section says “These terms of sale and the supply of the goods will be subject to English law and the English courts will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract, save that consumers resident in Scotland”
In England Pre-Action Conduct Practice Directions controls what happens and when before action. Some examples in Paragraph 3 from the Directions “try to settle the issues without proceedings”, “consider a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)”, “reduce the costs of resolving”. The Complaints procedure violates all three, it forces you straight into expensive, time consuming court action!
Paragraph 11 (and others) has you further covered. It says “the parties may be required by the court to provide evidence that ADR has been considered. A party’s silence in response to an invitation to participate or a refusal to participate in ADR might be considered unreasonable by the court and could lead to the court ordering that party to pay additional court costs”. They already ruled out ADR, case law that you can quote for costs such as Garritt-Critchley v Ronnan [2014].
Try anyway, courts expect it, but only once, court expects no more. Send a letter of complaint via recorded post (not via email or phone). State the issues and give any evidence. State the rules and the expected outcome. Give a reasonable time to reply, say 14 days. Ask them to nominate an ADR scheme should you not be happy with the reply. If they refuse to comply as they clearly indicate the will, don’t waste any more time, file a claim, let the courts know why you had no choice and ask for all costs win or lose.
The C.A.B give excellent advice, help make a claim and report issues to Trading Standards.
Note to Lambdatek, I can 100% back up everything I say here with independent evidence, screenshots etc. This is a factual evedence based review, you cant flag reviews coz you don't like them, if you don't like reviews like this, stop behaving in the way you do.

I Will Never Forgive Them
I will never forgive the owners of this company for what the did to me and the catalogue of very nasty problems they caused in my life, to try and force me to not only take full responsibility for their failings, failings that indisputable had nothing to do with me as proven in court, but also turn a massive profit at the same time as also proven in court, all at my expense again despite I had nothing to do with any of it.
To date all the problems they caused me remain unacknowledged, unexplained, unaddressed, all complaints to try and get the issues resolved for me have been ignored/blocked and remain ignored/blocked. I’ve been left going through counseling and its had a massive impact on my health which they know as it was explained in court with evidence from my doctor, yet they never even said sorry for what they did to me and are false reporting my reviews to try and take them down to hide what they did.
I will never forgive you two. I remind you the police did record a criminal complaint against both of you and be warned I’ve also talked to a much better solicitor now. n

Avoid This Company
The absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered.
If you buy from this company you had better hope there is no problem with your order because if you have to contact their customer support it will be a nightmare.
The echos my experience. Rude staff, delaying refunds as long as possible... the list goes on. If anyone uses this company make sure you pay using a third party (eg PayPal) that can intervene if there is any problem.

Defective Item, Rma Gone Sour - Lba Sent - Court Action Next
DIscovered via Manufacturer that Lambdatek were selling an item that wasn't apparently intended for retail, just for supply to PC system manufacturers.
I did this after exhaustive investigation and even learned and tried solutions from others, experiencing the same thing, in the public domain.
Manufacturer authorised return, Lambdatek said they couldn't get confirmation.
Lambdatek apprear unwilling to even acknowledge the SSD drive was unfit for sale but have removed item from sale I believe, as a direct result of my complaint.
They're unwilling to advance-replace the item, which is a reasonable ask since they supplied bad goods. This is normal for computer memory to be swapped in advance, I've had it myself.
I've offered three different solutions but they appear to have declined all three for various reasons.
I've sent a formal request for a response (LBA), and counting down the days before I have to take civil court action to recover my outlay after they refuse to help me minimise my loss.
Throughout the communication, I've been unable to get the name of the person who's dealing with the problem. I think it's one specific Director of the company, (from Companies House) but I can't be sure.
So, also a faceless corporation. Very odd
My ask is simple, but they're refusing to help me in a way that minimises my suffering though their failure to sell an item fit for retail; refusing to acknowledge there was a problem with the item by word but deeds suggesting otherwise.
I'll edit this post if the situation changes.
UPDATE: 28 March 2017
They're apparently unwilling to acknowledge the item they sold wasn't fit for purpose and that they are therefore liable for refund for reasons stated . They want to apparently check it and delay the refund as much as it would appear possible.
Unless something changes, they'll be receiving a County Court Summons.
My viewpoint, customer service isn't important and box-shifting is the sole purpose of their outfit. My experience is that I won't buy from them if expecting anything to go wrong and needing to go back.

Sold Me A Dead Laptop And Then Tried To Fob Me Off To Hp
They sold me an hp laptop. Delivery was quick enough but it was dead on arrival.
After speaking to a rude man on the returns number, he refused to log details and insisted I had to use the website. So why even have a returns telephone line?
In response to my return request on email, they then insisted I had to facilitate the return through hp instead of them.
This is terrible service.
They include lots of flowery talk in their emails but refuses to actually take any action.
The most disappointing thing is, previously I'd had good service from them. Now I have lost all faith. I had to go elsewhere eventually to fulfil the order.
I've had to give a 1 star as value for money; the price was good, but only if you get a working item.

Non-existent Post-sales Service
Pre-sales helpful. But then that's normal for pre-sales in any company, they want your money.
The post-sales attitude at LambdaTek stinks. Their returns policy is overly restrictive.
They charge you £9.95 for "non-guaranteed Next Working Day" ... it seems their definition of "Next Working Day" is "whenever the warehouse feels like it".
You raise issues with them and they just say "you can not compare companies as we all work differently". Well sure... except the companies I am comparing LambtaTek to are their competitors !! And if LambdaTek want any chance of getting my business in the future, then they really need to up their game and start comparing more favourably to their competitors.
Never again.
Agree completely. They sold me a dead laptop and then tried to fob me off to the manufacturer.
