Shocking Service

Turned up with a puncture and asked a guy to have a look and he said "sorry mate we haven't got any puncture repairs in stock"!!!??

What sort of tyre shop is this?

Definitely looking for new supplier of tyres for my company as I have had a few experiences like this recently.

Lethargic

I have been taking my cars to kwik fit for the past few years but I can't say I have too happy about the service I get. I only go as the devil you know kind of thing. They always ring me up and offer things like engine conditioning and things like that just to make easy money. Luckily I turned down their offer cos I figured it is just day light robery. I asked them if it was possible to wash the car after the mot and service and they said yes for £10. I rang and they said car is ready for collection. I got there but of course the car was still dirty. I asked them to wash it and they just seemed so lethargic, disinterested and extremely slow. I would not call it a wash as someone was wiping the car with a cloth. When I asked him about the wheels he started wiping them with the same cloth. He would just wipe for few seconds and then disappears. It was an absolute joke. Anyway I got seriously angry and demanded a refund and walked away. The girl at reception just said it was not her problem as she has nothing to do with cars. She only works there!! My point is if they can behave like that in front of customers what will they be like when your back is turned. How do I know they actually serviced the car. I have 0% faith in them. Never go there again. They are a bunch of lazy and totally unprofessional outfit...

Two New Tyres

Bad experience, it has just taken over three hours to fit two front tyres (Goodyear) at a DISCOUNTED cost of £271. Would not recommend this company to my worst enemy

Overcharged

I took my car for an MOT which was' conveniently' offered for £40, against the usual £50 that I've been charged so far, with the difference that I came out of Kwikfit with a £100 bill, against the other ones who effectively charged me only for the MOT.

Funny enough, as my car this year seemed to need a list of things to fix and adjust, it looked like everyone else who had their car there that day, encountered the same issue, also surprisingly leaving with an average £100 bill.

Also, only one of my tyres was changed, but did not challenge them about the fact that maybe the pair should be changed, before they charged me double.

Never going back again, it's a rip off. I will never recommend it to a friend either.

In Need Of Inset

Popped into the South Croydon branch to ask about a new exhaust. Disappointed that the man on the desk could not even look me in the eye to discuss the issue but continued on his computer doing another job whilst speaking to me.

Lost my custom for good as I will not bother going back when they have more time to deal with me. An improvement in personal customer care would have seen me making an effort to go back in tomorrow.

Rip Off

Just been overcharged by 50% for tyres according to its own website. Pretty convenient actually because I was just thinking the other day that if I had a spare £45 I wanted to waste, I would be down to Croydon Kwik Fit like a shot.

I Just Had My Mot+full Service Done For The First

I just had my MOT+Full Service done for the first time by Kwik Fit,at 181 St. James's Road,Croydon and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised.

After reading most of the dreadfull reviews on this website,I was scared for my pocket, and my car,but fortunately for me,my experience with this company is an absolute delight and a real value for the money.

All of the staff at this branch were extremly polite, knowedgable and helpfull. There were minor problems with my car,but nothing that will fail MOT.They were not pushy with sales, they've just told me that in the future I should do some minor repairs(nothing extravagant and expensive,we were talking about £28 expense). They have not at any given moment, fixed or done something to my car without my knowledge and permission.

So the service went smoothly and my car passed the MOT with flying colours. No extra expenses,no fuss and no hussle, and all this for measly £132.00(booked+paid online) Brilliant!!!I will come back to this particular branch next year.

Normally I Change My Own Oil Filter On My Ford Foc

Normally I change my own oil filter on my Ford Focus - takes 30 minutes in all. However Kwik Fit was doing a deal for £25 to do an oil filter and oil change.

This was cheaper than me doing it and also meant I did not have to spend time and money disposing of the old oil.

When they changed it, I don ' t think they did it properly so over the last few weeks oil has been leaking from the lack of seal.

Now you would think that common sense would prevail and Kwik Fit with their 1 year warranty on work would want to resolve the problem of their making. But no, they are not interested in resolving any of their mistakes - read on to see my experience.

On noticing the problem on Sunday, I phoned up on Monday morning to get the work redone at my local branch of Kwik Fit and they said they had no staff in this week and they could not fit in the job until a week later.

They advised me to try another branch to get the work done under Warranty. I tried another branch in the area and they also said they had no one available until the following week. Then tried a 3rd branch in South Croydon who said ok, if you bring the car in and if there ' s an opening to get the car on the ramp, they will try and have a look at it. When we turned up at 9.00am there was a queue of people in front of us and the member of staff said there was no chance of getting the work done there and then but if we left the car for the day, he might be able to fit it in. We explained that we needed the car so he then told us to return to the originating store to get the work done there.

So we then drove to the original Kwik Fit in West Croydon, where there were at least 3 men working on cars there. Again, a member of staff at this branch said the work should have been done in South Croydon and there was no chance of getting the work done there today.

Stay away from Kwik Fit - go to your local garage. You might get a better service from there who actually know what they are doing and they get it right nearly every time.

Otherwise do the work yourself - don't worry about not having the knowledge to do it yourself (just refer to a Haynes Manual).
