Lanchester Pet Resort, Durham

Was recommended to view this kennel from a friend who uses them, I was impressed during my initial viewing, large open space, big kennels and a clean premises.

Decided to board my Benji here for 3 weeks while I went off on holiday, when I returned to pick him up I'd never seen him so happy and bouncy before. He looked gorgeous with a big smile on his face.

I was so thrilled to see him like that and while the Kennel is further away than I'd typically consider going from my home, to make sure my boy is well taken care of while I'm away it's well worth it.

The fact that you cannot leave any reviews of this place on Facebook says it all. They have a private group for those who leave their pets with them and that's it. No page to leave reviews. Which makes you wonder, why?

I'm keeping myself anonymous because of the attitude of the main owner and for fear of backlash from her.

I know other people who have used these kennels and have had similar complaints.

The attitude from the main owner (unable to name her due to website policy) is terrible. She makes you feel like an inconvenience for wanting to leave your pet with her. Very strict times to leave and pick up your pet. I understand this is because they're busy but again, she makes you feel like a naughty child for asking for some flexibility or if you arrive when they expected you at a different time, even though its open between 10-12 pm and then 4pm-5:30pm for drop offs/pick ups.

She also says you've said things when you haven't. For example, "you said you would pick her up at 11am" when you never said that at all!

I took my girl for a walk after collecting her from the kennels. She had 3-4 wees in the space of 15 minutes which suggests she had not been let out for a pee at all during the afternoon before we collected her.

My friend left her dogs here a few weeks back. Again, the main owner upset my friend by making personal comments about her! So rude. Again, I will not go into detail about this, so to keep my friend anonymous too.

Another friend left her cat here a while ago and said they have never returned due to how they made her feel and the comments made about her cat who was nothing how they described her.

There is more I could say but this would no doubt identify me and my pet and I wouldn't put it past the owners to try and sue me/seek revenge, even though I am well within my right to leave this review because its honest.

No doubt they will reply to this, and you'll see for yourselves the attitude is apparent from how will reply.

Well after a long time coming finally had our holiday and BEAU was ready for hers . As soon as we arrived.Beau was wagging her tail happy to see everyone and off she went without even a glance back at us

We know that Beau will be well looked after with plenty of love and cuddles

staff always give 100% dedication and love to your little family menbers and knowing this you can go enjoy your own holiday

We have been using lanchester pet resort for 3 years twice a year now and would not use any other.

I would highly recommend to anyone who are wanting the best care for their beloved animals .. big shout out to all the team xx see you in october ..

Holiday time again, and my three kids (dogs) feel like it’s holiday time for them too, as soon as my three dogs realised they were at Lanchester Pet Resort, they were off after running around they head straight for their bungalow they stayed at last time, if their tails was attached to a helicopter it would take off, during there stay, on Facebook the owner of Lanchester pet resort posted photos of all three running around and having cuddles from the staff, my wife and I really enjoyed our holiday knowing the fact that our kids are being well looked after with cuddles, food and a good time playing, and was a good talking point to people we met, on return Bailey, Dexter and Tiffany took some catching lol, thank you to all the staff at Lanchester Pet Resort for looking after our kids with genuine care enabling us to miss our kids but enjoy ourselves, will definitely see you next year

I was worried to leave our dogs but I had nothing to worry about, they showed us around and the facilities were the best I’ve seen, and they updated us with photos along the way all three looked as they were having a ball chasing each other around the field they have for the dogs to play safely, I had to drag Dexter and Tiffany away thank you very much and we will see you again and I have no problem recommending anyone to Lanchester pet resort thank you

My dog Winston always goes here whist we go on holiday and we have always been happy with the service we have received, he’s a terrier and not the easiest dog to handle sometimes, but they always do a good job, He’s always excited to go in, and not so keen to come home! We never worry about him while we are away, which shows how well we know he is cared for! Keep up the good work!

Tod border collie has never been away from home stayed at the pet resort for the night.

When I went to pick him up he ran over to the owner of the resort with hugs and kisses was totally not interested in me, so I can only say he had a fab time . You can tell they are animal lovers and deserve a medal for there dedication.

I will use again. The price was amazing, so I left a tip as gratitude. It’s called a resort because it is just that. Thanks to the owners and staff.

After looking at several kennels for beau and eddy these kennels were the best choice . We were very nervous about leaving them as they have have never been boarded before. When dropping them off the person I dealt with  re assuured us they would be fine .

We have been to collect them today 22/5/17 and what what can we say .., we were greeted by 2 very happy dogs wagging tails and looking very relaxed all our worry was over nothing. we cant even believe the change in Eddy out little 10 year old dog , he has come home and is chasing after a ball which he has never done before he seems to have found a new release of life. Both dogs have been looked after to high spec looking very clean and healthy. I would not hesitate to recommend these kennels to any one and thank you to the person I dealt with, husband and staff for all the hard work you do to make sure your customers can have a relaxing time knowing their pooches etc are being well looked after . They will be back in October for 2 weeks and i will have no concerns at all about leaving them for a longer period of time

I have just found this review page when looking up the opening times. I just want to add to it to say my German Shepherd Amber is looked after exceptionally well and I would never go anywhere else! Amber is not friendly with other dogs but there have never been any incidents in all the time (about 6 years) since I started bringing her. I can be completely relaxed knowing she is in good hands. She is always happy to go, wagging her tail on the way in and she gets a big welcome when she arrives. I am sorry to see that bad review on this page. It is totally uncalled for. the person I dealt with and her husband do an amazing job and have so much love for all of their 'guests'.

Having put my little toy poodle in here for a week, collecting her today, I couldn't be happier! I think she's quite enjoyed herself! Such a difference from the last place I used. Will be sending her again without any hesitation. They were so caring and obviously loved the animals in their care.

She is clean, brushed, been out for exercise and I am really impressed. Thank you for looking after my daft baby so well!
