Disappointed

My fiancé and I have been regulars for years now as we both loved the food and the friendly atmosphere in the Pink Turban, we also regularly take our 2 year old daughter. My daughter does not usually eat much while we are there, she will have some salad and poppadoms usually and we have never been charged for her before. However, we visited last night and as it was a bit later than we would usually eat we had given our daughter her meal before we went, this was also due to the fact she doesn't usually eat much. The waitress asked if we wanted to order a kids meal, which we didn't but she did see that we had put 3 slices of cucumber and 3 slices of tomato onto a side plate for our daughter, she did not mention that we would be charged for this (£5.99!) I understand that they probably do need to charge for children due to the waste etc. but £5.99 is rather excessive!! It was not busy and they could clearly see that all my daughter had to eat was 3 slices of cucumber and 3 slices of tomato. I will not be back!

Resturant In Need Of New Management!!!!!!!!!!!1

i have been going for the lunch buffet with family and friends for over a year. we went last week, myself, hubby and my 2yr old daughter.we both had the buffet. went to pay for the bill and noticed that they had charged us for a childs buffet £3.99, adults being £4.99. we told the man that our child didnt have anything to eat, she is 2yrs old!! my daughter had her lunch before we went. The manager was very arrogant towards us.told us that the charge for a child is for taking up a seat, and the waste of food!!! I CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THAT IF I HAD PUT A PLATE OF FOOD DOWN TO MY DAUGHTER, BUT SHE NEVER HAD ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!! if that being the case i asked him why didnt she receive her ice-cream?????? thats meant to be inc with meal. THE MANAGER WAS SO ABRUPT, WE ALSO QUESTIONED WHY WE NEVER GOT CHARGED FOR MY DAUGHTER THE WEEK BEFORE?????? CLUELESS, MANAGER REPLIED THAT ITS JUST STARTED, NOTHING ON THE MENU TO BACK THIS UP!!!!!!!! I WAS SOOO UNHAPPY WITH THE MANNER I WAS SPOKEN TOO. ITS A SHAME AS I WENT AT LEAST 4 TIMES A MONTH.. AND NOW I WONT BE BACK AND I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Very Disappointed

i took my mother and daughter for the buffet lunch on saturday as we had heard great things about this place . on arrival we could not get in the door for people waiting on tables , we had pre- booked but noone approached us to ask if we had , after about ten minutes i went over to the waitress who put us to the side , then gave e us a table after another 10 min wait . my first impresion of the seating area was that it looked like a soup kitchen , everyone was crammed in like sardines . the food was not great , chicken pakora was hard , and even the chicken in the main dishes were quite hard , quite hard to describe but i had to to make several attempts to cut through it . my biggest gripe with this place was they asked us if we wanted a coffe and me and my mother said yes only to be charged £4.80 for 2 cups of coffee , what a rip off , will never be back even though it was only 4.99 for a full buffet i would much rather have spent more to get some good food . oh and almost forgot there are no locks on the toilet doors, absolute ****hole of a place

Went To The Pink Turban For The First Time To Shar

Went to the Pink Turban for the first time to share a celebratory buffet lunch in September for my daughters 18th birthday. Maybe not in the best location unless you live around North Lanarkshire. (Unless you fancy a wee drive) I was amazed at the number of dishes they had available and the food was as good as you would get it any top class Indian resturant! It looked a bit basic inside, but the staff were very attentive and the food was absolutely superb! Went back again in November and the experience was just as memorable as far as the food and service were concerned, as the first time we visited. I live in Glasgow and my daughter wants to take me for a birthday lunch on the 23rd December, ..........guess where I wanted to go - weather permitting?

If you like Indian cusine and value for money without compromising on the quality of the food - you could do much, much worse than the Pink Turban!

If You Are Within Driving Distance Of Waterloo Wis

If you are within driving distance of Waterloo Wishaw, you wont want to miss the "Pink Turban" Indian restaurant. The food and choice of food is second to none. The price is excellent.£4.99 for the lunch time buffet.wow! beat that! Just because the price is low does NOT mean the food or quality is comprimised. This place is really popular. So well done to the owner who realizes good business management. (Value, and taste for money).

My Family And Friends Ate At The Pink Turban In Wa

My family and friends ate at the Pink Turban in Waterloo, Wishaw on our visit to Scotland in August 2009. The waiting staff could not have been more helpful and the food was hot, plentiful and each dish from the mild to the spicy was exquisite. The restaurant was quite busy for a Thursday night. This is obviously a popular eatery. We look forward to visiting the Pink Turban on our next visit to Scotland.

When my brother asked my wife an I if we would like to go out with him to the "PINK TURBAN" we said yes right away,The review :- Food was great can't say anything bad about it value for money. The beer was great also but sip it getting a beer order can be a little hard..so tell your friend drinks on you.The surroundings were fine a little cramped and the sound of Bagpipes from next door makes you forget that your in an indian resturant Great place worth the visit.

The Food At The Pink Turban Is Very Good, And Very

The food at the Pink Turban is very good, and very inexpensive. That is perhaps part of the problem in that the restaurant has crammed in so many tables. The tables are so close together that you have to squeeze in to even get to sit down, and it makes it hard for the staff to serve food and drinks as they cannot get easily to the tables.

The tables are arranged in rows, and we had the pleasure of the table next to us on our row, having a loud conversation with some friends whose table was in the row behind us - they just talked over us as if we weren't there! They were oblivious to this so we had to listen to them droning on about camper vans....

The entrance steps are crumbling and broken and give a poor first impression, and the interior is a bit tired and needs a freshening up. The ladies toilets were grubby, dirty finger marks on the woodwork, no lock on the door, floors wet. Not very nice. They need a spring clean and freshening up. The grout on the tiles is black in places.

The interior needs breaking up into smaller areas, partitioned a bit to give a bit of privacy and peace and quiet, not everyone wants to hear the next table's conversation. While it is nice to see children out having meals, some of them were pretty noisy.

We didn't have the buffet as my parents are 80+ and the thought of getting in and out of the table all the time didn't appeal so we had the £6.99 set menu. The vegetable pakora were very good, fish pakora tasty. Lamb jaipur was very good, the onions and peppers crisp and freshly cooked. The other curries - lamb murgh masala and lamb lashni were a bit too sweet and seemed very similar in flavour. Peshwari nans were very very good. No complaints about the food at all, it really is very acceptable and nice that it is not violently red and orange due to the lack of artificial colourings.

The staff were very friendly and helpful but there was a bit of disorganisation, we had booked a table and when we arrived, we were asked to sit and wait - while we did so another 3 waiters came to try to help us - which was fine but shows lack of communication between the staff. But they were very busy as the place was almost full at lunchtime.

The food is excellent value for money, couldn't really fault it at all. But the overall experience is a bit less pleasant, it is certainly very unsuitable for a romantic dinner! The attraction is definitely the low prices - the buffet is very inexpensive for what it is but you have to put up with the slightly chaotic atmosphere which makes it less relaxing, you feel you are being jostled by all the people going up to the buffet. There is very little space around the tables so you feel that everyone else is almost in your laps.

It could be a truly excellent restaurant if they just tweaked the hygiene a bit, took out a few tables, gave a bit more space/privacy, perhaps sectioned off the buffet and use the tables near it for buffet only bookings and have a quieter area for customers having the menus.

Where Do I Start. The Pink Turban Has The Makings

Where do I start. The Pink Turban has the makings to be a wonderful dining experience but unfortunately it is ruined by some key mis management on the restaurants part. 1st off (and the main point) there is not enough staff for the customers on the premises. We went on February 7th to the buffet meal and throughout the course of the evening (just over 1 hour) our plate was only taken away once and the same for drinks, we were only asked once if we would like another. In a restaurant seating roughly 130 there were only 2 girls serving drinks, disgraceful. 2nd point, the layout of the buffet section is terrible, far too compact for the amount of customers trying to get to it, add to this you are avoiding cooks diving out the kitchen with red hot pans of food. The buffet should be at the back beside the kitchen making access a lot easier. Finally we asked for out bill at 1900, at 1920 no one had came to attend our table. I then approached one of the staff personally and was assured that we would be taking care of right away. 10 mins later still nothing. We eventually had to go ourselves to the bar area to pay for our food. The only result of the evening was that the restaurant is so short staffed and people dont know what they were doing that we were under charged £20!! GREAT!!! A real crying shame that the management are only interested in cramming people in like sardines and not the overall experience because the food was devine. I would go again but DEFINITELY not at the weekend.
