It Started Well, As Our Curry Club Visit Was Welco

It started well, as our Curry Club visit was welcomed pleasantly enough and seated quickly. Popodoms were good and we were looking forward to a good curry based on many of the reviews seen on various web sites. The menu is varied and looked good, promising much. We asked about the Thali menu and especially regarding the vegetarian Thali. It was explained that the chef made a selection for this based upon the Organic Vegetarian Curry section which looked promising. When it arrived it was selection from the side dishes and whilst we were not expecting big dishes they were very small compared to a vegetarian side we already ordered. The restaurant failed to address our disappointment, so much so that the waiter stated he would be scared to talk to the chef about it. The Lamb dish was reasonable, but it did not appear that the meat had been marinaded beforehand. the are many Indian Restaurants in and around Wakefield that would provide better quality food at perhaps more reasonable prices. We have emailed a complaint and a chasing email, we have confirmed receipt of these emails but have not had the courtesy of any response. Overall a disappointing visit which could have been improved upon should the manager actually acknowledge the complaint either on the day or subsequently.

Bollywood Lounge Is The Best Indian In Wakefield O

Bollywood lounge is the best indian in wakefield others have come and gone a few that are left can not match the qualiry of food and service bollywood has provided since opening over a year ago. we as regulars have to book to dine on a friday or saturday. people who have been using sub standard restaurants, which survive on late trade will not Appreciate the quality food as they are used to cheap and cheerful supermarket standard buffet.

we wish them all the success at bollywood lounge who are now on a 3rd project thats in one year which speaks for it self.

I Visited Bollywood Lounge With My Girlfriend Last

I visited Bollywood lounge with my girlfriend last weekend. The food was so bad that we had to send it bad and were offered a different choice. we were brought poppadoms and pickle trays without asking for them and then charged! We usually go to the red chilli and thought we'd try somewhere different. Won't be going back there again.

Smart Clean Environment, Good Service And Great Fo

Smart clean environment, good service and great food. Bollywood Lounge, Wakefield has a good selection of curries you don't see on many if any other menu's. Portions are a little on the small size so not able to share.

I Went To This Restaurant On Smyth Street In Wakef

I went to this restaurant on Smyth Street in Wakefield recently after having been to the cinema to see Slumdog Millionaire, appropriately enough.

We got a table for two easily enough, though it was quite early on a Saturday evening, so may be more difficult later on. The surroundings are very modern and stylish, though the actualy interior building is a cavernous room, so it's not entirely conducive to an intimate restaurant, though the mezzanine floor does do something to offest this. Service was quick and efficient. The menu is pretty extensive with some really interesting and imaginative dishes, as well as a reasonable wine list.

There is a screen showing Bollywood hits in the corner of the restaurant which possibly could get a bit grating.

Food was pretty good, certainly as good or better than the average Indian restaurant, though the prices reflect and it is a little more expensive than what you might expect to pay for a bog-standard curry.

In summary, I'd say it is worth a visit for a meal, and judging by the set-up would suit a family group for a special occasion, though perhaps isn't ideal for a romatic intimate meal. It can be a little pricey, so if it's a case of a quick lunch or dinner this might not be the ideal venue, though if you are prepared to push out the boat a little, you will be rewarded. And not a strip of flock wallpaper in sight!
