Clean. Disciplined.

I'm 53 and I'm probably too young to appreciate the site.

All the edges were sharp, anything that needed cleaning was spotless.

But in a week there I didn't hear a single person burst into laughter - maybe they were too busy castigating the owners for an insufficiently severe welcome pack (rulebook).

From a tent the nightime roadnoise was bearable, but disappointing for a Dartmoor campsite, with no views, and the gates were locked at 11 to ensure you didn't escape ;-P

If you like Mother's Pride you'll love this site.

Not Friendly For Younger Couples

This was our second stay at woodland springs and on both occasions it would seem that the park is not overly friendly for younger couples. We found ourselves feeling that the proprietors are not overly keen on those of the younger generation. We do understand that some parties of mid twenties couples can be "rowdy" and "unruly" and perhaps this spoils the reputation of the maturer younger couples, it would seem that we were deemed to be tarred with the same brush.

We did have an issue whereby we required short use of an electrical socket due to an issue with an air pump. It would seem that it was a chore when we asked for assistance from the proprietors for the use of an electrical outlet, and we were left feeling slightly disappointed as were were made to feel as if we had caused an inconvenience. It can seem from booking stage to staying at the site that everything is at the terms of the management of the park, with little regards for assisting customers should any issues or queries arise. It would personally seem that customer service is lacking slightly in the area of "being available" for the clients staying within the park.

The facilities within the park cannot be faulted, however it does feel a little too school like with notices and "do not's" to be found everywhere you turn. Electrical sockets are not to be found within the park facilities so any personal electrical items (ie hair straighteners etc) are of little use unless you are able to get a pitch with electric hook up (which we were unable).

The location of the park is relatively easy to locate, although there is little around in the way of amenities should you require anything from larger retailers. The park grounds are well kept and fairly peaceful, however due to the smaller size of the park, vehicles utilizing the drive through roadway can be easily heard if you have a pitch in the centre of the park.
