Beware

Bought 2 doors from this company in 2008. Front door was warped when fitted. I have the paperwork to show the original complaint. They sent a fitted out who adjusted the hinges. The door is warped and adjustment of hinges will not fix it. Now both door closing mechanisms not working and front door still warped. You can see through from one side to the other. Have contacted customer services who have ignored the e mail. I posted a review on Trust Pilot which the managing director has reported as he says it is not the same company. Take a look at companies house for both companies. The director is the same, the addresses are the same, the showrooms are the same. As the title says buyer beware. The ten year warranty is useless.

Horrific

Start to finish horrific.

Expanding foam overflowing out onto my walls

Massive 6 inch gaps between the door and the wall surrounding in places

The glass panel within the actual door was wrong

I had panelling that they had attempted to fit hanging down and at wrong angle from above

I told fitters to their face that this was a terrible job and said to them this was 'bad workmanship'. They didn't flinch, and said they would be back to address all the issues when the correct glass arrived into showroom. I immediately called the company office to log all my complaints and concerns. (pointless)

Time passed and after chasing, a small man turned up to change out glass. He said he knew nothing about any other faults and was only there to fix glass. After listing the faults with him he said that they 'weren't joiners or tradesmen, and only fit square doors into square holes.' All of the fitters he could think of were not skilled in any way, only trained in fitting the square doors. He also looked me straight in the face amongst witnesses and said 'you expected the door to be fitted and scribed into that wall for what YOU paid?'.... When i told him it was £1550 he was horrified himself. He left.

I then waited 2 weeks , and another fitter turned up on my door without pre-warning. We could only give him an hour due to us needing to go out to work. He returned on a 2nd visit and at the end of that job was complete. This final fitter was a joiner to trade and expressed that he is frustrated with the company himself- he's told to go to jobs and the customers hadn't been warned and spent a lot of time on clean up duty rectifying their other fitters work.

Then ensued MANY rude and agitating calls with the finance dept for full payment immediately, my deposit payment having gone missing. Was told to 'think carefully before I got someone sacked'!

Main points were:

ALL OFFICE STAFF AND FITTERS RUDE, UNINTERESTED AND UNSKILLED

INSULTED THROUGHOUT ENTIRE PROCESS

DOOR OF INFERIOR QUALITY - VERIFIED BY 2 BUILDERS, AND 2 OTHER DOOR COMPANIES

Terrible After Sales

Bought a door, the glass in the inside has shattered cutting my daughters arm. Called & spoke to the person I dealt with the customer relations manager. Who was not 1 bit interested. He has advise the glass must have been hit. This certainly wasn't the case she was locking the door on the inside. The glass came out in large pieces, not shattering into small pieces. Thankfully my daughter is ok, only a few stitches. At no point was I offered anyone to come out & see or how I would get the door fixed. I have been told to right to the owner. Not holding my breathe. Very unhappy & extremely disappointed with Upvc door company .

My Composite Door Order

If any of you are considering buying a composite door from this company let me share my experience with you I have just called them today after taking a day annual leave to get a door fitted, they first of all asked if I had an installation date , doh, they called me and arranged it 6 weeks ago. They then said that they were going through a ?transitional period with their supplier I ordered the door in the showroom on the 14th of February 8 weeks ago. two weeks later I was offered an installation date of my choosing. On me telephoning today at mid-day after no one showing up and no phone call prior to say otherwise I was told the next delivery from the supplier is anticipated on the 29th of April and that there were still customers waiting on doors that were ordered in JANUARY. Needless to say I have cancelled my order. I hope this helps you to decide whether to use this company or not.

Poor Quality Fitting

Would have given 0 stars if I could have. Front door bought and fitted by this company. No filler or sealants used at all. Gaps all round the door. Bought the expensive handle/letterbox option. The surface has already come off them. Owner and staff incredibly rude when phoned about fitting and handle/letterbox. Guarantee not worth paper it is written on. Had to remove door and get another joiner to fit door properly. They were shocked as the fixings were also in the wrong place and could have split the door too.

We Bought Windows And Doors From Them, They Didnt

We bought windows and doors from them, they didnt turn up on the day that was scheduled, eventually fitted weeks later,doors poorly fitted with visible gaps, scratches and marks on doors and windows. Were told our cill would be solid oak, its veneered, now windows are leaking as they're not sealed properly. Going to get legal advice and contacting Trading Standards. Appauling service from start to finish. Avoid at all cost.

10 Year Guarantee Worthless

Had a bay window fitted circa £2000 in 2009. Initially had few problems with water coming In but managed to get it sorted out. after all the recent rain water coming in through top of window. Told it would cost me £59 call out. Plus whatever to repair window. Asked about guarantee and it doesn't cover this. Would never use this company again And would never recommend

Abuse Sales Man In The Edinburgh Area To An Oap.

The sales manager for the Edinburgh was abusive to my tennant who is her 70's. Apparently you are not a customer until you give them money.

Absolute Rip Off

I ordered an external front door from the UPVC door company back in July 2015, my house had just been broken into and i was informed that I would have to wait 3 weeks for the door to be made as it wasn't just a standard door, this wasn't ideal, but I agreed, the company came out for measurements, and I was given an installation date, which was mid August, the door arrived and it was far too big for my house, I contacted the company to express my concern that my house was still unsecure and I was told I had to wait a further 3 weeks, I explained that this was unacceptable as I had just paid almost £1000, I then asked for a refund to be told abruptly NO! Apparently it's at their managing directors discretion as to whether I received a refund or not and as my contract stated that they as 60days to complete, their attitude and mannerisms towards their paying customers and the people who keep them in business is absolutely appalling, we r now in mid October and I am still waiting on either a door or a refund, I haven't even had as much as a curtesy call from the UPVC Door company, I am now in the process of taking legal action against them. Avoid at all costs!!

Hi, sorry you are having the same problems I had, I have written reviews on every place I can find online, the day I was submitting my paperwork a cheque for the full amount landed through my letter box, I had been to the court down in Caird street in Hamilton, they sort all your paperwork out for you and they will send it out, I had trading standards and everything on to them, if u contact the consumer side of citizens advice they will advice you further, they were fantastic with me and good luck.

I am having problems also, received Breach of Contract letter for full amount of door I do not have. I had to take 2 days holidays from work to accommodate them and they cancelled so I told them not to bother coming back. Received letter usual 60 days etc, phoned up and got "Customer" service man who was rude and more or less told me where to go. How is your legal action going?

Horrific

we purchased a large number of doors and windows from this company for an extension and existing house. The plan was to install in phases, and then finish internal once extension was complete. There are a number of snagging items to be corrected and cannot get them to come back and finish the insides, claim that we need to pay more money (having already paid £000s) as they have been let down by other customers who have not settled their bills. Everytime you call you are either directed to customer services who is a joke , wouldn't know customer services if it hit him on the head, and when you try to contact the person I dealt with (seems to be senior guy) he never answers or makes false promises. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and in actual fact intend to take this further. trading standards, legal, whatever it takes to tarnish their name.
