Worst Web People Ever

Signed with BT in 2012, despite it taking almost 3 months for the website to go live (when promised 4 weeks) it still has errors to this day, I gave up in the end.

I recently called to ask them to update my contact info as we had moved premises, only to be told that BT no longer offer development of the websites and to log into a portal to do it myself. What the hell do I pay £36 per month for, to a company that doesn't even help in the development of my site. The portal they have is complicated, confusing, and I should not have to do this.

BT set up my website after contacting me saying how they were experts and would improve my business. It was long time in building and so long my advertisements in magazines came out long before the website was complete so wasted advertising despite promises of delivery dates. eventually it was set up but then i was contacted to say if i upped my £30 a month to £90 a month I would get a special service and a web site second to none. I was duped on a busy day. A couple of months later nothing had changed for mo additional £60 a month. Then I was told all my services would be shut down unless i paid a bill of £6.99 they claimed was unpaid fro 6 moths previous. 6 weeks later it was eventually resolved vi india, africa, phillipines, midlands and Sctoland. I was told it was a computer glitch and it would not happen again. I was given a reference number and told to ignore any further reminders or threats my system would be closed down. three months later, i began to get calls the numbers on my website did not work. I was contacted by BT saying they were ready to give me the 6 month overdue training one to one. We had one session and then the next session I could not access our website for the training. The trainer investigated and said it was an issue with accounts. I was given two numbers to contact. Neither knew anything about it. two weeks later I eventually got to speak to someone in customer service. I explained the previous issue and gave the reference number. It meant nothing to them. I went round the same nonsense all over again, each person cant speak to their colleague and can only see their bit of information. I was promised it would be dealt with on 3rd June within 10 days. Its now 22 June, no feedback, more missed training sessions I have paid for and no access to my website at the busiest time of the year. BT are nothing but highway robbers, no integrity, useless communications ability internally or to customers and are costing me thousands of pounds yest are not contactable. DO NOT USE BT FOR ANYTHING THEY ARE TWO BIG TO CARE ONLY GOOD AT GETTING YOUR MONEY AND THEY FAILING TO PROVIDE ANY SERVICE BUT KEEP TAKING THE MONEY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Do Not Use...........

I ordered and paid for my website in April with a written 4 week production date. I contacted BT after 8 weeks to be informed it was in development, after 10 weeks and numerious calls that were unanswered I received my website - What a joke. It did not work and was informed they used a new platform and the errors would be sorted when they received up-dates, I was not told this up front. When you look into the back end I noted that the site was only just built within the last 4 days, so much for after 8 weeks being informed it was with their QA for final review. I am also paying for web hosting and web management - DO NOT waste your money. 6 months of payments and they have not provided any service even after calling and chasing them (when you can get through). BT Web Services......What Services.

Bt Web Manager ... Website With Bt - Not Recommended

I am a translator and in November 2012 BT phoned me to sell me their BT Web Manager. It sounded good ... a nice website, help from BT, all for GBP 790.80 for my website plus GBP 15/quarterly hosting fee.

My website is just a basic online-business-card, nothing spectacular and I just wanted BT to build it and didn´t need any updates/interactivity or such.

The sales person told me that the contract is for 1 year and after 1 year I could cancel it and as long as I would pay the quarterly hosting fee I could use my site for ever and ever ... it sounded perfect.

After 1 year I cancelled their service (GBP 30/month plus VAT for support and analytics) and I continued paying the hosting fee.

Today I got a mail that my site will be deleted in June - obviously, not what I had agreed with the sales person.

I phoned BT and was told that they will use a different, more efficient server now and all sites will be deleted ... BUT if I decide to make a new contract with BT (!!!!) I would get a new site via the new server.

When I reminded him that I was promised that my site could stay online, hosted by BT he said that at that point of time BT didn´t know that they would change the server.

When I told him that this was BT´s problem and not mine and that I was told that my site would stay online - he replied that BT could have just changed server without telling their clients and that it was good of BT to give clients a warning. If I don´t want to get a new contract I now had a month time to copy/past my information.

Well, if I would have read other reviews before I agreed to do business with BT, I could have donated GBP 70/month to a dog-home .... I would be happier, dogs would have been happier and blimmin BT wouldn´t have cheated me as well.

Do Not Get A Bt Website!!!!!!!!!!

I have never written a review on anything before but I am so angry about this service I feel its all I can do. I have had the site over a year and have never been contacted through it!I am a sole trader and not good at putting websites together myself. When BT said they would design and manage a site for me I thought it sounded perfect. It was put together and it looked so cheap and amature, (I had tried building my own on a free website builder and it looked much better than what BT came up with) It took me threatening to stop my direct debits for them to change it. Then after it being live for 10 months with no results or business from it I was told to make several improvements. Adding text, pages and more images etc. I spent days getting all this together. I e mailed it over (they only receive e mails with a max of 10mb so you have to almost send everything over in individual e mails). When I heard nothing back after a week I e mailed again. Then another week passed and nothing. I then tried calling after sales care, but after three evenings spent on hold, with no answer at all, I rang the sales line. They answered after one ring! I was promised a call back from a manger... I got no call back. this happened twice more. A month passed and I finally got a call back telling me they have a limit of 15 minutes to make changes on a website. As I had a quite a few changes to be made, mine would not be done. This after them telling me to make them in the first place.

I cannot express my dissatisfaction with BT Website builders/management enough. I have spent around £1000, Had so many arguments with them, been lied to by them and in return I have not got a pennies worth of work from my website in over a year.

Please, Please take notice of this review and don't get a BT website. Its the worst investment I have ever made in my business!

Web Hosting

Yesterday I set up the starter web hosting package with BT for my business. I have still yet to find out exactly how much they have taken from my card as this was not displayed prior to completing the transaction. I pushed a button to proceed and hey I was told I was set up??? .. but how much have you debited my credit card for???? I have received no confirmation of this amount, or a receipt, or an invoice to say it has been paid. Luckily I have only paid for a domain name and one month web hosting up front. Having received an email saying I was now up and running I proceeded with the email instructions on how to get set up, only to find myself going round and round in circles, and the website eventually freezing. I have so far spoken to three advisors at BT Business to try and get moving on this. I eventually was told BT Hosting really is nothing to do with BT Business ????????????? ..and was given another number. Today I tried this other number - which I may add is supposed to be 24/7/365 support.. to get first an automated voice saying all lines were busy and my call would be answered shortly.. followed by, please leave a message and we will endeavour to call you back. Having tried this number again to get the automated response of please leave your name and number etc etc I have now concluded there is no one really at the end of this line. Having let a message needless to say I am still waiting. I am really annoyed at this. More than really annoyed. I already have a hosting package with another provider that has let us down... and I really thought BT being a reputable company would be a viable option. Also, I would point out having moved house in the past year and the changeover in landline being a complete fiasco with BT ... I was giving them the opportunity to redeem themselves. If I don't receive a call from them by COB today I am cancelling. Take my advice and don't go down this road; they are quite obviously a waste of (web) space!

Recently had a website built by BT. It took 2 "web designers" 7 months to build. During this time I had to point out very basic design errors e.g. alignment, size, symmetry. Every change/amendment took approx. 2 weeks to alter so when they were eventually done I felt obligated not to ask for further changes. It got to a point where I felt perhaps I was being too picky and agreed to go live. I have now had feedback from friends who are better qualified than I am to offer an opinion and they say the site is amateur, looks like a template and looks like an A level students coursework! It cost £1000+vat, is not at all professional looking and is not the "shop front" I'd want associated with my business. With hindsight I should have complained months earlier and never agreed to go live but they're supposed to be the experts, right?

Customer services are completely biased and only interested in defending BT, they make sweeping statements then back pedal furiously when challenged, problem is you don't know to challenge them until things go wrong. Looking back I can clearly see now that the person who built my site was learning on the job, hardly the professionalism or expertise I'd paid well over the odds for. I am now writing off the BT site and have found a genuine web designer who is going to build my site for £500, it'll take 1-2 weeks and I have a money back guarantee that the site will appear within the top 10 search results on Google, something BT said could never be guaranteed.

BT are NOT professional website designers, they are over priced but even worse, they do not deliver.

Hello,

I have been waiting now for 10 months after signing up for an upgrade on my package and a re-design. So far, nothing has been done and I now have no website at all. I am considering taking them to court too and I will be contacting trading standards. I would be grateful if you guys would email me so I can begin collecting more evidence. This is criminal what they are doing and I have lost so much business as a result. They are crippling my success, especially as I still have no website and it's coming up for the new year drive!!

stevewoodhouse180

We are in the process of taking them to court but I would be very interested to swap notes as our experience lasted 15 months before they admitted they couldn't deliver. We had to close our business. Steve

Bt Websites Are The Worst !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had a website with BT (at the beginner, no knowledge necessary level) for many years now and changed it a numerous times. We have just built a new one so we were looking at all the pages to make sure they were correct. Upon searching for our company we found EVERY SINGLE web page ever created superimposed on top of each other. There are several pages that have a page over a page over a page from different website edits even though the page was deleted years ago. They had been deleted out of our website as new websites were created. Also the old tool bar is superimposed on top of the new one giving choices that should no longer exist or repeat. We found a load of pages like this making us look really unprofessional! At the level of "Beginner" I would think someone at BT would be able to help us sort that out! The kicker....BT said they cannot help me because, even though I pay them monthly, they claim they do not even host my website. They have the worst customer service I have ever witnessed with people who haven't a clue about what they are assisting you on. I wish so much I had just paid the money for someone qualified to create and maintain my website because now my web presence is ruined!

Bt Web Hosting

BT is disgusting. All they do is use you to pay for their advertising. The webpage is limited, dull and uninteresting. They do not give you a chance to change your mind. You should be allowed a 7/14. day period to change your mind if you want. Isn't this normally the case. If you try calling them they do not answer the phone. This service is overpriced and a waste of money. Why would you want their ads flooding your website. BT behave like the mafia all they are interested in is behaving like the Mafia. Control, control, control. Just like the 13 bloodline families who control the world and rip us all off. They are a cold bunch of money grabbing gits.

Bt Hosting Beware!!

BT Web Hosting. Unbelievable! If it wasn't for the fact this service was effecting my business right now I could maybe see the funny side! It certainly would provide rich material for a stand up comedian. Seriously I haven't been moved to write a review of anything before but this is service at its most atrocious, most diabolical! The hosting package is advertised as having technical support 24/7 but after going through an interminably long automated system with an unbelievable array of options, you end up being routed to 'broadband support' who really don't have a clue. They then direct you to a web address and you fill in a form to request a call for technical help- and this call might come within 24 hours! I've been waiting 10 hours now for the call- and I have an urgent need to sort this issue. You begin to worry 'what if I'm driving when the call comes in!?' or 'Will I even get this mystical call to help me from the maze of hell!?'. I'm not kidding after I realised the level of service I decided to switch, and write off the fee I'd paid. I looked at some review sites (I know.. shoulda done this earlier!), and there are BT competitors in this field that offer amazing services for the same/ less money. You call up, you have just 2 options, customer support or technical help, then you get put straight through and you're talking to a knowledgeable, helpful person. I feel like I've been stuck in a tortuous maze today- you finally get through to a nice human being, they express some sympathy and regret about your experience, give you a number and.... yep you're back to the beginning again! Really bad advert for Britain, having the 'British' element in their name. This is the Faulty Towers of the internet age! BT why not buy a service that works, put that brand name to use whilst it somehow retains some value still? Seriously- hang your heads in shame..
