No Airbus A320 Available So A Mcdonald Douglas Pla
No Airbus A320 available so a McDonald Douglas plane was substituted. Interesting Antique. Not much leg room. Delayed take off. Unfortunately it had to stop in Athens to Refuel on the flight (2 1/2 hours refuel time).
FYI leave any liquids/Duty free on board as whilst "in transit" Security will insist you will have to chuck it before re-boarding.
Find another Carrier!

Had Booked To Go To Stockholm From Gatwick. After
Had booked to go to Stockholm from Gatwick. After booking, I initially wasn't emailed an itinerary so had no flight details, even when I searched the Viking website. Eventually got through to customer services and was told just to bring my passport to the check in desk on arrival. However, did this and the very rude lady on the desk demanded to see my itinerary and told me without it I was 'wasting everybody's time'. We were due to take off at 1.25pm but boarding was delayed by over an hour. We eventually got on the plane, only to be told that there was no oxygen tank in the cockpit and we were waiting for some to be delivered. Waited for a further half an hour, only for them to deliver an empty one! We were then taken off the aircraft, with no info as to how long we would be delayed. Were eventually given a food voucher and told we would board at 5pm, which then became 6pm. Eventually took off at 8.15pm. Nearly a 7 hour delay with only a shrug of the shoulders by way of apology. First time flying with Viking and will never fly with them again.

VKH156 - Hurgadha - Gatwick 5th november 2010. For a budget charter airline Viking provided an on time flight, swift check-in, pleasant air crew and a relatively modern A320 plane. Certainly a better all round experience than a number of other budget budget airlines. There is a but though - and it is a big BUT.... the seat pitch is possibly the smallest I have ever experienced, the gap between the seat in front and the front of my seat being the length of my book, later measured to be a paltry 19.5cm. I am 6'1" and my son 6'3". The only saving grace here was that the flight was not full and we had a seat between us. I can't think how we would have coped on the 5 hour flight if it had been full. Do your image a world of good Viking and take a couple of rows off the plane to give us all just a little more room.

I Have To Say That I Have Never Experienced Anythi
I have to say that i have never experienced anything like this in any of the times that i have travelled.
Due to leave Sharm El Sheikh at 15:40 got delayed to 17:00 then 18:00. Eventually get on the plane and get as far as the runway and end up with a technical fault. After 20 minutes we then get told that the flight will be rescheduled for 8-12 hours time due to the fault and that we would be put up in hotels.
It was 2 hours from then before we even left the airport and there was nobody who would tell you anything.
After arriving at the hotel, we get told we can have dinner and 1 soft drink per person, bearing in mind some people had young children with them and staff would not even give them water for the children. My partner and I had not had anything to drink since about 4pm and by now it was about 11pm so 1 drink was not enough by far.
Pickup the next morning was due to be 5am, got a call about 1am to say it had changed to 7am.
Coaches arrived at 7 to collect everyone and we were given breakfast boxes, no vegetarian options.
Flight was due to leave at 9am but did not leave till 10:45. The flight itself was awful, no entertainment or anything.
On arrival back at Gatwick the airline didn't even have enough letters to give people regarding the delay so we were waiting 20 minutes for them to print some more off even though they had had 18 hours to get it all ready and would have known how many people were on the flight.
All in all i will never ever fly with Viking airlines ever again and would never recommend for other people to fly with them. Throughout the whole of this there was never any explanations by staff or anything.
Awful experience which i think would be backed up by the other 179 people on the flight.

Flight was due to depart at 15:40 on 17th Oct
On arrival it was delayed to 17:00 for no apparent reason
Finally boarded flight at 18:30 and proceeded to runway..where there was apparently a technical glitch
Waited in airport until 21:30 with very little communication
Taken to nearby hotel for sleep....given meal and 1 drink before bed
Coach takes us to airport at 7am next day (18th Oct) (breakfast pack included....nothing for vegetarians)
Due to depart at 9am....delayed until 10 am
Flight takes off at 11am (~19hr delay)
No representative to report any news....joke of a company
DO NOT FLY WITH VIKING...ITS NOT WORTH IT

The Most Disgusting Company I Have Ever Flown With
the most disgusting company i have ever flown with, 34 hours of delays , no customer service whats so ever, during safety show people walking around talking over it , it seems every single flight they have has "technical faults" if this is true then clearly they should not be flying at all, i beleive this company to be unsafe to fly with, FOR YOUR OWN SAFTY DO NOT FLY WITH THESE JOKERS if i could give this company no stars i would , they have ignored every letter i have sent to them , that just about sums them up

The Return Flight Was A Nightmare. Flight Cancelle
The return flight was a nightmare. Flight cancelled on Saturday morning and told to return Sunday morning 4am 24 hours later. Hotel provided but no food. On return to airport the following morning there was no flight. There were no reps to help. There was no mention of any flight on any board. Eventually airport information desk told us to buy new tickets to get home. We spent £700 to get to London as no flights to Manchester and hire car to get home. Even paid for elderly lady s ticket as she was stranded with no help. On return to Uk told to contact viking in Greece who would not answer. Found out flights out sat pm and from Manchester to Athens were also cancelled. Mysteriously all had technical faults. I would not trust my dog with these guys. No guarantee you will get where you want. Take the risk if you want but in 20 years of personal and business travel I have never experienced such appalling customer service. Imagine an empty airport, empty checking desk, an office that works mon- fri only and being told find your own way home when there are no flights. Disgusting.
