Shimano St 6000ra

The shimano st 6000ra is a belta for its price. I've had these reels now for 2 years and never had a single problem there cheap, reliable, and look good. Ive got friends who have paid a couple of hundred for their reels and used them for around 6 month before having to send them back for repairs while my 50 quid shimanos still soldier on and still operate as good as new . But then shimano are made to last, these reels are proper work horses . Ive tried a few other brands but these out shine the lot when it comes to value for money and durability. 10 out of 10 from me, shimano are the way forward .

To Say It Only Has 2 Ball-bearings It Feels As If

To say it only has 2 Ball-bearings it feels as if it had 5. very smooth and well made............at £40 from Argos i cannot argue, I have seen the priced at £60!! BUT the only let down is that the reel does not have a spare spool (I use mono and braid as mainline) If Shimano added a spare spool to the reel i think they would be ACE!! the spool can be brought but for a extra tenner off ebay :[

I would recommend

A New Addition To Shimano,s Baitrunner Stable Is T

A new addition to Shimano,s baitrunner stable is the ST 6000 RA. At the budget end of Simano,s baitrunner ranges there are obvious differences between this reel and its more expensive stablemates. However this aside the reel is packed with features such as Varispeed, Super stopperII, Dyna balance and Power roller but to name a few. These features may mean nothing to most however the end result is a reel that is relativly smooth and has plenty of power. The freespool and rear drag system is also faultless with plenty of adjustment. I did think the adjustment knobs for these systems do not look to be as sturdy on those of other models but they do look good and only after prolonged use will any problems show. The reel casts well and comes with a graphite spool. I feel that it woud benefit if supplied with a spare spool but this will have an impact on the price. Spare spools are readily available. I did find the bail mechanism clunky and a little stiff but very precise and positive. I put this down to the fact the reel is new and has not fully "worn in" As it is the reel gives a lot for its price and delivers performance. The reels ability to last the pace will only show with time.
