The greatest thing about this Mini is, yes, almost being pocket-size and not being a tablet yet. Sadly, that's also what makes it ultimately, a limited computer. Even though the design for this Mini is so sleek, memory is limited, as well as battery life (but you can replace them for other batteries with longer durability which worked perfectly). I did find myself at some point having a hard time reading a document after a few hours (10” screen), but it did help me get the job done on the run, as I would never hesitate to bring the notebook along wherever I'd go.

It was a bit odd for the Mini to not have a CD-drive, but yet again, I hardly ever needed it and relied on the USB drivers instead and it was not an inconvenience.

Ultimately, I would recommend it if you are not fond of the idea of a tablet, but also not excited about handling a heavy laptop around your back. If you are looking for something to keep at home, then this is not for you.

I bought my Dell Inspiron mini 10v about 18 months ago in the duty free shop at Manchester Airport. Her who must be Obeyed wasn't best pleased "we're going on holiday to relax not play about on a computer" she said.

Found it to be and absolute dream to use. Yes it is a bit limited, but it's a Note Book. If you want something that's all singing and dancing then it's not the thing to buy.

Not having a CD Drive is a bit of a grind, so having a stand alone CD drive and floppy drive is a bonus

I've had no problems with it, boots up fast, battery life is good, the built in camera is pretty good as well. I don't like mouse pads so got a wi fi mouse and her who must be obeyed thinks its the Bees Knees and does her online shopping on it.

I have owned a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 for 14 months from new.

The hard drive just failed causing the loss of all data and applications. It was a Samsung SATA drive so not very impressed. Replaced it myself but not exactly simple to install Windows without a CD drive....

The OS in Windows XP which is looking very tired now, plus you can't even upgrade the 1 GB of RAM memory as it's soldered to the motherboard.

Another issue is the low screen resolution of 1024 x 600 rules out running many programs requiring minimum 1024 x 768 eg. digital camera software.

It was a gift but I could not recommend it based on my experiences. You can get a lot more for your money elsewhere.

Great little notebook. Battery last hours, easy to type on once i got used to a smaller keyboard. mouse pad is aannoying and sometimes moves the text line whilst you typing. but thats the only fault.

I got one of these about 6 months ago, I use it in front of the tv when something comes to mind that I'd like to know about, film reviews, amazon orders etc. Its pretty good, its fast and it turns on in no time, battery life really good, a pretty solid purchase for me.

I orderd the netbook from the site and paid. I was informed that it would take around 2 weeks for delivery - a long time and I needed something quick, but accepted this. A few days later I got an email saying the delivery time would be longer: altogether it would take 18 days to arrive. I tried to cancel and complain and was told that I cannot cancel the order and complaints do not accept emails or calls; I have to call customer service on a premium rate line....? To make things worse, I have just read the tracking deliver date and it's changed again to another day - a day we are due to go away for a couple of days. Just been a nightmare. I will never ever buy from Dell again.
