Found A Flatmate, All Is Good
Easy to use and found a flatmate.
Still Spamming For Our Business With Anonymous Texts. Avoid!
Received an anonymous text message recommending FlatmateRooms. I asked for their name but no reply. I was suspiciouos. Fortunately I read the reviews (below) which warned me about FlatmateRooms doing this to drum up business, so thank you to other reviewers for warning me off this unscrupulous business.
Terrible
Do not use. They will harass you with texts, automatically enrol you for recurring fees and have a very infrequent user base - many dormant accounts, with no time log to show last login. Seems like they want people to think there are more users than there actually are, and there aren't many to begin with. Received zero inquiries after 1 week of use. Had instant success with Spareroom.co.uk, a far superior platform.
Desapointed, Dont Waste Your Money
Stay away from this website. I was looking for a room to rent and then as usual you need to pay for a membership. Where i spent £15 to a 10 days free acess to the renters. Very desapointed. The 2 rooms i've contact then wasn't available for a week. And still advertising the old advert on there. Emailed the flatmateroom and no answer from them at all. I wouldn't recomend.
A Good Site
I found a person to share my home with in one day , was I very fortunate , I think so I'm not sure what checks the site makes on people applying , so did my own checks too ,very happy with my choice thank you
Excellent Website For Letting Rooms
I highly recommend flatmate rooms and it is very useful and efficient for me to let rooms. I have used them a few times and in a short period I found tenants. The ad has not been fully used and they could pause for my next ad. Highly recommend!
Avoid!
I posted a 'room to let' ad on another site and emailed a few people to offer them my room, next thing I received a text from someone posing as one of the people I had contacted, saying they had found somewhere and that I should try Flatmaterooms. So, I posted an ad on Flatmaterooms and within a day received an email about the room, the thing is though, you can't read emails unless you pay. So, I paid £15 to upgrade my membership, emailed the person back and of course they mysteriously disappeared off the site. Go to SpareRoom, Flatmaterooms is a joke.
I have had the same experience, I was contacted by them via text. I paid 20 odd pounds to register, I have been sent absolute rubbish in daily alerts, the same people over and over again who live hundreds of miles away from where the room is available, totally unsuitable, not even looking in my area and they are the same 2 people they keepi sending! When I look at the people they have not been on line for weeks. I am contacting trading standards, anyone want to join me!!
I agree, I paid £25 and all ads were very old after over 6 weeks I didn't get ONE potential flatmate. Spareroom is much, much better and has a phone number where you can talk to a person!!
. Even Gumtree - which is free is better than flatmate Rooms.
Effective And Got A Decent Bedsit
I was a member for about 2 weeks. But found it hard at first but it got easier when I placed a room wanted advert. It must of made landlords trust me more. I viewed 3 places and then a bedsit was listed and this was great for what I needed. I would say the site is good and has a good search page. I didn't do a room wanted advert first but soon realised its best to have one. Felt a bit like a dating site but it did the job I wanted. They also sent my a link to there advice centre and pointed out how to avoid scam's, wish I new about this when I was on other lower quality sites.
Spam Marketing By Texting Mobile Nrs They Gather In Adverts
The owners of this site seem to agree that Spam Marketing by texting mobile Numbers they gather from "search adverts" is OK.
I tend to disagree this is good practice, also being annoyed by their texts - hence this review.
Not getting caught doesn't mean it doesn't back fire.
Best of luck
Found A Tenent Within 5 Days
The site did everything I needed it to do. I started with the free membership, then upgraded after getting 2 replys. Found a nice student to rent the room for 9 months. They also helped with the tenancy agreement.
