Cancelled Insurance Without Warning

Title says it all. Rang them to get a quote on new car after accident and they said my insurance was cancelled 24 hours previously! No warning. Just demanded I pay the rest of the insurance. Mad considering I was potentially about to give them more money! No effort made to warn me of the cancellation apart from an email sent 24 hours after having already done the deed. Shocking.

Not Worth The Paper

I have been trying to get a cracked windscreen fixed and they want nothing to do with me.I have to go with Nationwide Motorglass it has cost me over £35 on hold,4 day's promising to call me and on my contract with Hastings it says I get a new one free but NO you have to pay £85 up front as the saying goes if it's seams cheap!!! I will certainly will not use them again so be warned. I am going to pay for a local highly recommend company so it Now make's it NOT cheaper but very expensive Please be warned

Please Don't Use Hastings. Write Off Nightmare!

My partners car was crashed into whilst parked up by a stolen car, obviously not her fault and she's unharmed. We rang hastings to be told that after the viewing the pictures we sent them it was a write off and we wouldnt get a courtesy car, so When you need a courtesy car most they deprive you of one. They've assigned a 3rd party company 'co parts' to take the vehicle away and assesss the damage, the problem with that is Co parts auction damaged cars off so it's in their interest to write the car off and not to repair them. Customer service don't seem to care we've made a complaint either and we've been told it could be 3 months before we get a payout, which weve been told will be low, so therefore will have to haggle, is that our job hastings? You're our insurer! Why aren't you doing it on our behalf?

Overall appalling AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We would very much like if the hastings customer service representative who views these reviews would contact us to sort this out.

''renewal Is Not In Line With Competition Watchdog''

My expectations for a fair renewal were/are quietly confident. Why? I now have '5 years NC' from '4 years NC' and SP30 now over five years. However, my monthly renewal figure more than doubled from 42.00 to 93.00 pounds!

I'm 42. No car modifications. No accidents or endorsements. Whoever regulates this industry is clearly not doing enough! My complaints are directed to Trading Standards and Competition Watchdog.

Unorganised Chaos

Did a online quote for my partners insurance I work in the industry myself so naturally I didnthe usual things checked excess,benefits etc called up to pay was told I can't have my online rate as the price has changed they work off real time rates that change every second. Strange I though but hey ho each to there own paid online passed to a page saying you will receive your documents shortly l as I needed to drive there and then I called was told yes you can drive it's fine just processing your payment. 3 hours later no docs spoke customer services was told no cover in force I was horrified as my partner has just done a 30 min car journey with no insurance in place asked them to set up the insurance from now was told we can't find your payment! After 50 mins on the phone and speaking to a rentention manager(I wish I could name as he was the only person who actually sound like the cared and understood the seriousness of the situation) I was sorted so if you need car insurance and want to spend over 4 hours trying to get your policy or you wish to break the law and drive uninsured I'd call Hastings......

Hidden Charges

Hastings look to add hidden charges for everything. If you want to talk to an advisor to buy your insurance then there's a charge. Want your documents then there's a charge. If you don't pay the extras to speak to someone then they will look to clarify a point on your insurance and charge you £25 for this. Either way they will add extras to your premium so go with other companies who are slightly more expensive but state all there fees first.

Rip Off When You Ring Them

A well known comparison website instructed me to ring them to complete insurance...took through all details again...had provided make.model.engine etc of car on webste then was told insurance quote gone up nearly £600...my phone has been charged £6 for this privilege...after reading reviews glad I didn't take insurance.. Gone to direct line....!!...absolute rip off...thats obviously where they obtain a large percentage of their profits!!!.

Disgraceful customer service, told to get a quote from else where and that they couldn't honor the price offered to me 20 minutes before calling (took 20 minutes to get through!)

Hastings Poor Service

Hastings are a second rate insurance company who's only interest is in taking your money and fail to provide any level of service. I had an accident (not my fault) in October 2015 and Hastings still haven't resolved the matter
