Ava Rose Hamilton Bridal Couture

The first appointment was fairytale like! They make you feel like the only person in the shop, so attentive and friendly. The staff can't do enough for you. Me, my mum and MOH all had 2 glasses of prosecco each. The shop is absolutely stunning, a girls dream place. I could not have wanted for a better experience. The collection of the gown was somewhat disappointing unfortunately. To begin I find it unfair that the collection of the dress had to be through the week, as they prioritise new sales of a weekend. I spent 4k on a dress but no matter the price, you shouldn't be made to feel like you're not a priority. The appointment was rushed and there was no spark there, we weren't allowed prosecco just tea and coffee. I had waited 9 months for this day and it was supposed to be just as magical as the day I said yes to the dress. This was THEE dress! The stylist kicked the dress to move the train which I didn't like. I was just made to feel like a waste of their time to be honest. I am left with this pitted feeling that doesn't feel special anymore.

I had my very first bridal appointment on Saturday, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the entire experience. Our service from start to finish was incredible, we was greeted with a warm welcome and drinks to calm my butterflies! I felt like a princess for a day and I even found my dream dress! We celebrated with another drink and I wish I could relive this day again. From the bottom of my heart thank you Ava Rose Colne.

I bought a dress from this company and the experience has been so bad. They have treated me like I am not a human being. My health as a result of the impact on my wedding day and the subsequent communications with this company is rock bottom. The dress that was ordered was too big on top and they have ignored every query.

I am a 34 on top (a size 6) and they ordered a size 12 based on my waist measurements. Due to the lack of seams on the neckline and the structured style it cannot be altered as easily as other dresses - the neckline itself cannot be altered at all as there is no seam. This was explained to me by the seamstress who Ava Rose Hamilton agree is talented and an expert in her job. They said a dress can only be altered up to two sizes (see images) but this dress is three sizes too big for my top. They tried tell me it was two sizes and therefore alterable until I got hold of a size chart that showed it was three sizes. Since then they refuse to address this key issue. They said I had lost weight during the fittings and I had to show their own documentation of my measurements and data from my scales as well as a picture of me with a tape measure to prove this and prove I have been a 34 measurement the whole time. There should have been a consultation on this dress that due to my body proportions a 12 would never be able to be altered to fit. I could have chosen a different dress or gone for a size down that could then have been let out at the waist as dresses can be let out a size. They maintain I chose a size but I was given no choice.

Part of their argument is that I didn't address these issues in the run up to the wedding. Initially I hoped that we would find a way to make it fit and by this point there was no way to order another dress because of the 8 month lead time. I had multiple fittings all the way up until 2 days before my wedding and I was already upset about what was happening - to launch into a back and forth the week of my wedding wouldn't have got me this dress in the right size. They also say that the shoulder straps being tightened would fix the issues with the dress. This is not the case and I have it in writing from the seamstress that whilst it may have made a slight impact, it would not have altered the size of the cups or made a dramatic difference.

Despite sending 8 official photos, other images and the photo of the cups that had to be added, they will not answer any of my queries about the dress because I refuse to had over every single wedding photo - these photos are personal to me, the thought of them being pawed over by this company to try find a way to make this my fault is awful. They say the photos are from unnatural angles but these images are from being stood at the aisle, having pictures with the bridal party, cutting the cake etc. All normal parts of my day. We had a documentary style photographer so these are the images. No one good image takes away from having two additional cups added and having to adjust the dress all day. I am not alone in my experience - I have seen other reviews on Yell from someone having the exact same experience and if the seamstress had tried to make my dress fit she said it would have distorted all the seams as has happened to this other lady.

I have been accused of all sorts and every time I disprove this another argument is thrown at me. I am now being accused once again of losing weight between my last appointment and wedding despite sending pics from my weighing scales app. I have been offered £200 but with no apology and no acceptance of what happened. I have declined this small gesture as it means nothing to my ability to process the impact of how I felt on my day. My wedding day was ruined, I spent the whole day trying to keep the cups from view and I was so self conscious. I am now in therapy as a result at my own expense. I have now been accused of blackmailing them for a review when my therapist suggested I stop communication and leave a review instead.

I was so nervous for my appointment not knowing what to expect. On arrival the staff were so kind & amazing from start to finish especially my stylist. What an Angel!

She made me feel at ease right from the start, and made dress shopping the most magical experience!!

We was taken to our private suite, and I fell in love with the shop instantly.

I had no idea what I was looking for, however, she reassured me, talked me through the elimination process of finding my ideal dress, listened to everything I mentioned and helped me find my dream dress. I’ll never be able to thank her enough.

I had no idea what I wanted and Niamh picked some out for me and found the most beautiful dress. The whole experience from the minute you walked through the door until you left was magical. I dont think I could of ever had a more of an amazing experience than with Ava Rose Hamilton from start to finish it was beautiful, the Boutique was gorgeous and the staff were amazing and so helpful. Our stylist was the most kind lovely person ever who made me feel so at ease and was so easy to get along with, a day I will never ever forget thank you all at Ava Rose Hamilton its every brides dream!

Today I said yes to the dress! The whole experience at Ava Rose Hamilton Colne was magical! The girls where all lovely and helpful, especially the person I dealt with who got to know my likes and dislikes and was a major part in the whole process. I cried happy tears as did my mum and one of my bridesmaids! I would absolutely recommend this boutique a million times over! I haven't stopped smiling and didn't want to take my dress off. Had the most amazing experience at Ava Rose Hamilton. Everything felt so welcoming and special from start to finish. The assistant helped me on the day and was so lovely and helpful and made me feel really comfortable. There’s so many dresses to choose from with so many different styles to suit anyone and I tried a few styles on. Perfect experience and couldn’t recommend enough!

If you watch Say Yes to the Dress, you will have built up an expectation of this store in your head but when you actually see it in real life it beats all expectations.

As soon as you open the door, you are greeted by a big lovely smile and you instantly feel welcome. I was greeted by Bernies beautiful face and she was honestly so lovely and friendly.

The store is very large, spacious and very beautifully decorated. Again, if you watch the show you would have seen they have lots of beautiful dresses but in real life there’s so much more. This was the reason that my family and I travelled all the way from Scotland after trying several stores around our hometown. They honestly have a dress for every bride with every different style, colour and price range.

In the room, there is a well stacked little bar where you and your entourage can help yourself but the lovely ladies also offer to make you a hot drink and a range of other beverages. My family had Buck’s Fizz and I’m pretty sure there was even Zambuca in the bar. They also provide a range of little sweets. In Scotland, anywhere I have seen that provide just arrival drinks you’ve had to pay anywhere between £50-£150. Ava Rose Hamilton provide a luxury appointment for free and they should be very proud.

She is very lovely, warm and kind. She included all of my entourage in my appointment by asking what type of dresses they would like to see me in. She then took me around the store and had me pick out 2 dresses I liked from every rack whilst standing back and ensuring I picked them all by myself. After trying a lot of what I had picked on, I knew none of them where for me. She listened to what I liked and disliked about them all and excused herself for a moment. She then returned with 2 dresses, one of which was MY dress. She picked my dress and I absolutely adore it.

I honestly can’t thank her enough for all that she done for me. She seen how nervous I was about trying dresses on after having a baby 5 weeks prior. I hadn’t tried on dresses since before I had fallen pregnant and even then I would leave the store hating my body and feeling I had to wear a princess dress to cover every lump and bump. She made all of that go away and I left my appointment saying yes to a tight fitted mermaid dress.
