This Is A Great Pub On The Outskirts Of Sunningdal

This is a great pub on the outskirts of Sunningdale in Berkshire. I went here with friends for a early lunch one Sunday and ended up staying all day. It looks quite inauspicious from the outside but inside it's huge and very buzzy.

There are two restaurant areas and a main bar. The centre piece of the bar is a big open fireplace. We were lucky and get a table plonked right in front the fire and settled in for the day We did have a table booked in the restaurant to eat but we cancelled it to eat where we were - which the staff were absolutely cool about as they had no shortage of people looking to take over our table.

The menu is classic British pub fare. I had a filet steak with mash which was really nice followed by a massive portion of sticky toffee pudding. My companions had pizza, fish and pasta all of which passed muster. For a two-course lunch for four and 7 or 8 round sof drinks and coffee and tea the bill only came to £120 which was good value.

The staff were very friendly but not overly attentive of pressuresome (not a word, I know) which was nice. The clientele is a mixture of families and trendy country types who come with their dogs to relax so it has a very relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend...
