I purchased two pairs of prescription glasses from WantGlasses.co.uk in early 2011. In both cases the glasses arrived extremely quickly (first pair took about 28 days, although that was in the runup to Christmas so post was on the slow side), and second pair arrived within about 10 days!

Both pairs of glasses were excellent, very well made, and I am still using them today. The prices charged were extremely competitive (I paid only about £50 for a pair of prescription photochromic lens glasses, and about £30 for a pair with regular lenses, both sets of frames were easily as good as those costing £100 in Vision Express).

So, extremely pleased. It is a shame that the company now seems to have stopped trading, otherwise I would have used them again for sure.

Bought my first pair from them and very pleased with the service, very quick and good quality , was going to order another pair but their site is now down. I will have to look around again and we was recommended to them and we also recommended them to our friends.

**DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE FACT THAT THEY'VE CONTACTED THIS REVIEW SITE - FRAUDSTERS WOULD DO THAT AS THEY NEED MONEY!!**

I ordered three pairs of sunglasses from Wantsunglasses.co.uk in June 2010. Straight away (and you'll see a trend in all the reviews), they sent me an email saying that they're out of stock and the glasses are being shipped from Italy. When I contacted them about 3 weeks later, they said the order was cancelled due to suspected fraud. Key point - it was a direct debit payment so they had my money AND the "sunglasses". From there on I had absolutely NO response from them. Phoning the company number, it's answered by a machine and if selecting an option, you get cut off. I even sent a snail mail letter, but the address is in the middle of nowhere - check it out with Google Streetview! I had to report the crime on the web and fill out some forms for HSBC, and I eventually did get my money back from HSBC.

So, absolutely do not use this company, I can't believe that after a year the website is still on the internet without police or anyone getting rid of it... And they keep updating it! (Fraud is a profitable business!)

I ordered, and paid for glasses, which never arrived.

There is no phone number, emails are bounced back, and the fax number is bogus.

Like so many others, I only read the reviews AFTER I've lost my hard earned money.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

STUPIDLY I ONLY READ THE REVIEWS AFTER PLACING MY ORDER, HAVE A FEELING THEY HAVE GONE OUT OF BUSINESS AND MANAGED TO FLEECE MANY PEOPLE. THEIR PHONES ARE JUST RINGING AND THEY ARE NOT REPLYING TO EMAILS. THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU COMMIT YOURSELF TO LOSING YOUR MONEY.

Have been having problems since March 2011. glasses were late being sent out, then arrived scratched,sent them back had to wait yet again for 2nd pais, guedd what scratched. I think they were the same pair sent our again.. Used freepost address, Royal mail could not deliver as the freepost address is out of date. They left a note for WantGlasses to collect my item which they never did. Could not get refund as glasses never collected by WantGLasses.. They were retrned to me. I sent them back recorded post they were delivered the following day. It has been 1 week and i have sent 3 emails and not had a reply. My emails in the past have been deleated without even being read! No contact number to call them. I am pulling my hair out. Worst ever company i have delt with. NEVER EVER USE THEM...............................

SHOCKING SERVICE

After six months of trying I have received a refund for the incorrect glasses they sent me. The cheque bounced. How can a company with such a poor reputation and clearly no money in the bank to cover a small cheque be allowed to trade any longer. Trading Standards have no teeth at all.

I ordered my glasses at the beginning of May, a straight forward order, and am still waiting for delivery at the back end of July. The 'contact us' text bit on their website doesn't seem to yeild any sort of response for enquiries so I don't know why they bother with it. I did have a small problem with paying for the glasses as the first payment was declined on my card due to some problems I had with that particular card and boy did they hound me for the payment, it was amazing the responses to emails I got but they refused to give me a contact telephone number. They had to ring me at their convenience. However, now they have been paid not one response to any emails I send enquiring about delivery dates. It's frustrating to say the least, I may not be spending a vast amount of money, and judging by some of the reviews here I'm glad I haven't but I still hate being ripped off. I too am going to report them to trading standards. WARNING simply do not buy from Want Glasses it's not worth it.

PLEASE BE WARNED:

If you are ordering cheap specs you will probably receive your order without a problem. However if you order designer specs (as I did back in Feb 2011) you will get lots of excuses:

not in stock

clearing customs

in UK customs but awaiting delivery etc etc.

Once you finally give up and try and get a refund they will tell you they're refunding your card, that you've been sent a cheque by recorded delivery - that never arrives.....and so it goes on.

HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL ALLOWED TO TRADE????????

This is the second pair of varifocals i have purchased From this great online opticians, Great service and on time.
