This site has gone down hill, I use to be great, but not now!

I put a paid listing on boats and outboards. All seemed fine, though I didn't receive any calls about the boat. I went to check how it looked after a couple of weeks and couldn't find it on the website.

I called them and it turns out that it had been flagged as a possible fraud by their systems and taken down.

I explained that it wasn't, they reinstated the ad. The following day, I reduced the price. 'then checked the listing today and found it was down again. It seems that whenever a listing is edited, it's taken down as possible fraud. There is no notification of this and they don't take any proactive action to check. This was a premium listing for 90 days and 20 days in it's been up for less than 1. They don't do refunds as it's been listed.

I'll not use them again and cannot recommend them.

Totally agree with the last post! This site is full of scams, and i cant beleive i was so gullable, but i lost alot of money! I have contacted the site administration several times with no response. They should tighten up proceedures to help stop the scams or shut down the classified sections. I cant imagine how many people are being conned! In short, if you must use this site, go and see the item and pick it up! Dont pay for it and expect anything to turn up because it probably wont and the money will be long gone!

I have been looking through the adverts for boats, I was alarmed at how easy it is for scammers to use this website,on this site boats are being advertised by scammers and it seems you could soon lose a lot of money,I checked the availability of five boats, they were all being advertised by the same person who contacts you,he then wants to do the sale through a private ebay listing.He says he is working in scotland and can only communicate via e mail. I got the adverts removed by the website only for the same adverts to re appear a month later with the same advert number.

I nearly fell victim to this but realised somthing was wrong

I don`t like the idea of free advertising on this site so ptential boat buyers beware.

The name of this site is somewhat misleading. In fact it carries adverts from small boating bits and bobs right through to superyachts. Using the site is VERY easy it is both quick and user friendly.

To advertise on there is free if what you are selling is less than £5,000.

Only one problem which I guess will be rectified sooner or later is that the site isn't fully compliant with Firefox.

It is better laid out and easier to hunt through than its rival site "Appollo Duck" but anyone looking to buy would be well advised to use both anyway.
