Excellent Training
I have completed several courses with learning curve and so have my employees. The company is sufficient and very helpful. The courses can either be completed on line or by booklet, which suits everyone’s individual needs. Support is always on hand and your tutor and the company keep in contact regularly. Support is offered quickly and promptly. I would definitely recommend learning curve group for training
This course is great for everyone of none ethnic background....never products for my skin, the tutor all she did is talk about not going to the Chinese of Vietnamese or anywhere they have the golden cat in the window... was left to felt isolated there was always some comment made when people of ethnic background was involved here practically attacked me as tutors as I wanted to make a complaint and was told I will get sued. This college left me in tears and now I am complaining no one is making an effort to deal with it I am just being ignored
No Communication
Complete and utter shambles from begining to end. No communication whatsoever and when I rang learner support for information they were clueless. I have used the open university in the past so before you hand over money to this shabby lot check them out first. Learning should be an exciting adventure...however I would compare my experience to a monotonous bus journey!!!
Yup not good at communicating
A Waste Of My Time!
All I can say is no I would definitely not recommend this company for distance learning to a friend.
I spent 3months on a course which they put me on, sent me the books, I filled out online had no correspondence the whole time I was doing it, no help at all, was murder to get in contact...still awaiting an assessor and after completing have now been told I am not funded and that someone their end should have told me, what a joke...thanks for wasting my time!!!
Totally Agreed with this
Unfortunately their administration is appalling and they have communication problems. Sorry to hear you wasted months, it appears other reviewers have experienced the same thing.
Learning Curve Business Courses
Learning Curve have now changed their name to Borders Connect and whilst the quality of their course material is good, I do not feel I can recommend them from the point of view of the company's extremely poor standard of administration and tutorial support. It is purely because of the course material I have given them 2 stars.
Tutors seem to just go AWOL on you. The first course I did was a 12 module course which took me 2 years to complete because I had 3 tutors, the first 2 just stopped responding to my course work. I then had to chase up the certificate at the end of the course.
I'm now signed up to another course (should have known better) and the same thing has happened, only this time it's worse. Their phone number is permanently on the answerphone and you are advised to leave a message so they can get back to you, but they never do. They do not reply to emails or the contact form submissions from their website. They advertise an online service where you can chat directly to tutors but this is permanently unmanned; again you have to submit an email message which doesn't get a reply. I have been trying to get my course sorted out for a month now and was given another tutor nearly 2 weeks ago who has not been in contact despite me emailing work. I want to finish by autumn but at the moment it looks like I'm going to be writing it off. I run a small business so have to lay aside time for study.
I would like to know if this company is either going out of business or a scam - they seem to have an awful lot of interconnecting websites advertising what they do (and am suspicious the regulatory body mentioned on their website, FB and Twitter pages may be something to do with them)
Looked at reviews on their RHS courses on here and saw other equally disgruntled people.
I would agree with what you say about some of the tutors being really good, the third one I had on the copywriting course was excellent and the tutor I had on the bit of the Social Media course I completed gave me a lot of good points to think about in terms of my small business.
However, since I posted the above comment I have been waiting for a reply to a letter I sent to their Director, this was back in the autumn and I was emailed to say I would have a response from their directors within 30 days - I was also given a warning about trying to put comments about them on FB or Twitter (which I registered with for the Social Media Course don't use).
They have chosen to ignore my letter, so I fail to see how this company can be viewed as being professional. If I ignored my customers I would be in deep trouble. I am now on an online distance learning business course via a college in London and if I go off the radar for a bit I get an email from a tutor asking me if everything is OK, which is very refreshing.
I would agree with everything that you say, apart from the quality of there course material, which I think was pretty poor (RHS level 2 in principles of horticulture and garden design and maintenance). I am currently studying for the exams and am repeatably finding questions that are not covered in the course work. In fact, It looks like it has been a long time since anyone at Borders compared their course notes with the current curriculum. They are as far as I know, legitimate - they are on the RHS list of distance learning providers, so you would at least hope so!! However, at the point of my tutor going AWOL and Borders changing their name, without a polite email to it's users explaining why, I did have the same concerns. I'm guessing that as an organisation, they are only interested in the bottom line, however, within their ranks, there are some good tutors. My last tutor was a breath of fresh air

Diploma In Psychology
I have just completed a diploma in psychology course with home learning college and it was great, the course has helped me to improve my self- confident and motivation. I was able to develop new learning strategies and how to organise my own study time to fit around my work. In addition, the help of my tutor was excellent. I would definitely recommend someone who is ready to make a difference in their life.

Having Completed Learning Curve's Counselling Chil
Having completed Learning Curve's Counselling Children course, I can thoroughly recommend them. It's a very indepth course with knowledgable and experienced tutors.
However, the course assumes some knowledge of counselling skills (I think it's pitched as CPD for qualified counsellors) and is not suitable for beginners. Although I'm not a counsellor (I work as a teacher) I did have some previous counselling training, so I found the course quite manageable.
There is a lot of really useful practical advice and ideas that I've been able to use in my day-to-day work in school. Like many teachers, I'm finding that dealing with children's emotional issues is taking up more and more of my time, and in the past I've often felt out of my depth. This course gaveme the confidence and skills to deal with these situations I hope more successfully.
If this is your area of interest the course is definitely worth a look :)
(I think the website has changed too to: www.learning-curve.org)

I've Just Completed The Life Coaching Diploma With
I've just completed the Life Coaching diploma with Learning Curve. It's an excellent course and I've thoroughly enjoyed my studies. I've learned more about myself than I ever thought I would (an unexpected benefit!). The course material is very good and the tutorial support excellent. I'm about to launch my own life coaching business, and my tutor has been really helpful with advice and support. An excellent course, highly recommended!
Q&A
How long does it take for the certificate to arrive as I need it for a job interview?
