Beware!!! Stay As Far Away As Possible From Anyth
BEWARE!!! Stay as far away as possible from anything to do with Santender!! They are all a bunch of half wits and not one of them I have had any dealings with know what they are doing, they are a load of incompetent monkeys that do not deserve the customers and should be shut down from trading. They just seem to do one mess up after another and when you try to sort anything out with them you never get anywhere. They need to learn to read and write first before dealing with customers. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and regret that I ever had any dealings with them thats all I have achieved is a load of anxiety and stress, and nothing ever gets resolved.

I Opened A Santander Flexible Isa As It Was A Good
I opened a Santander Flexible ISA as it was a good rate but when checking on the progress at the branch they told me it had been changed to a Postal One. I hadn't done this so I phoned and they confirmed it was a Flexible one after all. Funny.............
Now my husband's new Flexible ISA has changed to a Direct ISA and they are having to look into this as well.
Perhaps they don't like shelling out the 3.2%.

I Was Advised By Bradford And Bingley To Movey By
I was advised by Bradford and Bingley to movey by cash ISA to Abbey in April 2009. At the Abbey branch in Aberdeen I thought I was taking out a fixed ISA for 1 yr with a guaranteed rate of interest. Having had no paperwork from them I phoned today and discovered discovered that my £3,000 has now accrued £3 in 1 yr. They are taking money under false pretences. When I phoned I was told that someone would call me back about this - surprise, surprise I haven't heard a word. I will take out my money and invest it with a reliable ISA provider. Don't go near this company.

Positives:
Excellent rate @ 3.2%
Negatives:
Long delay on processing application.
Takes ages to send out letters. Applied 7th April but I'm still waiting
for one of the letters which contains some security details to log-in to their online banking facility. Rang them up and was told wait another 14 days as they will send a new one. C'mon Santander!

Incompetence And Appalling Customer Service! I Req
Incompetence and appalling customer service! I requested my cash ISA to be transferred from Lloyds to Abbey in November 2009. Lloyds sent me a final statement in February 2010 (yes, it took more than 2 months) but heard nothing from Abbey until the end of March when I got a statement showing 0 balance with no explanation. When I called they said they had not received the money and suggested that I call Lloyds to find out what they did with the money because apparently they could not chase Lloyds after 30 days (which was complete rubbish). It turned out that Lloyds had sent the money to the incorrect account number and since the end of March they are still trying to get my money back from Abbey. In the meantime, Abbey (Santander) have been extremely unhelpful every time I called. I sent a complaint letter to both banks and the only thing I got from Santander was 'a member of my team is investigating your complaint'. They have not taken my situation seriously. I now asked Lloyds to retrieve the money from Santander and cancel the transfer to them. Will be closing my account with Santander. I still do not have access to my money (close to £17000) and really worried. Their systems and methods are also extremely old fashioned and not effective. But their customer service has been the worst I have ever had in my life. I would not recommend this bank even if you were going to get 5% interest on your ISA because you cannot trust them with your money if you cannot trust them to help you when you contact them.

Abbey And Santander Are Stuffing Their Customers.
Abbey and Santander are stuffing their customers. Just got an ISA statement from them. The interest rate was 0.002%. Ours is a direct ISA 1 a/c. Apparently they are on ISA 6. We only changed to this a/c about 2 years ago. THey are offering highish rates then a few months later removing the product ,reducing the rate and starting up with a new product. Recommendation,- don't touch them - it will cost you.

Difficult To Open, Had To Transfer From Esa2 To Es
Difficult to open, had to transfer from Esa2 to Esa3 (both Abbey) to get new interest rate and they sent money to another building society by mistake. Took ages to sort out and now interest rate is bottom of teh league tables again. Asked for transfer forms to move to their latest best buy ISA but after two weeks have still not received a response. Will be moving my savings to First Direct (probably).

Appalling Interest Rates - £30000+ = 0.3%
Appalling interest rates - £30000+ = 0.3%
Links on website to an alternative fixed rate postal isa which gives 3.5% interest are not working - surprise. I have reported this 3 times to no avail!
Overall Abbey do not seem to care that a customer who has been with them for 30+ years is unhappy.
I am in the process of moving my money never to return.
