The Lock Inn Fort Augustus, Loch Ness

This place should be avoided at all costs! We ordered a steak pie and a lamb hotpot.After only about 4/5 minutes the 'food' arrived. The steak pie was just lumps of steak and gravy with a chunk of puff pastry. The other meal was a 'lamb hotpot' with vegetables accompanied with bread. It beggars belief how anyone could call this a hotpot. It was nothing more than a few lumps of lamb stew warmed up in a microwave. The meat was cold in places and just a bit a bit hotter in others, which strongly suggested that the food was just microwaved. The potatoes were just cut in half and they were not cooked and were completely inedible. The vegetables appeared to have been microwaved too. They were on a dish and were all wrinkled and again inedible. Even the bread that came was stale and inedible. This meal was accompanied with two draught diet cokes that were totally flat and tasteless. This meal cost us £26 and it was a total waste of money. It was without doubt the worst meal that I have ever had. I would strongly advise anyone visiting Fort Augustus at Loch Ness to completely avoid this place which is situated on Canal Side.You have been warned.....stay well clear of this awful place!!!!
