This Company Will Find Any Excuse To Charge You When You Mov

The team at surelet come across is very helpful to begin with.Just before I moved out they increased the rent by 26% and when I ask them why they blamed the landlord. Having cleaned the place from top to bottom. I was very disappointed to be given a charge when they did their inspection of the property. They charged me £250 for a cleaning bill. They also continued to take money for my account after my settlement date was over and took a week to respond and replace my funds to my bank account.

The agent is at best useless and will blame everybody else for her adequacies, she will go around with a fine tooth comb trying to find fault and charge the tenants in order to make more money for the landlord.

The property was rundown cold and dirty when I took it over.

Please not waste your money with this organisation as they are at best unprofessional uncaring and then sympathetic.

They Will Rip You Off

They gave the keys of my flat to someone without my permission. I asked them to be present and they just said were too busy, so I had in my flat someone I did not know hanging around.

This "professionals" will take advantage of the tenant whenever they can. They will threaten to keep the whole deposit on dispute if you do not agree to their charges - besides the shady charges hidden under small print.

Run!

Rude, Arrogant, Money Grabbing.

Where do I start. First of all, the woman who was in charge of all our property queries at surelet came across as rude whenever we needed help. Almost every appliance in our house had an issue at some stage and each issue took much longer than expected to resolve, and yes, the landlord is partly to blame for this but the communication with the landlord and the letting agent was atrocious as well. A few chairs in our house were already broken and surelet were intent on charging a tenant for the damage. We had cleaners for our house as well and they are meant to clean the communal areas only, but one day without any of our permission, they cleaned the oven and surely charged the house £70 for this! I had nothing but issues with surelet and I don't recommend anyone to invest with them in the future because I certainly will not!

Great Letting Agent In Gloucester!!

I have used Surelet in Gloucester for probably the past five years! I have several flats, which people seem to move in and out of, quite frequently!

They have been brilliant! their let only rate is very competitive, they always get viewings and find me tenants almost straight away!! They are very helpful, friendly and efficent... and I would highly recommend them!!

One more thing.... all the tenants they have found have been good ones, they do their checks, and I have never had any problems with my tenants?

Thanks to all at SURELET Gloucester...

Do Not Used Surelet Burton-on-trent! Lost £thousands!

We used Surelet in Burton on Trent as they are local and the salesman assured us we would experience a painless and easy letting process. However, this was not the case!

Although Surelet completed 1 inspection (even though we were promised 3), they thought it was acceptable for a the tenant to deal drugs from our house, vandalise, keep 2 Rottweilers, smoke inside cause £thousands of damage and steal items including a fridge and washing machine and then provide absolutely NO customer service.

We were then informed that the cherry on the cake would be a £70 charge PER DAY for any assistance in the court process.

Apparently this is what you get for £800 a year!!

Left £thousands out of pocket and would not recommend them to anyone!

DO NOT USE!!!

We Have Received Consistently Poor Service From Su

We have received consistently poor service from Surelet. When we moved in they performed an inventory on the house which was incorrect and we had to chase them a number of times to get it changed. We reported a number of issues witht he house which they never got backon and again we had to chase them for even the smallest thing. In the end only some of the issues were resolved.

We have lived in a large number of rental properties and have always got our full deposit back. When we moved out we cleaned the house really well. We got a letter to say that they were holding back £45 of our deposit due to greese spots on the kitchen door. When we contacted them about it they said it was for cleaning the oven even though the oven was left spotless and it was not included on the list of issues!! They put in a picture but you could not see anything on it at all. We are currently disputing this amount.

We moved out on the 14th of May and as our deposit was in the deposit scheme we knew we were entitled to get it back within 10 days. However, it did not arrive and repeated calls to the agency we were informed that the 10 days was only a guideline (they have obviouslt never read the rules!!). We kept calling and kept getting fobbed off (the person deealing with it is not here, the manager is not here). We were promised it was in the post last week but when it finally came (the 5th of July) the postmark said the 30th of June. Therefore it took us 21 days to get our deposit returned and that was only done becasue we kept contacting them. I would NEVER let with this agency again and I would recommend that anyoner considering itt hink twice about doing so.

I have been a tenant with Surelet Cheltenham for 2 years 4 months. I have received consistently poor service also. When I moved in, the inventory on the flat was also incomplete and I had to add "many" entries over the course of 2 or 3 days (this was partly because the property is on Economy 7, and partly because I kept spotting new things in-between everything else I had to cope with at the time. I also had to chase them a number of times to get the additions made by me signed by one of the directors. Conversely, when I moved in 2 weeks early (due to very bad problems at my previous shared housing), I was asked to sign a tenancy document without being given time to read it. When I pointed this out, I was screamed at to "sign the bloody document!!!" (It turned out later that this invalidated the tenancy document).

Thanks for the many mentions on this site of 'fees' being taken out of deposits by Surelet - I am still living in the property, and only yesterday told their Franchising Director that I would be withholding rent to cover my deposit as I "no longer had any trust in Surelet". Today, I read these reviews. I was not aware of the hidden 'fees', which should surely be paid by the landlords, especially since Surelet have repeatedly told me (and, apparently, others) that they have no contract with me, but only with the landlord. Maybe this explains why they repeatedly ignore repair notification e-mails, complaint e-mails, and even e-mails requesting that in future they acknowledge said e-mails and respond to them. The property manager who did this to me is (name removed) of Surelet, Cheltenham, who I was told by (name removed), property manager at the Gloucester office, is 'highly experienced' in her role. Clearly not legally aware, however!

These are very far from all the difficulties I had with Surelet, Cheltenham, but I will be commenting on the reviews of others, matching the points they have made to my own experience, so please see my other comments for further information. I am considering forming a self-help group for tenants of this letting agency in Cheltenham, as I have been advised there is strength in numbers.
