Slow Service

I would suggest ordering for collection or online as it takes an average of an hour to get served in this shop during the day, not helpful when you are trying to pop in during lunch.

Online is worse! I needed £900 pure 4mm silver wire and I got 4mm STERLING silver instead!!! After 3months they responded that they will not pay for their mistake and I have to pay for their mistake!!! Better do business with MORRISON & WATSON where there is a logical return policy in place.

They Even Care About The Hobby Silversmith

I have always had a great service from Cookson, the quality of goods has been excellent. The customer service team have always answered my questions and don't make me feel silly for asking them!

I would recommend them as they take care of even the small scale silver buyer like me.

Thanks again

Display Prices Should Include Tax + Product Comparison

When I go to Hatton Garden, 10/10 times I would go straight to Cookson first. Sometimes it gets so busy though that I'm forced to go somewhere else if I'm in a rush, but the new online website is a great alternative as now I can just order things to be delivered to my studio or to be collected for free when it's convenient for me.

I like that on the website I can check current metal prices, and I really think the addition of the filtering system on the drop down menus on the left really help when searching for specific items. the 'related products' section also really helps while browsing similar items. All in all my online and in-person shopping experience at Cookson has always been an enjoyable one.

I just have a few suggestions for the online website. I would recommend displaying prices with the tax already included, so that on first glance one can immediately see how much each item will cost in total. At the moment I am finding it a bit annoying to have to click on the actual item to see how much the price will be with tax added. I understand it's useful to see the breakdown of costs, however, and don't think that should be taken away.

I also recommend that new tabs or a pop out window be opened on the browser when clicking on products within search results. For example, if I'm looking at a page of PMC / Art Clay products, I don't want to have to click on a product, read about it, then have to press back to get back to the previous page to access the list of products. At the moment I'm having to manually open multiple tabs so that I can easily look at and compare more than 1 product at the same time, and it would be easier if the links were set up to do that automatically. It would make it easier and faster to browse and shop.

Since I Was A Student I Have Been Ordering Supplie

Since I was a student I have been ordering supplies from Cooksons and I have never had any problems with them. My orders always arrive very promptly and matching the descriptions on the website. Some items, particularly findings, are more expensive than other jewellery supplies websites, but I still prefer to use Cooksons because I can be assured of very high quality products, which I know will arrive within a day or two of placing my order.

I have been pleased with all the purchases I have made from Cooksons so far, and will continue to use them for my jewellery-making supplies.

What More Could I Want Or Need?

From the first order to the most recent, I have never been disappointed by Cookson Gold. The quality of their products, their customer service, and the facilities offered through the website are without equal. Before I ordered from Cookson Gold, I had tried other companies that promised lower prices. However, those lower prices came with a cost - late delivery, muddled invoices, etc. My deliveries from Cookson Gold have always been speedy. In addition to the quality of the goods provided - from sterling silver wire to tools and findings, I am always impressed by the services offered. I have availed myself of their free Scrap Pot, so making mistakes while working with sterling silver wire doesn't seem so daunting! My account details mean an immediate log-in, a review of past purchase history and a shopping basket that remains full until I make a purchase. Cookson Gold is a partner in my jewellery business success and I know I couldn't do it without them.

Q&A

Danielle1995

I've been looking around everywhere to get a 30cm gold chain cut to be worn as a choker necklace. I came across Cooksongold and need to know if it's worthwhile ordering from there before I do, because I don't want to be disappointed.

Will the gold be real gold or will it go rusty and start turning green - be honest - or is will it be good and reliable?

Thank you for your help. Any other information you have about the company would be very helpful.
