Picasso's Was Recommended To Me As Somewhere With
Picasso's was recommended to me as somewhere with good pizza/pasta food and reasonable prices by Puerto Banus standards. In fact a few people liked it and for the first part of the holiday we often saw people queue to get in. Sadly I came away disappointed.
On our final day we thought we go there for a late lunch. Even at 4pm it was rammed! We got the last free table, crammed in so badly I could barely sit down, but with a good view of the port side and it's glamorous motors and yachts.
Given that every second restaurant in Puerto Banus serves pizza and pasta we were veterans of the cuisine by this stage. I felt like the Egon Ronay of vegetarian pizzas. With the high billing I expected big things of the food at Picasso but it didn't deliver. My 12 euro 'Puerto Banus' pizza was fine but average. My friends food was similarly ok but we'd eaten better at Don Leone and other places.
The service was awful. Rude, disinterested staff who were slow to take orders. The table was dirty, as was the floor. All in all a bit of a let down.
Don't believe the hype and walk 5 mins away to Don Leone - better food, service and a much nicer experience.
