Beware

I bought what I thought was a Caramel Linum Bedspread called Plushious. When it came it was the Linum Bedspread called Paolo, colour Camel. The French Bedroom Company had changed the name and the colour which they told me they were able to do. What this meant was that I paid nearly £100 more for a product that I could have got from a number of other companies. I complained but they really did not want to know...... watch these kind of companies.

The French Bedroom Co are cheats, they steal your money, nearly £3,000, delivery months late. Opened box to a broken chair £430, the director of this company told me ‘to buy some glue’!!!! This is how much they care. They lie, I spoke to rude girl on phone reading from an obviously well used ‘script’ if box not opened within 7 days!! Haha you’re out of luck. When I remonstrated and asked to speak to someone in charge, the woman slammed phone down. Great customer service and director tells me to ‘buy some glue’!!!! Then I ask them to honour their warranty/guarantee?? Big NO NO, why should they look after customers? Why should they give your money back or replace chair. What the little director said (I’ve got whole strings of email from the man!!) is No, he will not honour his legal requirements. And tough luck!! Apparently the rude lady who slammed down phone, her feelings were hurt?? And they have to look after her mental health??? Well it’s got to be better than mine because she hasn’t just blown £430 on a chair that is not FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Long Wiait!!!

I’ve ordered two beds from the company nice products but a three month waiting time on a bed why????

Happy to take full payment which I thought was a bit greedy and no feedback to date,I do find the “ white glove service “ a bit greedy to ( basically they set the bed up and take your rubbish, something I would expect for free when I’m waiting 3 months for a bed) purely my opinion but again when your spending nearly 2k on a bed, o & have I mentioned the 3 month wait I would expect them to wipe the charge. Customers Talk and like I say it’s left me a bit peed

Almost 3 Years On

I would firstly like to state that I thoroughly enjoyed the service, superb! They were so lovely and helpful.

I have recommended this company to friends and family and everyone of them have gone on to purchase from this company.

This review is not meant to tarnish the reputation of the company. But rather to ensure that they are made aware of certain problems with the furniture. I bought all my furniture from this company mostly the Versailles range and they are beautiful. I bought them and shipped them to Nigeria in December of 2014. However, the fabric is much too fragile. I hardly sit on the furniture but they have ripped. They ripped about 8 months after, even the bed has sustained tears. The chaise and chairs Have ripped. They are very tightly drawn, they came with faint horizontal stress lines and they began to rip along those lines. i googled to see what others had to say about the quality of the furniture and came across this review website and saw that responses were given so I figured I may as well finally speak up.

I will say again that I love the pieces I bought and the service I received and would gladly buy again from this company should the need arise however please take care of the fabric problem. And I would very much appreciate a suggestion as to what to do.

Poor Quality Products

I felt the need to share my experience so that before others buy from the French Bedroom Company, they are aware of my experience.

I purchased the Versailles chaise at around £550, because, like others, I really liked the look of the product. Unfortunately the quality since then has not held up. Within the first year, a very noticeable crack appeared along the joint between the seating and the leg. On that occasion, after sending over pictures and verification, a new one was delivered. I was told this happens 1 in 200 cases. I thought well I was just unlucky on that occasion.

Recently, one of the buttons on the seating has popped up, I do not EVER sit or place anything on this chaise, it is purely decorative, it is not near a radiator or a window, so there are no heat/humility/wind/temperature issues. I can only assume that the quality of the threads that hold the buttons down is of inferior quality, so that over time, they lose their strength.

I have contacted the company's customer service, and have been told that because it is outside their one year warranty period, there is nothing they can do, and they stand by the quality of their products.

This was an expensive item, that should have withstood the test of time, even if used for seating.

I felt this is important for others to know that before you get enticed by the style and look of the furniture pieces, please bear in mind that the quality in my experience no way justifies the price. By that time, the warranty falls away too and you have no one to turn to.

Unfortunately I don't think I can post pictures but I will try post on the company's facebook page.

We couldn't replace your item as we stopped selling it over 2 years ago.

And we always want to respond to customers reviews - good or bad - if a customer takes the time to give us feedback we always want to respond, and we always appreciate the comments as it helps us learn and improve.

An item that costs as much as I paid for it, not sat on ever, should NOT have buttons coming undone, that is absolutely a quality problem. You may not have returns because people get lazy and may not always pursue it, you seem to have a perfect answer for every negative review, but I posted this review because I think people need to think twice before they pay out this much cash for your products. I take pride in my furniture, spend a lot of money on buying them, look after them, and if they break, I understandably get annoyed. What annoys me even more is your repeated mantra of "we stand by the quality of our product". Please have the humility to listen to what your customers say, good or bad. Please try not to be dogmatic, you don't make your own goods, they are made in the Far East, product quality can sometimes fail, please acknowledge that.

You have just lost yourself a customer, not because of the bad quality per se, but because of your stubbornness to acknowledge that this is even possible.

We really stand by the quality of our products and we guarantee the quality of all our items with a 12 month warranty.

As you purchased this item over THREE YEARS ago, we can't offer a free replacement because a button has fallen off. Our furniture is made from a really sturdy construction, and we have almost no returns.

You actually purchased a different item that we stopped selling over two years ago – it was not, as you say, our Versailles Chaise which costs £1060 and has no buttons.

We would love to be able to help you, but we can't extend the guarantee of our products to over three years. No retailer (large or small) would do this, and we hope you understand.

This company is the best of it's type I have dealt with so far.

Superb customer service from the onset , with swift delivery , going that extra mile to get my beautiful cushion to me at a time convenient to myself.

So Happy With This Company, Can't Stop Buying From Them!

I am addicted to this company!

After buying about 12 items from them I thought it was time I wrote a review.

The staff are really friendly and helpful.

They always call me to ask me when I'd like to receive my items.

The delivery men are really helpful and friendly.

The products are AMAZING and without exception, better in the flesh.

They are so pretty, and so unique, and my friends always ask where I got them.

I will be back...!
