Precision AP110 Global Radio Controlled Travel Alarm Clock

A good looking battery only stylish travel alarm clock with a big digital display and date and room temperature read outs. Usual snooze and backlight functions. Best of all where ever you are in the world it will seek out the nearby transmitter and update its time or you switch functions and find current time anywhere in the world. All sounds great.

Unfortuntaely the design input stopped at the case appearance.

Where to start. The partial case cover, leaves the vulnerable screen unprotected from case crush, hinges back so the display sits very upright. The display unit is very thick and heavy for a travel clock so is top heavy in its only sit up and beg position, unstable. The display screen has a very narrow beam of visibility, looking at anything off the perpendicular to it and it is invisible, hence the unstable sit up an beg posture. The angled support does not have a nudge function for backlight and snooze. The snooze backlight top button is thin but the backlight is only very briefly on. There is a row of five small tiny buttons with very small function icons. In the dark you have to find the third button along and press it four times to turn off the thin sounding alarm that does increase in warble and try and spot the very very tiny display icons as to which alarm setting is now current. As yes, it does have two alarm settings, but not being a continential siesta taker, not had need to use the second alarm.

You have the option of either 12 or 24 hour display but only day month order in 24Hr and only Month Day order in 12Hr settings.

Such a shame, nice looking clock with huge benefit of global time keeping let down by very poorly designed and thought about features. Not a patch on my obsolete clock it was supposed to replace.
