So we tried to make a claim on the insurance as we had a call from the hospital on the day of departure (packed and kids in the car about to leave) that my wife was advised not to fly. A couple of days before she had seen a doctor who thought her symptoms were just a virus but if she was more concerned she could pop to A+E to get checked over. The hospital said they couldn't find anything but it could have been a suspected stroke and they would do an MRI just to be on the safe side but that we were ok to fly in 2 days time. Obviously a consultant who was booking the MRI thought different, hence the phone call.
Absolutely gutted we unloaded and felt assured that at least we would get the money back through insurance as we were medically told not to fly.
After putting in the claim and a bit of backwards and forwards we also submitted her past 2 year medical history, no problem. Only to be told that because she had been to the doctors 20 months before with a headache and prescribed medication for 2 weeks our claim was rejected. In the doctors notes it states no reason found for the headaches and no further investigation required.
We took out the insurance in good faith ans why would you take out an insurance policy that you knew would be useless ?
So beware that any medication prescribed in the last 5 years from the doctor for any reason needs to be disclosed (probably best to request medical history from the doctor as who can remember everything they have been to the doctors for and how long ago it was??).
I tried to talk to InsureFor to see if they would offer any other support who just hide behind AXAs decision and don't seem to care about customer care. Ruined holiday and no support or care given by InsureFor. Offered a chance to put it right and to help but just say they can't do anything (Yes they can, they are the company who sold the policy and who.my contract is with, they choose not to and that profits are more important than customer satisfaction).
Obviously will not be using them again and would not recommend them for your travel insurance. Such a shame as would have happily used them again if the experience was positive.

Stay Clear Of Insure.com.
STAY CLEAR OF THIS MOB INSURE.COM. They happily take your money but if you dare to make a claim they ship you on to another organisation REACTIVE CLAIMS set up to blatantly stonewall you and fight every penny of any claim. They are absolute sham merchants in every sense.
In the summer of last year my wife and I booked our honeymoon (flights in and out of Scandinavia and hotels in various cities with train journeys between there selected cities).
I mistakenly used INSURE.COM as my insurance provider for this 2 week trip. 3 DAYS prior to our honeymoon I was hospitalised with an abscess and when I came out of hospital the wound required dressing every day for around a month, longer than the period of the planned honeymoon. Prior to hospitalisation we managed to cancel what we could. Hotels in 3 or the 4 cities we planned to visit, but the flights into Copenhagen and out of Bergan, the hotel in Copenhagen for 3 night and the train journeys between the 4 cities had already been paid for in advance and therefore none refundable. This a shortfall of around £1300 which I wrongly assumed that the insurance would cover!
I managed to obtain a statement from Ryanair saying our flights out to Copenhagen were not used and also from the hotel in Copenhagen saying that our booking though paid for was never used. A big thank you to these 2 organisations. But REACTIVE CLAIMS say they will not pay out because I cannot obtain a statement from the Scandinavian Rail Company or Norwegian Air to say that the pre-booked tickets were not used by someone else! Obviously we didn’t travel during this period of ill health and we don’t know anyone in Denmark, Sweden or Norway to give these tickets to.
My recommendation to anyone reading this is to use a known reputable insurance provider and certainly not these jokers.
Their paperwork and statement requests are unreasonable, you only need to provide reasonable documentation. You have made a valid claim it is for them to deal with this end. You need to make a complaint in writing and take it to the Financial Ombudsman - Insurance.

Total Waste Of Time And Money
The worst insurance experience I've ever had. Bought travel insurance for a family trip to Spain. Few days before we were due to go my son got beaten up, ended up on hospital in a very bad way and we had to cancel. I managed to cancel the apartment and some elements of the trip but I was still around £500 out of pocket so I put in a claim. The claim goes through a company called Reactive. Everything is SLOW... massive forms, repeated requests for the same bits of paper. I provided everything they asked for - emails from the hotel, hospital forms etc etc. They insisted I provide a no-fly letter from Ryanair (even though they had ample proof that we had not made the trip). This proved to be nigh on impossible to get hold of... it took me hours of messages and waiting on hold and almost a year! Eventually I got it, sent it in. I then got an email telling me they would not pay out on my claim - because the excess is £195 per person, kids included, so the excess is more than the claim!!! So maybe this is in part my bad - I should have read the policy more carefully, but I had read it and had read it as £195 per adult. But WHY oh WHY not check this excess before they insist I fill in reams of forms? Before I spend hours chasing and sending bits of paperwork? Keep in mind they know my son has just come out of hospital with a serious head injury... all they cared about was asking me for yet another bit of paperwork (hospital discharge form, letter from GP... Why put a parent through that for nothing?)
This travel insurance has cost me so many hours, a ton of frustration, and was beyond worthless. Please don't use this company - if you actually have to claim it's just not worth it.
Unable To Contact
Have tried to contact this company 8 times by phone, once by chat and 2 emails, to make an amendment to my travel insurance. I have had no reply to my emails and just cannot get through the phone lines. It makes me think that if I did want to make a claim in the future it would be near impossible.
Customer service non- existent.

Awful Company Never Answer Phones
Have been trying to get in touch with this company for a month. Have tried phone calls you are left hanging on for hours, our age life is too short to be holding on too long! Try emails, they come back saying we can only talk to the account holder, I am the account holder. Then they say not the right email address! Oh come on. We can’t discuss this in an email you need to phone, you don’t answer the phone you email, we are extremely busy they say but we do answer. Just don’t even bother with this company. They are cheaper for a reason I now know what that is they don’t employ anyone and I seriously doubt if I had a problem they would not cover me or even answer the phone! AVOID

Adding Cruise Policy Onto My Excising Policy
I want to add criuse insurance on to my existing policy tried to ring them for 4 days a different time of day can’t get through just saying they know I am on the line. Went on the Chat and they said they would try and get someone to ring me if they can, still haven’t heard anything. It is absolutely disgusting. Would not recommend anyone to take out insurance with this company. Need to ring me as I have spent a lot of time and money as I think it is a premium rate when you ring.

Avoid Like The Coronavirus!
I took out an annual premier policy last summer with the winter sports upgrade, they did not cover the Coronavrius and were so rude on the phone.
I would honestly never do business with this company ever again. They have so many specified clauses that ensure you do not get your money back.

Worst Insurance Ever
I discovered today that my Insurefor Annual Premier policy does not cover me for losses incurred as a result of Coronavirus and flight cancellations. Whilst Ryanair have done the right thing and refunded flight costs in full on the back of Foreign Office advice not to fly, Insurefor have washed their hands of the problem. The policy clearly says that if the Foreign Office advises against travel then the policy is not valid for those who travel. However, if a policyholder adheres to this advice, Insurefor will not refund any costs incurred as a result of cancelling. This strikes me as immoral. I have used this company for a number of years but this will now stop. Fat cats at their worse and I am embarrassed to think that I fell it. I am lucky that I have lots of friends across the UK to share this disgraceful behaviour with.
