I joined about 2 weeks ago and I simply cannot get a verification code, it is now saying I need to submit the correct email even though it is correct, have submitted online contact form 3 or 4 times and absolutely no answer. Will do a chargeback through my bank. Avoid.

Disappointed that there are so few 'active' members. It is good that they tell you when a member was last online but so so many were on a long time ago so not worth bothering with.

Ladies responding to messages with 'I am not a subscriber so can only use one-liners' . . what a waste of time and of course if you do want to chat to these cheapskates you must pay extra.

Do not waste your money on this site and if you do subscribe don't forget to cancel the repeat payments.

This is the first site I have signed up with. I have been online dating since April. On the positive I trusted the brand and still do. I am 63 and thought there would be more people to link with in that age group. The reality is I have been 'liked' by everything from a 21 year old through to a 98 year old. There seems to be very little in my age group or who live within the 100 mile radius I specified. I have frequently been offered matches who are much older or much younger than me. A lot seem to live in London or Scotland! In addition I have the same experience as others on the site, which is people haven't been online for months or they are not full members and conversations are out the question.

I started feeling quite excited at the possibility of meeting someone, however it is proving much more hard work and full of more disappointments than I had envisaged. I think I look reasonable for my age but of course I do face the fact that I am no young girl so maybe the disappointments are because of this so need to be a bit realistic and not blame it all on the site! I have had a few conversations by e mail but no dates [ COVID has not made that easy anyway]. The e mails fizzled out quickly. I got a 'like you e mail' then no reply after that. Also several people not full members who sent one liners but that made it nigh impossible to communicate. I am signed up for 6 months and will stick at it but not hopeful of a positive outcome based on current experience to date. I do see the same faces and details coming up time after time so there does not seem to be a wide assortment of members.I plan to join some local clubs as well to supplement my online efforts. I dont think the non full members element is helpful at all so I would recommend that is changed. I also thought SAGA would be the go to dating site but I think membership numbers are low. Overall will persevere but had expected and hoped for more from this brand.

There so called system, is pathetic All waste of time and money stay well clear.

'This is a dreadful website. I searched for a 47 - 57 year old university-educated chap (with a photo) who doesn't want any more children, living in either Bath or Bristol. Bath returned 8 candidates, 2 of whom haven't used the site for over 6 months; and Bristol offered 16 fellows, half of whom haven’t logged on for over 6 months.

The lucky 6 viable men in Bath have a selection of 13 university-educated women in the same age-range who are still active on this site, and the 8 remaining Bristolian guys have 14 women who have used the site within the last 3 months.

There are only 42 university-educated women between 47 - 57 in the whole of Kent who have used the site within the past 3 months and they only have 12 similar men on offer!

Saga - refund our money and close this site down!'

This site in reality over-inflates its worth and from experience it fails to match the standards it purports to have. I receive matches and fans from a whole range of places, including many from overseas. My criteria is I wish to speak to people within a 50 mile radius of where I live the majority of people who supposedly have viewed my profile are often overseas or in excess of 100 miles away. I live on the Fylde coast not Hampshire or the USA. When you look at the supposed matches you realise people in loose terms want the same things from a partner so mathematically we are matches to the majority of the opposite sex subscribers.. I certainly will not subscribe again, it is for the majority a entertaining disappointment.. Best 

I am 63 and female. I have tried various dating sites and had high hopes for Saga based on members I saw before joining. A lot of these members seemed to vanish once I signed up. In nearly 3 months (due to end soon) I have not managed a conversation with anyone and I have sent messages - the number of profile views I have had is the lowest number I have received on any site (below 150 in 3 months) so think the membership is much lower than they let you believe. All in all a waste of time and money.

I was on this site for a while with a subscription.

Without paying you can't answer other members properly you just get silly one liners that don't give any clue to your personality.

With subscription you are encouraged to contact others, take the initiative.

The majority of members don't have subscriptions, ergo they can't answer you so effectively you have a very narrow range of choices

The site also advertises your profile on its sister sites. There are quite a few. If someone sees you on those, even if they have a subscription on that site they can't send self written messages to ypthe other sirptes. Surely this is false advertising. And it is you who is being advertised!

There are much better sites with less proscriptive ways of self description.

I think that they should say what percentage of their membership are able to make contact, isn't that just what dating is about?

As a man on this site I thought Ihe ladies would at least contact me but that didn't happen, I had to do all the contacting. Makes me think ladies didn't trust the site.

Would have like more personalised profiles, there was far too much use of Saga's own wording 'stylish in my own way'. Were many of the contacts actual full members. If you contacted a lady they would reply 'I'm not a full member'. It was quite easy to chat to ladies who were full members though.

Long winded enrolment with too many restricted answers. Will not show photos until they have a profile photo they approve of, don't know if it's a troublesome employee or fatuous policy but gaining approval can be a nightmare,and worse still, they don't give reasons for rejection or even tell you it has been rejected. Their guidance only says a clear head and shoulders shot yet they reject such photos(some shots on site are quite indistinct and worse than ones I had dismissed so not even consistent). It can take an age and a complaint to get anything accepted. Looking through the site I see many entries with blanked photos but an indication that one or more photos exist.

Without photos you are wasting your time.

There are many less intrusive and awkward sites, use one of those and do not waste time and money on this one.
