An Expensive Waste Of Money

Avoid Harveys posh named "leathaire" like the Plaque. We paid heaps of cash for a corner suite + plus 1 recliner chair, the suite now after 5 years looks 30 years old. Paying out that amount of cash you expect a suite to last you donkeys years, and not just 5.. a terrible suite. Even a charity shop refused it when ityried to get rid.

Its had normal use, only 2 of us and the rare visitor, leathaire is simply appaling..STAY AWAY

Recliner Lever And Cable Broken, Colour Disappearing

We bought this sofa from Harveys but have had trouble with the recliner, the lever breaking within 12 months and now the cable has also broken. The sofa is also loosing its colour and we only have usual wear & tear I would not expect this.

Not under any circumstances would I recommend this to anyone avoid at all costs.

Warning! - Do Not Buy - You Will Regret

I use my chair between 2-4 hours a day.

Just over one year after buying the Bel Air chair I noticed the surface had started peeling away which got gradually worse through time. I contacted Harveys who said that their insurance company Servico would inspect the chair. Servico said since damage was not accidental they or Harveys could not compensate or reimburse me. Both were a waste of time.

Servico and the Bel Air suite both receive under a 2* rating on the review centre but I would gladly give them zero stars if I could. At 68 years of age I have had a number of suites in my life but this without doubt is the worst. The problem when the top surface comes away after about one year of light use is something that I have never experienced or had expected with any suite I bought. I would warn others not to buy BEL AIR.

Finish Doesn't Last

I probably sit on it around 2 hours a day and don't have anyone else living here. I noticed the finish around the seams was lighter as if I was constantly rubbing against it.

I contacted Harveys about the issue 1 year and 1 week after I purchased it and because I had the extended warranty I had to go through them instead.

An interdependent inspector came out and said the entire arm needed to be replaced and that this problem should happen, especially as the sofa was shiny and looked like new.

However the claim was rejected by the extended warranty campaign because it was not caused in a single incident - e.g. if I had stabbed the sofa with a knife it would have been covered but because it was a wear and tear issue it wasn't.

So now I have to use brown Kiwi shine and protect to stain the worn areas brown, the colour matches the sofa and it hasn't effected my clothes yet.

Stay away from this sofa.

Worst Thing We Have Ever Done

Loved the suite, when we had the faux suede an decided to get an electric recliner model. Was talked into getting the Leathair by the sales person, easy to clean etc rather than getting proper leather. Worst mistake of our lives. 6 months on and Dye transfer makes the sofa so disgusting we are ashamed to bring people into our home. Nothing will touch it or trying to get rid of the stain, where at least with our old leather suite we at least had a fighting chance to get it back to some sort of normal. Harveys are useless and the insurance conveniently states dye transfer is not covered so that is as useful as a chocolate fire guard and not worth paying out for. Don't buy it chose something in leather with a good cleaning kit or get a good insurance that covers dye transfer, which Harveys will not do.

Leathaire Nightmare

Sofa looked amazing when it came

Stylish comfortable etc but it soon began to flake and peel the finish just comes off very quickly and if u have kids your asking for trouble they said this material was tough and durable it's all lies . Buy a leather one this material is just pure junk so is Harvey's service and unless you accidental spilt something on it the chance of repair is slim so make up an excuse before u phone even if it's a lie or your repair service you have paid for wont even get a reply good luck

Cannot Clean!

Bought the Lathair corner group a year ago and it has accumulated normal dust and general dirt. I asked Harveys how to clean it as normal products do not touch it but they could not recomend anything. As it is a very expensive sofa £2500 I called a professional who looked at it but said his chemicals cannot clean it. I have always cleaned my own sofas but general dirt and grime will not come off and the sofa is almost useless.

Think It Has Woodworm

I bought harveys 3 and 2 seater sofas in brown faux leather in January 2012 but it wasn't delivered until march 2012

Now years later I ahve started to find small white creamy worms coming out of it. After doing research it appears it's wood worm. Now I have read it takes up to 3 years to notice. I'm now wondering wether Harveys are liable as I have never had this problem in any other part of my house

Rally angry as it cost me £647 2 years ago now it will have to go on the tip and I can't replace it!

We have the chair and sofa the chair back is very loose and there does not seem any way of tightening up the mechanism due to the fact everything on the chair seems to be riveted
