Disgraceful Service
DPD service is terrible. They repeatedly lie to customers, blame customers for their failures and treat parcels with contempt. There should be criminal charges brought against them for the way they psychologically harm customers. It is an appalling company, do not use.

An Absolute Joke.
So, you pay extra for your parcel to be delivered the next day by DPD; you wait, but during the day you are emailed a time, in my case 3.58pm - 4.58pm.
At 5pm I got a email saying that the driver is running late..... that's it.
No delivery, no driver, no contact - Good night!
Sunday morning - NOTHING.
I contacted DPD online to track the parcel and found that it had been taken to their Roche depot in Cornwall at 2038hrs - BECAUSE "Your parcel could not be delivered as the receiver could not provide a valid PIN code"!!!!!!!
COMPLETE BiLLOCKS!
Nobody contacted me and I had the PIN number ready. The issue for me is did they even drive to my area; I don't think so.
I emailed their Head Office and had a reply from Germany asking for more details - still waiting.
I then rang their customer service centre in India I guess and was told that there was nothing to be done until Monday!
When I rang DPD again an automatic message stated that the parcel was now in Plymouth Devon, not Roche Cornwall....
The kick in the head was that now on their tracking page it says "As requested, your parcel will now be delivered on Mon 06 January 2025"!!!!!!
REQUESTED - what a scandal.
SORRY doesn't do it for me because of the immense inconvenience this shower has caused me.
Hate to think of another wasted day tommorrow but let's face it, the UK thrives on failure.

Deplorable Service
Ordered a new Hi-Fi system on 30th Dec from a retailer in Glw. They advised it would be delivered on Dec 31st by DPD. Message received to say it will arrive between 19.30 -20.30hrs . Our address has electric gates which we left open for the delivery driver. The gates have a sensor that warns us someone has entered.
Text received from DPD failing the delivery due to nobody at home...lies. No music for New Years Eve. Parcel delivered on 2nd January to a local Sainsburys/Argos for me to collect.
Another text from DPD on 2 January to advice another (Different ) parcel due to be delivered same times . Again same scenario failed delivery another lie and this time we have to drive 30 mins to collect from DPD depot.
Date of experience: 30 December 2024

Stay Away From Dpd
This is not the first time I have been disappointed with DPD. In fact, when a company sends me a parcel via DPD I know there will be problems. I ordered two items from one company in Birmingham and they were supposed to be delivered to Bristol the next day. DPD delivered one parcel and the other was sent to Bridgwater. When will I get it? I don't know, from my experience, maybe in a week or maybe never. You can't talk to anyone because the phones are bots. No way to make a complaint. DPD has once again shown a lack of professionalism.
Finally I received my parcel after four days. I remind you that the parcel should be delivered the next day. DPD stoped parcel in Bridgwater for 48 hours for no reason, although he should never have been there because the tracking said that a parcel was on its way to Bristol. ????

Mislead From Delivery Driver & Lack Of Customer Service
Paid for Next Day delivery as this is a Christmas Gift. Allegedly driver Gheorghe tried delivering today - time unknown - but I was not in. I have been in ALL day. Red photo on tracking info - nothing is red at my house. I also have a gravel drive and 5 dogs. Nobody came near my property. Fobbed off when I first enquired and no answers. Second time then told that my parcel was still actually at the Depot!! So Tracking was FALSE and Photo was FALSE. Photo was red blob anyway and not of any property. Not acceptable. Sham artists take your money and literally - do not deliver. Raised a complaint - but they will not send me the outcome of the complaint... so have no assurances anything whatsoever will be done. I appreciate it is Christmas but(A)don't mislead and say you've tried delivering when you haven't (B) Actually do what has been paid for, ie Next Day Delivery and (C) treat customers with respect and provide the complaint feedback they have requested.

Delivery Chaos
Yet again ANOTHER bout of delivery chaos from DPD. An "attempted" - or non-attempted? - delivery and I'm messaged that I'm "not in". I get left just a photo (no package visible) of a decrepit door on an obviously derelict property - that is not my house! No communication from courier as I waited at correct address. Chat with DPD is with a bot of course and the simplest query is contorted by "options". Each time there's a mess with DPD despite all other firms' couriers coming straight to my house with no problem!

Useless Tracking & Customer Services Will Say Anything To Ge
So. I get short notice for a delivery from DPD, on 10th Dec. Time slot 10:38 - 11:38.
As this was sky equipment, I had to be home, to swap the old for new.
At arround 2pm, contact them on their "chat" only to be told, the package would arrove, and be pation. Im pretty sure it was a BOT!
5pm, still nothing, so i use the chat again. I was assured that delivery would be no later than 8pm.
At 7:30pm, tracking suddenly starts reorting driver is 1 stop away (aprox 15mins). I can see the driver is only a few streets away.
At 8pm, i check again. The driver is back in dunstable, the DPD depot. To get there from where he was, he had to drive past my house.
So now I need to spend another day, home, but I dont eeven know, when delivery will be rescheduled.
I have been lied to.

Do Not Use Dpd
This is thee worst courier company I've ever come across, you pay for a 24 hr deliver and gets delivered after 72 hrs every week. Total joke of a company. My son's medicine never gets delivered on time, and I mean never. Please avoid at all cost.

Disappointing
I experienced very poor customer service and unprofessional handling. I paid for next-day delivery, but the item arrived five days later. The company didn’t take responsibility for the delay, which caused me to lose several important clients. This level of service is unacceptable. I will never use this company again and strongly advise others to avoid it as well.

Retailers - Stop Using Dpd
Dpd drivers love to claim they tried to deliver when they haven't, so that they can make you collect your parcel. It happens so much (just take a browse through reviews on here, Trustpilot, ReviewsIO - there's a VAST number of 1 star reviews all saying the same thing - 'I was home and nobody tried to deliver'. This is obviously a practice which DPD as a corporate entity endorses and is happy about, otherwise they would have done something to stop it, to try to stem to raging flow of these awful reviews. DPD have now become synonymous with dishonesty and lazy drivers. Retailers if you value the reputation of your own company you should stop using DPD, they are not doing the job that you're paying them to do
Q&A
DPD have my parcel, they have now told me there was a fire at the depot which was holding it and they think it may be there.
They made no attempt to tell me this, I have chased them. They just kept saying my parcel had been delayed and moving the delivery date.
I have contacted the seller (Netherlands company) and they will not refund me until they receive the parcel. which I'm guessing is now damaged or at worse, ash.
Who is responsible DPD or seller?
If your parcel was insured for damage as part of your postage costs, I would think DPD are responsible for paying the seller compensation. Not sure of the full details of your parcel but I had a similar issue with a parcel sent to an EBay buyer by myself using Royal Mail. I had to refund the buyer & claim the compensation from Royal Mail as they damaged the parcel!
I hope that helps
