No Support From Uship When Problem Arises

uShip connects people who need something shipped (customer) with those who would complete the shipping task (shipper). Several things to be aware of: 1) uShip does NO vetting of the shipper; 2) after several conversations with potential shippers, it was obvious the shippers re generally a guy(s) with a truck; 3) when the shipper takes your furniture and holds it hostage (looking for more money), uShip will remove itself by simple returning your money; 4) uShip takes approximately 20% of cost for providing this internet application.

Our shipper turned out to not have legal authority to transport goods across state lines; turned out to have a manufactured DOT number; was allowed to have a "partner" open an account with uShip and later disappeared; etc

Based on frequency of crimes in this area and depending on the value of your goods, a judgement will be made by the shipper whether it is more value to deliver your goods o sell on the outside.

Law enforcement now involved!

Price Verses Service Value

As a service provider on what are "reverse action websites" I think I can offer a window into the system and its serious flaws. One must must unbderstand why the site works and what you are being sold. You are told that trucks, vans are travelling around half empty and so you can include your item on-route. We call this Back-load. Savings can be as high a 70%. Wow you think, but you might ponder how that is actually possible in a commercial world without there being some downside!

The sites prevent you from talking to me other than via a text based anonymous message board. The business model makes money by ensuring the provider gets the least amount of information but allows the customer to list anything at daft prices and forces providers to accept fixed fee listings costed at below cost. It will perhaps cross your mind by now, that if you don't value the service, it unlikely you will look at anything other than price. Every site I am listed on exploits the provider, simply because of supply and demand. Imagine if one purchased an operation on your body via the lowest bidder!? When one defines the service by price alone then service value declines. Its nothing unusual to note items of little value being transported hundreds of miles and I can understand the logic of paying less for the transport than the goods themselves. Likewise, there is little interest in moving anything if its not worth it thus the provider takes the same stance. Have a ponder the next time you list something; the provider might not be making anything on your job and that will alter his/her needs to view your work as viable!

Worked Perfectly

Had Uship transport a 22' Sailboat 1250 miles. Everything about the shipment went perfectly. I could not have done it myself as cheaply. It was picked up in one day and delivered early. The driver was very helpful and kept me advised of his progress every few hours.

I was pleasantly surprised with the whole process. I would recommend to anyone, based on my shipment.

Pets Are Injured / Pets Go Missing

Please protect your pet. Do not use this service.

Users reports pets injured during transport.

2 current posts on Facebook now about MISSING pets.

And what can be worse that that?? The company will not even respond to their pleas for info about the whereabouts of their beloved animals.

Please, please, do not use this service.

Very Unsatisfactory Experience!

I used uShip to transport a vehicle I bought on eBaY. They gave me a shipper who kept stalling for three weeks. In the mean time the seller was getting antsy. My check had cleared and he wanted the vehicle picked up. The shipper initially would respond to my e-mails and then after awhile, just ignored me. I was starting to get really worried. I'm stuck with this car and I need it transported! This had been going on from June 5-29th! This left me in a bad spot so I took the first guy who came along. uShip makes it out like these guys they give you are all insured and accredited, but it's not the case. I was said he'd give me an enclosed trailer. The new guy picked up my vehicle and did keep in contact with me along the way. When he pulled up to my house, I was shocked, though. Although this guy seemed like a nice guy, there was NO WAY this was how the vehicle was supposed to be transported. It was totally in the open and I noticed there was a pretty big dent on the side. This had not been seen on the eBay photographs so I knew it had happened along the way. Also, the shipper is supposed to keep track via documentation the condition of the vehicle and this was not the case. I had no documentation telling its condition so there was nothing I could say or do. I have used other shippers in the past and there was always documentation that the shipper had to sign off on. I know this vehicle did not have a dent when I bought it. You don't know who or what you are getting with uShip! You'd be much better off getting a shipper directly that advertises its services. I am not AT ALL satisfied with my shipping experience through uShip! You are really taking a chance if you use them for shipping a vehicle.

Horrible Experience

First shipper given to me 3 weeks late, not done in time frame. He told uShip that he could no longer handle the job. He initially answered my e-mails, but then just stopped. Then UShip found another shipper. Said it would be a insured, enclosed trailer. The car arrived and it was not enclosed! There was a dent in the vehicle that did not show up in the eBay sales photos. Although this was a nice guy, there were no documents stating the condition of the truck when he picked it up. My vehicle ended up having a dent in it and since I had no documentation telling it's condition, I was screwed. You don't know who or what you're dealing with. I have had other cars shipped before and never had such a terrible experience. I was fuming! You would be much better off going to a shipper that advertises this service. Go to the shipper directly, not through uShip!

Removal Of Upright Piano

The use of uShip (reverse auction) was a very positive experience, and certainly saved time and probably quite a bit of money as well. It seems to work to the advantage of both customer (less work gathering quotes and generally less cost) and supplier (finding and scheduling jobs more easily and effectively).

The removal was scheduled quite quickly and took place on time as planned. I was kept informed of progress.

I will certainly use it again if the need arises.

I Had To Have My Mgb Returned From The South Of Fr

I had to have my MGB returned from the South of France, to the UK. I was very worried about this. I had never heard of Uship before and was scared that something would got wrong. As was not 100% sure of the process.

Anyway, it was a bit stressful, but at the end of the day, I got my car home and was happy with the service. It was a good price as well in the end.

Although, some people bid silly money for my job, which turned out to be dodgy people, I think Uship had them removed within a couple of days. I would definately use the website again and tell all my friends about Uship.

My First (of Many) Experience Of Uship

“Had excellent service with this provider, would recommend without hesitation. uShip is a great service for large items, if someone is already doing your route it can be much more cost effective than booking a courier service specially. It also gives small companies the chance to compete. If you don't get an offer that's acceptable, you don't accept. The provider will only offer a cost that works for them. EVERYONE HAPPY.”

Collection Of Corner Sofa

Corner sofa purchased off e-bay- pick up only sale but accepted my offer of using a courier. Bids from uShip appeared immediately upon registration (which was very straight forward) and were very competitive. I went with the lowest bid (by £40) and they were excellent, they had one failed attempted to pick up the item, as the sofa wouldn't fit through the sellers doors with the legs on and they couldn't find the Allen key. They returned the next day And didn't charge me for the initial wasted journey or time, and appraised me of the situation immediately. Would definitely use my service provider and uShip again.
