I Bought This Land Rover Freelander 1.8 Es 4x4 Sta

I bought this Land Rover Freelander 1.8 ES 4x4 Station Wagon new in 2001 and loved it's styling. Unfortunately, that's the only thing that's been good about it. The build quality has proven really bad and over the last three years it's been back in the workshop more times than I care to remember. I had little support from the dealer and Landrover themselves were not much better. A repair undertaken 4 weeks before the warranty ran out, occurred again two days after the warranty had gone (i.E. the repair lasted 4 weeks 2 days). Landrover said it was my problem and wouldn't agree that a repair by a main dealership should last more than 4 weeks! I really feel that the job was 'bodged' just to get me through the remaining period of warranty. My friend in the trade calls these vehicles Landrover Threegranders because every time it goes in the workshop it costs you three grand! Seriously, I really wouldn't ever buy this model again.

You are correct, everything about this 4x4 is bad, £3000 bills are common. My recommendation, is this, under no circumstances buy one, I know they look nice, and the driving position is good, but reliability is very poor, my advice would be, buy a Toyota 4x4, this has quality built in, anyone who gives the Freelander a good review, must have money to burn!
