But after all the Compaq iPAQ H3630 is very useful for organizing dates, write & read documents, notes, Excel documents. I recommend it especially to students, becuase of its good price and all the features that students need!

I am 12 years old, and I am a computer geek. I had a Palm M100, and it was good. But the screen was too small, and I switched to a used Cassiopeia E-100(I bought on ebay). Much better, but the old os (It was running Windows CE 2.11) and unsupported prossesor (that's right! MIPS AND the SH3 and SH4 pair Are no longer supported by Microsoft!) was too much. So, in a bizzare twist of fate, I got a brand new Compaq Ipaq H3630 for christmas. On all the others, I was somewhat dissapointed. But not on the Ipaq H3630 pocket PC from Compaq! It was every thing it said it was and more!!!

I would NEVER go back! GOOD JOB, COMPAQ!!!!!

Absolutely fantastic! I have had my Compaq iPaq now for 3 months and I don't know what I would do without it! The contacts, calender, tasks etc. are the standard fair, doing exactly what you need, very well. The MS Word & Excel certainly increase the usability of this machine, allowing you to create templates/documents/spreadsheets on the iPaq during the day whilst travelling, saving time on booting up the laptop, together with its bulky size out of the office, allowing you to synchronize when you get home. The beauty of being able to personalise the Compaq iPaq by downloading "screensavers", pictures, mp3, games, e-books, and numerous programs, certainly increase the functionality and desirability of this product. If you're in the market for a PDA, I would look no further than the Compaq iPaq.

This PDA / Palmtop is an all round winner for Compaq and deserves the awards it receives. It's truly ahead of the competition by a large margin and offers such excellent speed & functionality. It's only downside is the fixed battery and the clunky directional key, but, as that is rarely used it does not really pose a problem.

Came to this from 4 years of dedicated Psion use. This machine has continued to impress me, havn't looked back and wouldn't consider going back. Get one ASAP.

Have used a Psion for 10 years, thought the iPaq would be an upgrade when my 5mx screen failed. I now realise that what Psion does, they do extremely well. Microsoft CE3.0 crashes almost daily compared to Symbians EPOC platform which never ever crashed. Try again, Microsoft.

I have found that to get all the features I want, I have had to pay out quite a bit on the optional extras. The unit itself is superb.

I would recommend this to professionals who regularly work away from the office but don't want to lug around a hefty notebook or wait 5 minutes to power it up only to discover that the battery runs out after 1.5 hours.

The stripped down Office suite is good for originating documents, but not all my word documents will port down to the pocket word version.

6 hour battery life - needs to be 8 to 10 to survive a day out of office, but it walks all over laptops.

Stowaway keyboard is great, but the tiny screen is no good for documents and presentations.

Palm don't even come close to the iPAQ H3630. What more do you require than having the software you use on a day to day basis at work available in your pocket anywhere you go.

Compaq's iPAQ Pocket PC is an incredible PDA.

I purchased my iPAQ Pocket PC in Florida in October. So far I have not experienced any of the problems logged by others. I use it in an IT environment in my job as IT Manager in a Hospital. The PCMCIA Jacket allows much greater expansion than other PPC's with its own battery. My use is with a network card and ZTERM Terminal Emulation. I swapped after 5 years with a Palm Pilot, which I loved.
