Vauxhall Cavalier Gsi 2000 Fwd
bought my gsi from my cousin after seeing it sat on his mums front for a few month without a wheel turned,i got the car knowing it had a rebuil;t engine and fresh paint only a few years back.
but, also knowing there was major rust issue's to the sills chassis legs boot floor, inner wings etc.
so now it has been undergoing restoration work and im due it back in a few week, the car has only travelled around 60-70miles in the two year5s icve owned it,so cannot realy give a detalied description about the car but lovely(like new)interior all working electrics etc......
the wasnt running right due to the "hall sensor" putting the car into limp mode(check this before forking out lots of money on crank sensors air flow meters cam sensor's etc!!!!
i can say though that all is good and just the interior to refit from doing the welding work(new sills chassis legs boot panel etc)she will be like a new car again and cannot wait to get her back tbh........
I know its a while ago now but could you let me know where you had the work done and how much it cost as I think I might have its twin and I cant get anyone to look at mine
ccheers

Had My Vauxhall Cavalier Gsi For 3 Years, Started
Had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi for 3 years, started using it as a daily driver and have been continuously upgrading it since, it's now too uncomfortable to drive every day so it sleeps in the shed waiting for the next track day or club run.

I Had My Vauxhall Cavalier Gsi For About 6 Years,
I had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi for about 6 years, put about 100k miles on it, but it was still going strong when I let it go. It was diamond black and completely standard, except for a Magnex s/s exhaust.
As you probably know, the GSi was basically a Cav CD with attitude, so you had a nice trim level with a lot of grunt.
My car developed a very nasty fault, it would just cut out at any random moment - very scary in the outside lane of the motorway? Then it would take some time to restart. It was in the (Vauxhall) garage for about 2 weeks when I decided I probably wasn't going to get it back on the road so I bought a Nissan Primera 2.0 SE. Big mistake - lots of toys like heated leather seats, electric everything - but I did not enjoy driving it at all.
The the garage said they had found the problem - the immobiliser had gone screwy and was randomly cutting in, resulting in the engine cutting out. I would have thought they could have found this earlier. So I got the car back minus the immobiliser and decided to sell it.
I let it go to my brother so that I could get it back when he wanted to sell it. Unfortunately it was not to be, after the car had been broken into a few times outside his house it developed a few electrical faults and he eventually had it towed and scrapped.
So if anyone wants to sell a diamond black GSI 2wd with a/c let me know...
