The Nokia 6610 Is A Good Phone, Not Flash, Covers

The Nokia 6610 is a good phone, not flash, covers are rubbish though.. prone to cracking across screen, on my 3rd one in as many months...looking to get a 3220 next I think.

I Only Just Got A Nokia 6610, But The Guy I Bought

I only just got a Nokia 6610, but the guy I bought it from has had it for a year. He stepped over to a different Nokia that's just a bit better.

He only once had some battery trouble last year, but got it fixed by a firmware upgrade within his warranty by Nokia.

The telephone is incredibly comfortable to use: nice size and great keypad. Typing messages is made very easy with the multi-language T9. (I'm bilingual in English and Dutch.)

I've had trouble using MMS, but that's my provider's fault. Nor have I gotten the infra-red port to work together with the Samsung S300.

I absolutely love this phone, and highly recommend it. Although it feels flimsy to the touch, it has proved itself durable after being carried in a pocket for more than a year. Its lightweight and comfortable to hold, and the buttons are a delight to press. The menus are clear and easily accessible.

The ringer is very loud, although vibrating only average -- still noticeable enough.

Overal, very user-friendly, to say the least.

Two thumbs up, Nokia!

I Upgraded From A Nokia 7110 And I Was Able To Sta

I upgraded from a Nokia 7110 and I was able to start using the 6610 almost immediately. The battery is not as powerful as what I had on the 7110, but I usually keep it on for about a week before I have to recharge it.

The applications included are actually useful, one that I've been able to use regularly is Converter II and you can actually add your own conversion ratios, e.g: from mph to km/h. The PC Suite included is more useful than what I had for the 7110 and I can load more applications onto the phone and send text messages from my laptop. All in all, a great phone!!

I Had A Nokia 6210 Before This Mobile Phone And I

I had a Nokia 6210 before this mobile phone and i have to be honest apart from a coloured screen, the Nokia 6610 was a better phone. The quality of the loud speaker is very clear and it does have many features, but i dont have much more to say about this phone. I am so glad the contract i am on is nearly finnished, so i can change it.

The Nokia 6610 Was My 4th Nokia Mobile, Having Wor

The Nokia 6610 was my 4th Nokia mobile, having worked up from the humble 3210. Being my first colour-screen phone, I was expecting a lot from this device.

My initial impressions of the phone were quite good. The phone looked stylish as is the case with most Nokia handsets, and the phone was very easy to navigate. Again this is something that Nokia have built a reputation on in the past. However my expectations were short lived as I began to find problems with the phone.

After a couple of months of ownership, the facia on my phone started to repeatedly come apart at the top, even though there was a plastic lug there to prevent this happening. There was no damage to the facia, but the clips didn't quite meet together, making the facia come apart at the slightest tap.

Although initially a bonus, the screen on this phone is way too small! Using GPRS to browse the web, quickly becomes a bind as much of your time is spent scrolling and scrolling, trying to find the piece of the page that you want.

The mention of GPRS brings me onto the next problem. Although this phone is marketted as a fully WAP compliant device, I had lots of trouble downloading or visiting graphical WAP sites. My handset would frequently respond with messages telling me that my phone didn't support images or graphics, even though the phone is sold as a graphical, semi-MMS compatible handset.

The final problem with this phone is that the keys are simply too small. It is very difficult to key something on this phone, without catching other keys, and making frequent mistakes whilst texting, or entering information.

On the plus side, the 6610 has a mediocre battery life, which generally gave me between 1.5 and 2 weeks between charges. The radio was a nice bonus, although you have to use the original Nokia headset to listen to it, because of the connector between the headset and the phone.

The Nokia 6610 is an average phone for people who are not terribly adept at some of the more modern features of mobile communications. The phone certainly does it's job, but not as well as might be expected from a Nokia. Generally if you can stretch your money to a higher model, then I would recommend that you do so.

After A Week Of Looking For The Perfect Mobile Pho

After a week of looking for the perfect mobile phone for me, i took a chance on the Nokia 6610, and i can say i am quite happy with it. at first, the phone would shut off at will whenever i had the operator logo on. i sent it to the nokia repair centre, and it was fixed. it is now perfect, no bugs. the only bad thing is that now i cannot see my transparent op logo, but i was told it is because of the SIM card, not the phone.

the phone comes with ugly screen savers and many bad polyphonic ringtones, but you will be glad to hear that you can delete anything you wish (i deleted everything). the new pictures i put in look very good. i have a few pictures girls in there, as well as a pic of beckham and zidane, and they all have a perfect resolution.

SMS is also really easy to use, just like almost every nokia out there. WAP is also easy to use. a nice feature the phone has is that if you press and hold the 0 (zero) button, the phone automatically connects to your provider's home page. no need to go through the menus.

to conclude, if you are looking for a good, reliable phone and dont care about not having a camera on you phone (i have my 3.5 megapixel casio for that), BUY IT!!! DONT LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE!

Bought This Nokia 6610 Mobile Phone Last Year And

Bought this Nokia 6610 mobile phone last year and after 8 months it stopped ringing, sent it off to be repaired and was told it has liquid damage. As ive never dropped it in water, they tell me it could simply be condensation, and is not covered under warranty!! So beware.

Unfortunately im not that happy with my purchase now and wont be going back to Nokia.

Yes I also had a problem with my phone 6610 cutting off. Was told it was liquid damaged and could not be fixed took it in to a private repairer who fixed this for 55 pounds. 2 months later phone still on the blink, I have been extremly annoyed because I loved the phone because of the radio and other little features I have upgradeed to the z600 now.

tk2004

I totally agree with you. I had the phone for 7 months when it went off and I couldn't turn it on again. I was also told that it was condensation and that it wasn't covered by my warranty. Very annoying!!!

This Nokia 6610 was my first phone, it is simple, has radio and very nice ringtones. It is basically a phone for people who do not want to waste their money on digital camera and all those stupid features, and who travel alot.

Waaaaaaaw! The Nokia 6610 is cool. Since it is my first mobile phone I was searching for something which have a colour display, no cameras, light and easy to use and not with such complicated functions. I found all these features in this Nokia 6610.

I Looked At Other Nokias But Not Being One For Thi

I looked at other Nokias but not being one for things that flash the Nokia 6610 fitted the bill.

The menus are similar to other Nokias so its easy to navigate through the menus.

I like the FM stereo radio, as far as gadgets are concerned this is a good addition and it sounds good.

People talk about mobiles being flimsy. I used to have a Panasonic GD67 and that had a flimsy feel to it, but despite dropping it a few times it still works fine. I've not dropped the Nokia 6610 yet but I'm sure despite the flimsy feel it will be fine(!)

The buttons have a good positive feel to them although you do have to be a little bit accurate when pressing the main up down left right key.

The screen is bright and the text is clear and easy to read.

The wallpaper seems a bit odd along with some of the tunes, but I suppose its down to personal taste and being a Nokia other tunes and wallpaper are easily got.

I got this phone free with a contract so I'm happy with that, only you can decide if you would like to spend so much on a phone.

This phone has a business look to it and doesn't give the impression that its going to be fun, if you want FUN from your phone this isn't it. It has practical functions like a calendar, to do list etc. If you want a phone where you won't be embarrassed to get out at the business meeting, this is the phone for you. Which reminds me. If you have a PDA or Pocket PC you can transfer info from that machine to your phone, I've tried it with great success with addresses and contact information.

Great phone, nice be back with a Nokia!
