My Dream Machine Gaggia Ice Cream Maker
This machine is well built and quiet to use. Bought mine from Hart of Stur, delivered next day. Makes the most amazing ice cream and sorbets. The machine is well made and easy to use. I have read in some reviews it is hard to clean, but I disagree, very easy. Machine is heavy so you have to have space in your kitchen as it is not a put away item, but then who would want to hide it away. This machine has a built in freezer which you set for 5 minutes, then pour in your mixture, set timer for about 20 - 30 minutes, job done. I have made my ice cream using the built in bowl, as I prefer it to the removable one.
Instruction book is good, with lots of exciting recipes for ice cream, sorbets and cold drinks.
My grandchildren will love me even more !!!
Before I made my purchase I looked at other makes and decided the Gaggia was the best on the market. When the ice cream is finished, the machine switches itself off, all you have to do it eat the ice cream.

Great But Expensive!
Did a lot of research before I eventually spent this much on an ice-cream maker, and I'm not disappointed with the Gaggia. If you are into making your own ice-cream, and can afford to spend £300 on a machine, then I can recommend the Gelatiera - far superior to the cheap non-compressor pre-freeze ice-cream makers.
Easy to use and clean and you can use virtually anything as ingredients, provided you use the basic ice-cream recipe. Super-smooth soft Italian style ice-cream, sorbets are great and granites (ice slurry booze!) are even better.
Machine is relatively quiet and takes 20 to 30 minutes to complete its cycle. 2 mixing bowls included, one fixed, one removable. If you use the removable bowl (which makes it easier for cleaning) you need to pour a small quantity of alcohol (I use vodka) between the inner and outer bowls to make the freezer work properly - the instructions say to use alimentary alcohol, but I've no idea what that is adn it doesn't seem to be readily available in the UK.
Machine is big and heavy (a permanent fixture in my kitchen) but appears well made, is attractively designed and is well finished. My only niggle is that the mixing bowl size is a little on the small size (600g) and if you're into making a lot of ice-cream I can recommend the optional extra bowl kit which provides you with 2 extra bowls and an additional mixing paddle - once you've tasted the product I can guarantee that you'll want more!
Expensive, but highly recommended if you're an ice-cream lover.

You Need To Be A Real Ice Cream Enthusiast To Buy
You need to be a real ice cream enthusiast to buy a Gaggia 74500N Gelatiera as the icecream is not cheap to make. But sorbets are super and even easier than ice cream.
Easy to clean.
Not very noisy.
